Hello everyone, just passing by to write a meta report and to give you guys updated options for decklists to use in this meta!
Miracle, miracle and miracle, everything is happening around miracle rogue. Its not that bad because there are plenty of ways to counter miracle rogue, but as many might have said before me: miracle is the most reliable and consistent deck in the entire game. Until new cards pops up that counter that playstyle, you'll always have to think about the miracle matchup when making a deck, which means if you want to counter the meta, you HAVE to also counter miracle. Basically there are 2 types of decks in this meta: Miracle and those who counter Miracle.
That being said, there are quite a few decks who do it on a very consistent way, i'll name some of those but you might want to add some yourself: shockadin, zoo, tempo rogue, these new druid agressive ramp variants that poped lately, hunter trap, etc. So if you are not too much into miracle, you can just go ahead and grab one of these decks, there are plenty of consistent ways of being "good against miracle", as you might have noticed.
There are some other decks that altho they dont always beat miracle, they are very strong and very consistent by themselves. The meta has evolved a lot, and the current name of the meta is: tempo. So there are quite a few other decks that are capable of generating tempo, while still doing "ok" against miracle rogue, such as shaman tempo and paladin tempo.
The reason some decks have been loosing consistently against miracle rogue is the fact that these decks are outdated, too many CA (card advantage) cards as well as big legends rather than just tempo, i'll give you some examples on my newest created shaman deck:
I dropped some of the CA cards such as both Mana Tide Totems for more stable tempo cards such as Gnomish Inventor, that not only draw you cards but also have reliable bodys themselves, I have been performing extremelly well with this shaman build lately, not loosing a single game as far as the playtest goes (currently rank 3). The same goes to control warrior, Justsaiyan posted a "midrange-ish" control warrior build, which is just better than the ultra-legendary-heavy version many people use, it actually wins versus miracle! (TOO GOOD!)
that is also the reason people are going a lot Azure Drake lately, the card generates tempo by giving you a reliable body while still giving you a card :D
There are 3 tiers of classes, currently. IMO you should choose whichever you want to play by taste but if you are one of those tryhard guys that dont care about fun and only about wins, here are the tier of classes:
Tier 1(the "best" classes):Rogue, Druid and Warlock. Tier 2(the "still good" classes): Shaman, Warrior and Paladin. Tier 3(The "weak" classes): Priest, hunter and mage.
here are my sugestions as this weeks decks: Rogue: Miracle, obviously. I have been playing Hyunosim's version of miracle, and it is by far the most consistent version because it lacks "bad cards" that fill your hand with unplayable stuff. its less bursty but more resilient and stable! I like this more than Kolentos build.
Warrior: go for Justsaiyan, he knows his stuff! Warlock: Zoo is still the one giving the most headache to everybody, it hasnt changed a lot since the most stable build has poped up, this is my build, the standard Zoo build:
Note: This is so far the only priest build I managed to do that wins against miracle rogue on a consistent ratio.
So yeah this is it for this week, hope you guys enjoyed this small article and dont forget to follow my twitch page for some fun streams :D https://www.twitch.tv/budabudie
Nice write-up. FYI, I'm running a fairly similar midrange mage deck and as far as testing that for you, I will say I have been happy with the results so far. It got me from rank 20 to rank 9 in very few games. I am not sure how well it will compete at the highest level, but it is at least great for laddering and, you are right, it performs very well against the most popular decks (miracle rogue, handlock, and to a lesser extent, zoo).
I also run 1 as well and it never felt like a dead draw. Even if i don't use it on Leeroy or a super buffed Edwin i sometimes have to use it on a lesser minion to get rid of some Taunt or simply survive for the win next turn.
Really well written post as usual, friend. I'm so happy the community embraced the shockadin and I'm honored to see that we're currently tier 2 on your meta report <3 I hope you don't mind me linking the deck here, if you do, I will edit to remove it, ok? Shockadin had a little update to fit the current meta, added an oracle in it to get better value from DF since so many players are playing around DF. By the same time that it gives you 2 cards to get a better solution to the current board, you also get an extra 2 cards for the next turn (or same turn) DF. And added a loot hoarder (thalnos if you have it) for an extra card draw (and+1spell dmg for thalnos).
Spark's Pyromaniac Secrets has about 80% win rate against Miracle Rogue.. I tried it myself and run a customized version of it, and didn't even lose once against any Miracle.
You can't harass members who play Face Hunter, nor are they compelled to make preemptive apologies or justifications for playing it. They don't hack or crack their opponents' game, they simply play existing cards that form a specific deck. If you suck at countering Face Hunter, you should blame the designers, not the community.
Very nice write up dude :) Though I think Freeze Mage warrants a spotlight over midrange mage. Not only has it had a pretty solid following for a while after Rdu's tournament win I think we'll see a huge increase of freeze mage on the ladder. I don't think I've seen a midrange mage above rank 10 for a season or two. Even aggro mage is more popular than midrange.

Well written article, and great decks!
Unless explicitly stated, my posts are my opinion and mine only.
Awesome decks, Nuba! Thanks for the meta update!

thanks for the nice feedback guys :D

Cool decks, I'll probably try some of them out. I'm already running a warrior deck like that (sadly no hellscream D: )

Brawl wrecks me 100% of the time.
I see this got moved to deck building forums o.o hmm

Nice article! Nuba, what do you think about tempo rogue in the current meta?
I bring life and BOOOOAHH
Well done!
I like it, sir. I think its good enough :D

Great work as always!
Interested to know why you removed any copies of Cold Blood from your Miracle Rogue Deck though.
I also run 1 as well and it never felt like a dead draw. Even if i don't use it on Leeroy or a super buffed Edwin i sometimes have to use it on a lesser minion to get rid of some Taunt or simply survive for the win next turn.

I strongly agree with the tiers. Miracle and Druid are so strong right now and Warlock will always be a powerhouse.
Spark's Pyromaniac Secrets has about 80% win rate against Miracle Rogue.. I tried it myself and run a customized version of it, and didn't even lose once against any Miracle.

this, i found control warrior in EU-Ladder pretty much unplayable. The season before it was my favorite deck.
Nuba is an NA player, I guess it would've been wise for him to state so, his meta report may not be accurate for EU servers.
Unless explicitly stated, my posts are my opinion and mine only.
Nice article, but not as broad as it should be. Especially freeze mage and handlock are very popular.
Very nice write up dude :) Though I think Freeze Mage warrants a spotlight over midrange mage. Cool stuff Nuba, would have liked to see more shine on my beloved Handlock however :P
