The five stages of Hearthsone grief:

    • denial: I'm done with Hearthstone
    • anger: Why are they so greedy
    • bargaining: Please restore 10 g per 3 wins, increase xp, more dust per cards, etc
    • depression: Ffs I need to play 6 hours per day
    • acceptance: I will just play 2 classes on standard instead of 4 like I used to do since I am too addicted to quit and it's the only thing I know to do well.

     You forgot one stage:

'Start a pointless ranty salt thread on Hearthpwn.'

posted a message on Is control dying? Serious question...

    Really good post!

I much prefer playing control-vased decks too and have found the new meta frustrating. Never thought of the pc to mobile issue but that makes total sense.

A few other thoughts to throw in the mix:

    - Scholomance academy (and to a lesser degree Ashes of Outland) had a big focus on low cost but powerful cards so the meta shifted towards a faster more aggressive style. We may be stuck with this for a while but it is swings and roundabouts so hopefully it'll shift back to control in the next expansion

    - I actually hit legend with control yoink priest prior to the new expansion but that has died a death since. Saying that the meta is still evolving all the time. There may be a viable control option out there

    - Smorc Demon Hunter is a problem as most control decks can't counter relentless damage from weapons to the face. For me, the most OP card in the deck is actually Blade Dance as it is such efficient removal for 2 mana. The new lifesteal guy is gross but its the fact they can remove multiple taunts so easily which really sucks.

posted a message on Does everyone like that this game has gone "full casino mode"?

I honestly don't understand the constant complaining about RNG.

They literally just nerfed the two cards that were the subject of most complaints.

The meta is varied and balanced with a range of different decks to suit all play styles.

Discover effects are fun and add spice. Swing turns are an important aspect of the game.

Good luck with the new expansion to everyone complaining about RNG 😝

I absolutely love the mechanic and the effort you have made here. It's a great concept and would make for an MVP set.

Sometimes I think they HS team are a little reserved with the new mechanics but yours balances new and exciting with simplicity.

Fantastic job. Keep the content coming!

I would personally like to see Mountain Giant and Edwin sent to the great HoF in the sky.

MG isn't oppressive by any means, I'm just over the card. But Giant Edwin's on turn 3/4 that cannot be dealt with and win a game by themselves are just a really annoying and pretty interactive.

posted a message on POLL: The deck you hate the most?

It's amazing how much hate there is for Anduin despite Priest being so uncompetitive. People seem to despise res effects and control style play. I get that it can feel frustrating to play against but it seems disproportionate for how weak the class is.

Personally, I cannot stand watching my rogue opponent play miracle style drawing a ton of 0 mana cards and roping each turn trying to fit in all their plays. Fun for them, dull and bizarrely non interactive for me. The deck is good and i can see why so many people play it, but I find it distinctly boring to play against.

Lackeys this time. . . every few months someone else has a new reason why everyone's leaving Hearthstone, and the game's about to die, etc etc. If they changed the lackey thing tomorrow, some other guy or girl would quit over some other dumb thing they don't like, and everyone will jump on that doom wagon. If Zetalot wants to leave, good for him, everyone needs to switch it up now and then. Just as many people hated his Priest concoctions as hate the stupid lackey nonsense now, so his proclamation is essentially meaningless.

The logic you used to get to "his proclamation is essentially meangingless" is so flimsy and weak, it makes me question if you even bothered to use ANY critical thinking on this issue, instead of spouting narrowminded vitriol that serves no feasible purpose or adds any extra element of debate or constructed criticism.  This is the definition of a meaningless opinion sir or ma'am, you have unironically turned the spotlight on your own thinly stretched attempt at discourse.

A differing opinion doesn't make someone narrow minded or their input meaningless.

But this is exactly why Hearthstone is doomed.  every time there is a super OP "thing"  the only solution to erase it is introducing an evem more powerful shit to overcome the previous. It will be worse and worse until finally they will make Hearthstone 2 wiping out all the crap they generated every expansion.

We're in the most OP meta as all six expansions are still in play. Once they rotate out the power level will drop and people who enjoy OP decks will complain about how slow/weak/unfun/underpowered the meta is. The cycle is always the same.

Streamers leaving isn't necessarily a bad thing as it allows new streamers to come through.

And for those slagging off the developers - the level of content and communication, as well as the willingness to change things quickly if required is the best it has ever been.

