posted a message on Shield Slam OP. Nerf?

The thing about Shield Slam is that it takes setup. Sure it can deal 20 damage for 1 mana, but you had to not take damage for several turns or combo it with another card. Is Circle of Healing broken because it can deal 4 to every minion for 0 mana? No, you had to assemble a combo to do it. In the case where the warrior has hero powered for several turns without taking damage, they either used other removal to kill your minions and enable Shield Slam, or it is a control mirror and the opponent can set up against Shield Slam however they want and not be too disadvantaged.

Kind of off topic, but Execute is extremely powerful in every warrior archetype (not just control like Shield Slam) and would be fine at 2 mana.

If this thread is to be believed, every deck is a no-skill POS deck. So really, no matter what you do someone will lose to your stupid deck and hate it.

Cut Moonfire as well since the card is just very weak. Add a spell of your choice - personally I prefer Starfall.

Cut the Patron package for Elise and it works much better.

posted a message on Guys Leeroy Jenkins in Zoo is just not good

I certainly lose a lot of games to Leeroy, but I've lost to Leeroy out of control Priest before. Winning a game with a card doesn't make it good.

Doomguard fits much better in Zoo's board control gameplan and does things on turns besides the one you win. And if you have any minion on board (which you almost certainly will in Zoo if the game is not lost already) you can just play your PO(s) before Doomguard anyways. It is also fairly easy to plan your turns out in advance so Doomguard only discards 1 or fewer cards, at which point it is just insane.

posted a message on [Spark] Yogg & Load Control Hunter all the way up to Legend ! Fun and Efficient

I played Freezing for a while, but I think Explosive is better. In slow matchups where Freezing excels you are already a favorite since your endgame is so much more powerful than anyone else's (Lock N Load for 4-6 cards is hard for a control deck to overcome), so Explosive helps you survive to Call of the Wild and take over in matchups where you don't have as much time to sculpt a perfect hand.

I wish there were more people like you. Once the warrior has 40 life and 5 cards in hand and you're topdecking, you aren't winning even if you're still at 30. Concede and move on to the next game. Hearthstone players don't concede when a game is lost but won't be over for a while like Magic players do.

Zoo is more forgiving a lot of times because the hero power is broken, but it definitely takes more skill than agro Shaman or Secret Paladin or Combo Druid. That said, it is still an overpowered deck that is often unfun to play against.

This is the most fun deck I've played in a long time. I won 40 games last weekend and got my golden Hunter with it!

posted a message on The Pepper Thread - Share your good vibes!

I was playing Yogg'N'Load Hunter against control Priest. I needed a payoff card after using both Call of the Wild (the game was going very long) so I used Tracking...and hit 2 Lock and Load and Yogg. Well, this Yogg had better be great...deals 17 damage to him, gets me Shadow Priest hero power, and draws me a Great Sand Worm from Infest. He heals up and kills the Worm, and a couple turns later I enter fatigue at 17 health while he has 17 health and 2 cards in deck. I have only an Excavated Evil in hand, and he has 5 cards, so I figure I am going to lose. The Priest plays...a Thoughtstolen Yogg-Saron! It plays Lay on Hands and Arcane Intellect (among other irrelevant stuff), and after my ping the next turn he dies to fatigue!

    Yogg is so fun.

TIL I'm an immoral businessman who didn't deserve to finish college.

In all seriousness, different things are fun for different people. There are deck styles I can't stand playing that some people play every year and love.

Just played a Priest mirror where my Shifting Shades gave me Northshire Cleric and Circle of Healing, and my opponent's Shades and Thoughtsteal gave him 2x Entomb, Sylvanas, and N'Zoth.

Well, no one thought he would be good, so it's hard to be disappointed...

I've been most disappointed in Crazed Worshipper (and C'Thun in general I guess) and Master of Evolution. All of the Shaman minions are so big already that Recombobulating them isn't that great.

You can do that too! (Though I'll admit it's more fun to play control)

The beauty of card games is that bad players can blame their losses on luck and wins on skill, and good players win a lot either way, so everyone keeps coming back.

posted a message on What is your strat on the brawl today!

Upgrade! + Dread Corsair has been working very well. It beats Mechwarper decks, Soulfire + Fist of Jaraxxus, and Innervate + Loatheb, but loses to Frostbolt decks. Frostbolt decks lose to Soulfire + Fist of Jaraxxus, which in turn lose to Innervate + Loatheb and Mechwarper. Very interesting format.

Doomsayer + Mind Blast is also very good, and beats Mechwarper, comes down to rng vs Soulfire + Fist, and loses to Innervate + Loatheb.
