So these plagues are just project cards from Boomsday. Why are they making this game so inconsistent and confusing. First they decided not to bring certain keywords back because they are one expansion exclusive even though they made more cards that act like those keywords (yes I'm talking about those Echo and Recruit cards) and now they are bringing old mechanic to the game but they are naming it differently. I just don't understand Blizzard's logic. They say that they want to make the game easier to understand for new players but they are making it more confusing instead. Just use one name and stick to it.
If it comes to the card itself I think it will be good in the right deck. If you can use this with a weapon removal right away, it will be even better. Maybe you can use this in a deck based around small minions so your opponent won't get that much value from the weapon. I just wonder if Rogue can afford taking so much face damage without any reliable healing because I assume you would want to kill bigger minions with this weapon. Killing giants is nice but taking 8 damage to the face is not that great. I guess we will have to wait and see.
First of all, they said "Plague" cards affect all minions and board state, just like Plague of Death. Earthquake could have been renamed into a Plague too, but this card is forced and not different than Weapons Project.
Now the card is also given to the wrong class as there is noway a rogue would swing two times to remove big threats, because their weakness is healing. This is mainly an Arena card exactly how Envenom Weapon shines there, but this has a downside as in Arena you won't always have that weapon removal card.
Average card at best and thematically very poor. Card draw with Harrison Jones is nice but Rogue was not struggling with cycle as of late or hand-size/resources. This can work if we can get a similar effect to Violet Illusionist, but then you need to invest 3 cards to remove 1 large minion and a slight tempo swing (Plague of Madness > Immune Card > Weapon Removal Card).
Edit: I just realised its a rare card as well! Wow, poor Rogues.
I have only one question: Why would rogue EVER share a poisonous dagger with the enemy? To see how classes with no weapons accidentally cut their finger and die from poison? This will be MADNESS!
has its place. 1 mana weapon removal (like weapon's project) will help vs aggro/token decks. Would hurt to take a giant out but ya gotta do what ya gotta do. Seems like a tech card to me
Can honestly see this being played A LOT. It provides cheap removal of big taunts or threats to get you over the line in the mid/late game or early tempo. Most rogues are playing a load of cheap lackies so do they really care if they get killed? Ok so it fucks up an early van cleef but you've got shadow step for other stuff to prevent burglar etc being killed.
As people have mentioned you can couple it with Harrison but honestly it's just really good anyway and fits nicely with the rogue ability ot remove single threats.
I am absolutely fine to pay 8 life to remove that mountain giant on turn 3\4 and then do the same on the next turn
And T5 or 6 your death while spending 16 health for 2 mountain giants the turns before? What kind of board do you want to have T3/4? I don´t think thats enough, except your very lucky and can get out a Edwin 8/8 or better. May they will release some good cards for early game. Or maybe it is just me, cause I´m normally not very lucky with such playstyle. I really have to say that I have a very bad luck with draw last time. So I don´t think it will work (for me) really well.

"Plagues: Powerful AOE-style spells wielded by Priest, Shaman, Warrior, Warlock, and Rogue classes." Thanks Blizzard. Just when I thought we would get something to soft-replace vanish. Oh well shafted again.

that's exactly what I said in my post, they said they are AoE spells then they shaft Rogues with a rare quality "Project" card instead of a "Plague" card. But why are we surprised? Its Blizzard being its typical self of inconsistency. Vanish could have been made a "Plague of ....." as its powerful and affects both boards.

Blizzard said in AMA that they don't want to give Rogue an AOE so they changed the design of Rogue plague in final design.

The spell could have been give all minion's poisonous! not broken if cost correctly and still within theme of Rogue.

Then it is basically a board clear that Blizzard doesn't want to give to Rogues at any mana cost.
I actually think this is a pretty solid card. The only issue really is whether or not it belongs in Rogue. Rogue already has decent spot removal but this leverages the Rogues health as spot removal vs cards but generally speaking rogue needs that health pretty desperately and again Rogue has solid options already. Pairing it with any weapon removal isn't bad though as it can turn your otherwise useless tech cards into a solid removal option. The downside being how dead the card is if you don't have weapon removal in hand/need to save your weapon removal for later or can't just kill the opponent right away.
Definitely will have to wait and see on this one but I am leaning towards it being at least playable and very good if weapon removal tech cards are needed in a big way in the next xpac.

I love the card effect, and hate the card name. That is a project from boomsday, doens't feel like a plague at all.
But, putting that aside... 1 mana, weapon and minion removal, combo enabler, looks like it has everything needed to be played
Edit: looks like it doens't work with bladeflurry... And i could swear it used to heal when used with lifesteal kingsbane.
Rogues already plays pickaxe and vendetta on four to take out the 8/8
Does Blade Flurry trigger the poisonous? If yes, the card is ok, if not, it's garbage.
Plague of Maldness. Make each player toxic.
No it doesn't.

Anti-warrior, anti-mage tech card. Very good
