posted a message on Duplicate Protection in Season Rewards Chest Not Working

Sure bad press for the "benefit" of getting some players annoyed at them. I think you are onto smth. They did this on purpose, just like they added duplicate protection on purpose. Makes a lot of sense if you think about it.

posted a message on New Priest Card - Activate the Obelisk

I don't think that restoring 15 Health is that hard. Considering also that Priest has access to mass healing spells such as Circle of Healing, Holy Nova and Divine Hymn as well as making use of minions that damage themselves (Injured Blademaster and Damaged Stegotron), Reborn minions as well as Lifesteal minions, it shouldn't be too hard to consistently restore 15 Health relatively quickly in a game. In addition to that you can use your Hero Power and make use of the traditional card draw engine of priest with Northshire Cleric + Wild Pyromancer + Circle of Healing to both advance the quest and keep you hand relatively full. In fact, I think this is one of the easier quests to complete considering that many of the cards you would need for the quest have seen widespread play in Priest throughout the history of the game.

And I think that there is no denying the power level of the upgraded Hero Power is strictly better than the base Hero Power, without even considering the minion buff part. Imho, the only way this doesn't see play is if there is no Priest deck above Tier 4.

posted a message on do you think Kazakus might come back?
    Quote from HMcCool >>

Just wondering as they said they have one neutral legendary left to reveal with the no duplicate rule.

Also they said new lackeys and villians would join the league.

would make sense as Kazakus could be seen as a villian and could have a lackey?

    what do people think?

Did they say that they will be revealing a neutral legendary with the no duplicate rule in the ComicCon Panel? Because I haven't seen this piece of info anywhere else.

To weigh in on the discussion, I doubt that Rafaam will be the neutral legendary with the no duplicate rule. There is a few reasons for that. First, they confirmed they didn't want to make new legendaries of the villains so that they could place the explorers more into the spotlight. I really think that the neutral legendary should have a pretty powerful payoff, because the explorers don't seem to warrant the deck restriction. This would further make picking Rafaam as the neutral no duplicate legendary bad as it would eclipse the explorers. In fact, I think they shot themselves in the foot with the way they are handling the neutral no duplicate legendary, since making it very powerful will definitely make it steal the show from the explorers.

Kazakus on the other hand doesn't make much sense, so I don't really know what they are going to do with this one.

Blastcrystal Potion saw play in Reno Warlock, which needed to find 30 singletons to play, in a Meta were it could often be used in mid or late game, where permanently losing a mana crystal was barely a concern.  This card is worse.  Significantly worse.  DUST.

But a fool who thinks Rafaam is a good card would never understand this.

To think that losing a mana crystal has ever been "barely" a concern shows how little you understand of the game. This card's "disadvantage" might not even come to pass. So please explain to me how a 4 mana card without a drawback is significantly worse than its counterpart with a drawback that happens all the time?

Also what meta are you referring to where Blastcrystal Potion could be used late game. I distinctly remember Pirate Warrior and Reno decks to be the most popular and with Pirate Warrior you had to either lose or stabilize by turn 6.

While you are at it please quote me on when I said Rafaam is a good card and when you can't find me saying that, because I didn't, stop wasting my time.

Destroy a minion and 3 extra legendaries from my Arch-Villain Rafaam for just 4 mana? Don't mind if I do.

When have you played Rafaam and thought, "I would have won if only I had 3 more random legendaries in my deck."

It's more likely that playing this card actually delays your ability to find Rafaam in the first place.

To be honest of late its hardly been a problem to find cards in Warlock decks due to having cards like Plot Twist. Additionally, you don't have to play this card before you get Rafaam in your hand. Finally, its not about having 3 more legendaries (which would be 6 by the way due to running two copies of the card), but about having 6 additional cards which can offset the disadvantage of tapping a lot early game. And all this is just the side effect. Let's not forget that you get a pretty strong effect to clear very strong minions early game, such as Mountain Giant on 4.

My point is the disadvantage isn't that big. Blastcrystal Potion saw play and its disadvantage is arguably the worst in Hearthstone, being so bad that almost no card that destroys your mana crystals has seen regular play. Therefore, I think its safe to say this will be a very good card, especially considering the lack of this powerful a single target removal at 4 mana for Warlock.

Your Arch-Villain Rafaam was garbage before this card, and it certainly doesn't improve because of it.

Oh no, someone doesn't like Arch-Villain Rafaam and has to hate on it on a thread for another card that has synergy with it. Good for you bro. I personally like the card and I think that it has a place as a value generating card in the game. How about you discuss about the actual new card, so that you can keep your opinion relevant to the topic at hand?

Are you the guy who brought up Rafaam?  Think before you type.

Look dude. I will break it down for you cause you seem to be a bit slow. The only reason I mentioned Rafaam was because I think the "drawback" of the card can easily be turned into a benefit due to it delaying fatigue and because Rafaam can turn the worthless imps into valuable legendaries if you are playing a value game.

My original Rafaam comment was meant more as a lighthearted remark to show that I don't think that this cards side effect is an actual drawback. Considering that other cards with an actual drawback such as Blastcrystal Potion saw play, this is obviously a very good card.

So what is the takeaway here?