Ok but it doesnt change a fact that zilliax is the strongest card in the game right now

Zilliax doesn't win the game or act as a finisher or combo piece (except very rarely in a mech based deck I guess but who plays them?).

I dont think zilliax is an issue in the same way as it is so easy to deal with. Also rotates next year.

And just like that they killed the card. Maybe highlander mage will use it but only for a last resort card. I would never cast this trash if the match is stable. Random effects have nothing to do with skill and ppl who like random aren't good players

See this kind of statement gets on my wick. Brian Kibler loves RNG and he's a pretty good player. It's a CARD GAME so RNG is fundamental.  The best players understand and take advantage of this. A massive amount of cards in the game have some sort of random effect - do you not play them?

Some of us like to have fun and there's nothing like a bit of RNG chaos to help add some spice to the mix.

I get that a lot of players don't like RNG. That's fair enough but don't make broad statements about all rng lovers being bad players. I thoroughly enjoyed getting to legend with control dragon, elemental shaman last season and that was full of RNG. Haters can suck Hagatha's RNG tits

How is it possible that people obsess over the smallest shit in this game, and not a single person cares about how people act?  I've played most of the day today, and just about every person that's beaten me has played extra cards after they had lethal, if they could.  Could you imagine someone doing this in real life?  No, because no one would ever play games with them.  It's really the most pitiful thing I've ever seen, that every single person I play needs to rub their opponent's nose in a loss just to make themselves feel superior.  But it's just the opposite.  All you are proving is that you are the most petty people in the world, having to act like a douche bag just to make yourself feel less inadequate.

All I want to do is play a game, have some fun, and avoid assholes.  But no, this game isn't about fun, it's about some sort of weird, angry, sadistic, socially dysfunctional obsession.  You want to feel better about yourself?  Instead of acting like a douche bag, why not just be nice to people?  Then they will like you, and you will be happier.  Trying to piss someone off in a silly game only convinces both your opponent an yourself that you're just a joke.  And you annoy your opponent for a few seconds, and they never think of you again, and you have to live with being a jerk that no one likes 24/7.  I just don't get the mentality, and I don't get why no one cares.

There's hardly anything less consequential than a silly little game like this, and hardly anything more important in life than the way that you treat people.  Such is the Internet, I guess, where a small amount of sadists and sociopaths have have taught a huge amount of socially-unaware people that self-esteem is based on treating people like shit.  And the extremely sad thing is that people even stop noticing it, I think.  It's sad that you can't have an basic notion of how to treat people and enjoy this game.  I'm sure there are people that will say I'm to sensitive.  I'm not.  It's just extraordinarily sad to see so many people that have no empathy or any idea how to treat people.

I categorically agree with the notion that a large proportion of the HS community is made of weird people who enjoy being assholes.

The problem in my experience is more about the people who BM constantly through emotes rather than by playing their cards when they have lethal (although that is generally pretty annoying because it is nearly always aggro - I don't mind someone playing cool cards like Dragon queen Alex). There is literally no need to taunt someone by saying 'wow' or 'greetings' just before you kill them.

It's also frequently the same players who add you just to give you disgusting verbal abuse which they wouldn't dare say in public.

The HS community is the biggest problem with the game by a landslide.

The Hearthstone community is awesome, and do you know why??? Because it's not full of f...king hypocrites like many others out there. If you enjoy listening and talking to fake people all the time, it's not our problem. ;)

We are warriors, bro... Warriors who built this amazing forum... Warriors who built this town...

    ;)

You might be a warrior but a large number of the people playing the game are not, they're dicks and you know they are otherwise we wouldn't have threads like this.

The details of the game, such as rules and interactions, are things you can control, and mastering those will help you win.

You will never be able to control how other people act, and because they can't do any real harm to you in a video game, it's EXTREMELY foolish to get all worked up over their behavior.

This is especially true when the so-called "bad behavior" is strictly limited to a tiny bit of time-wasting or an emote function that you have the power to squelch.

As bad as the other person may be, you are just as bad as they are when you actually let them anger or depress you. Learn to control your own emotions and reactions, and you'll never be bothered by BM again.

Be that as it may, it isn't how the vast majority of people work. Losing sucks but it sucks harder when someone BMs throughout and clearly winds tons of people up - look at the salt thread.

Its easy to say it is 'EXTREMELY foolish' to get wound up but that is neither realistic nor helpful.
