I must say that as a paying customer I'm really content with this expansion. The main reason being that there are ZERO filler cards! Every card has a home in SOME deck, and I must say that I'm really content and impressed by it. Of course Blizzard has made a new standard that they can't drop from, but I'm sure they can do it with their finances from the game.
I think that Blizzard delivered more than we (or at least I) expected they would, so A+ for them and I hope they keep up with it.
I definitely agree with you that I'm very satisfied with this expansion, I feel like they keep getting better and better. Interesting new mechanics and not too much powercreep or fillers.

As much as I would like, I can't say it yet. I need to see how impactful the release is first. Though I am terribly hyped for the cards and I have high hopes.
As a paying customer myself I am pretty happy with the legendary changes when opening packs. I am not happy they printed so many legendaries that I don't like or think are that good. Ima feel bad opening up any of those god damn princes. At least I get a free DK,
Team 5 is certainly upping their design game with these past 2 expansions. No outright aggro cards, lots of ways for late-game decks to come back, and some really cool mechanics without anything being absolutely broken (from what we see so far).
I also appreciate how they've gone the route of giving each class 2 legendaries each time, coaxing you to build certain decks based on what you pull, while also not putting any more Dr. 7's in the neutral space. SeemsGood

I agree that Vryghoul, Wretched Tiller don't look very good, but at least they have interesting designs. As for and Grim Necromancer, I think this may find a place in a bloodlust/evolve shaman or token druid as with three bodies instantly it works well with any sort of board buff. Maybe it isn't strong enough to make the cut, but worthy of experimenting.

There are very much some outright aggro cards. My worry is less about those and more about cards that seem defensive but end up being better aggro tools like Crypt Lord. I am not THAT worried. I think the biggest issue with control now is a way to close out the game. I think it's the biggest reason why taunt warrior was successful. Though not a traditional "control" deck, it was a deck that looked to go late game, or rather had to go late game, till they could start using DIE INSECT every turn. With some of the DKs providing that sort of thing it makes closing out a game easier I think.
My definition of filler is a card that's so bad that under no circumstances will it see play in any Tier 1-Tier 5 ranked deck. So by my definition this expansion has filler, even though the filler is more complex that just a weakly statted vanilla minion. Things like Necrotic Geist, Spellweaver, Night Howler, Grim Necromancer, Wicked Skeleton, Vryghoul, and Wretched Tiller are the filler cards to me.
I am greatly looking forward to this expansion though. Filler doesn't bother me like it does some people.
As much as I despised the "thsi expnasion suxxx!!!!11" threads, comments, etc.... The same counts for optimistic and content comments:
We have only seen the cards and have no idea how the cards will actually work in the coming meta. We should relax for now and see how everything works out. You can only see if an expansion was good months after release. I am also quite optimistic, but I was also optimistic about MSoG, while many people hate that expansion and the meta that followed.
Also, there are filler cards IMO. I'm looking at you, Bloodworm (among others of course)! But filler cards apparently belong to an expansion, because Arena is still a thing. Some filler cards perform horrible in Standard/Wild, but work in Arena.

I am on board with you there. Though at least two of those I think are arena playable. I actually want to experiment some with Necrotic Geist even though it seems pretty bad.

Necrotic Geist seems like it would be really interesting way to discourage a board clear.
Ungoro and now frozen throne have both been really unique additions to the game, with a few exceptions *Stares sadly at Malfurion the Pestilent* but overall I'm pleased and I'm looking forward to the interesting decks that I can make.

Imo Bloodworm is not a filler. It's an excellent 5-drop for Control Hunter, since it has the Beast tag as well as giving some healing.

I highly doubt that Control Hunter will ever happen. Other classes have better Control class cards AND a better hero power. I don't think that the DK card will change those circumstances. I'd love to see it happen though...

I agree. Control hunter isn't in the cards right now I don't think, at least for the upper tiers. But there will undoubtedly be some decks out there and it will certainly run bloodworm.
I'm not too excited about the new expansion, but I must agree they have been quite reasonable with the cards.
Filler cards still exist, like they always have and must, but they at least demand some reading (Worgen Greasers are just mind-numbingly boring) and implement mildly fresh, even if weak mechanics.
I also think their balancing seems to be improving a lot, but that is too early to compliment. We as a community rarely make the right judgement about most cards.

At least they don't make Ice Rager anymore.
I am not paying for now since I've been away for too long and am sitting on like 30K dust, but I am glad this set seems decent.