I made a comment that was relevant to the thread. You on the other hand made a comment that has nothing to do with this thread. So maybe you should think before you type.

posted a message on New Legendary Card Reveal - Hakkar, the Soulflayer

Actually Togwaggle would be perfect for this card, but I think the wording is just a bit unclear to be certain if this is an OTK. As a Druid you empty your deck, find a way to kill Hakkar, then using something like Twig, swap decks with Togwaggle. Now in theory this would cause your opponent to lose on their turn, because they draw an infinite number of this card. However, I think the wording they have used means that you shuffle the cards after you have drawn the extra card. So, in the hypothetical scenario I was talking about, you would take 4 damage (3 from the 1st copy and 1 from fatigue) and then you would shuffle two more copies of the card into your deck.

I think this card will see play in some Druid, Rogue and Warrior decks, with slightly different styles. Druid can combo with empty deck and Togwaggle, Rogue can use effects like Academic Espionage to make it less likely that copies of this card are drawn and Warrior can use it as a win condition for long games, using their armor and typical lack of cycle to make it less likely they lose to the damage inflicted by Hakkar.

posted a message on New Rogue Spell - Necrium Vial
    Quote from asteroidm >>

Ok, so play a Razorpetal Volley at some point before turn 9.   On turn 9 play out a Kobold Illusionist > Preparation > Necrium Vial (with Malygos in hand) > Razorpetal > Razorpetal > Shiv for 33 Damage.  OR you could Backstab your own Kobold Illusionist and just Razorpetal twice for 32 damage.  There are a few other iteration as well.  Like Kobold > Prep > Nercium Vial > prep > Necrium Vial > razorpetal > razorpetal.  Obviously that is less efficient.  There are other things like shadowstepping a Kobold earlier to make the combo cheaper, buuuut then you'd have to play Shadow Step in a very minion light deck in the first place.  Not to mention you'll stuggle to get all the pieces by then anyway.

It's a Six card combo.  The real problem, getting malygos in your hand.

There is an even "quicker" combo though not using this card and instead using Necrium Blade.  Have Maly in hand, again Razorpetal volley on 2.  On three Equip Necrium blade and attack. On four play kobold illusionist, then attack with the Blade again.  Backstab your own Kobold.  Then coin and/or prep out two Razor Petals.  That is a turn a turn four 25 damage combo.  If you include the three from the prior attack that is 28.

It's also a god draw that will only happen on trollden lol.

I think its actually much easier when you consider that you can run very few minions Elven Minstrel + Shadowstep would allow you to assemble most of them. You can use Cavern Shinyfinder if you want to draw Necrium Blade and then you fill your deck with stall cards. You can even use Myra's Unstable Element when you don't need full combo to burst down your opponent (you can probably draw all necessary minions with Elven Minstrel before that).

Kobold Illusionist + 2x (Preparation + Necrium Vial) + 2x Sinister Strike (or you can even play the Razorpetal Volley) for 42 - 46 damage (you don't necessarily need full combo though). With weapon you can get an additional 10 damage. All this under the asssumption of Malygos being the only remaining minion in your hand, which is why you probably don't run more than 6 - 7 minions.

posted a message on Let's talk about Preparation.

Well considering that you can now in Standard go Kobold Illusionist -> 2x (PreparationNecrium Vial) + 2x Sinister Strike for 46 damage from hand assuming you only have Malygos in hand, I think its safe to say both Preparation and Malygos may be something they consider moving to Wild, this expansion in particular is showing how much Malygos limits what can be done with certain cards (Druid, Shaman and Rogue at least should have some pretty powerful combos in Standard that are being enabled by cards introduced in this expansion). Honestly I think they should only rotate Preparation if they intend to give Rogue spells more reasonable costs, otherwise they risk making Rogue very weak (or force them into midrange minion style decks only). If it wasn't for Preparation though I don't think we would be seeing a 5 mana Necrium Vial, which honestly seems overcosted by like 2 mana.

posted a message on Mecha'Thun is too strong.

You can definitely play this in Malygos Druid as an alternate win condition, i.e. if your burst isn't enough. I don't think Hemet, Jungle Hunter, makes the cut though. Druid doesn't want to run a lot of cards below 3 mana. You can use cards like Arcane Tyrant to empty your hand more easily and only one Ultimate InfestationJuicy Psychmelon. The combo to win at the end if burst isn't an option would be you play Mecha'thun with Flobbidinous Floop , Naturalize and Jasper Spellstone in hand and unless your opponent can clear the board completely with no chance of playing Naturalize you win.

posted a message on New Legendary Minion - Mecha'thun

On top of being better than a simple 8/8 for Spiteful decks I think this card can be run even in the current Standard format.

The easiest example would be Malygos Druid. Not only do you have extra reason to run Juicy Psychmelon, but you can make your victory almost inevitable when you have exactly 4 cards remaining. Those being Mecha'thun, Flobbidinous Floop, Naturalize and at least Jasper Spellstone. It might get a bit awkward if your opponent kills you c'thun and leaves no targets for Naturalize, but other than that I think this may be the most consistent Mecha'thun combo in Standard.

posted a message on Any Golden Legendary Insta craft till now ?

I like the idea of golden Whizbang, but honestly I would never play it (i prefer making my own decks and i typically have most of the cards early on). The insta craft golden for me though will be Floop. Seems like a very strong legendary for my favorite class and it would be like getting a golden copy of any minion you can play as a Druid. And lets not forget that the name of the two Druid legendaries are pretty awesome too and depending on the effect of Floop's Glorious Goop I may feel compelled to part with another 3200 dust there.
