Again a very slow Hunter legendary. I hope they will add some control cards that stabalize the hunter early game. Maybe then this card will see play in a slower Type of Midrange hunter.
People are going to say this is only a control card and wont work, but I view it as a potential ender for a less beast reliant midrange hunter deck. Still prolly wont be great, but at least something new to experiment with.
If they want to make control hunter work, they gotta look at the midgame not the endgame.
In a vacuum, this card in hunter is another in a long line of Hunter legendaries that are either overpriced (this card) or underpowered (Grievous Bite). This one is overpriced and thus too slow to make an impact.
That being said, if Blizzard keeps pushing a slower meta by introducing a wider array of deck building options to all classes, this card could possibly matter in this expansion (in an ideal world) or more likely next year. Blizzard has to include more control cards for hunter with lower costs or better effects to make cards like this, Abominable Bowman, and Crushing Walls useful outside of memes and casual.
And yes, I know that if face hunter ever got cheap effective control cards it would bring back the face hunter onslaught. That's why I'm suggesting that Blizzard push for a slower meta overall, which would allow these more expensive tools in hunter without contributing to face race trash hunter.

Rage quitting: the best way to ensure your opponent knows they beat a giant baby.
With the aid of Animal Companion, Unleash the hounds (which are beasts that can still go in this deck) you'll get a very fun deck in which Kathrena Winterwisp is the absolute star.
just tried to look for big beasts tat this could summon, it got a nice synergy with Charged Devilsaur initially thought about king krush but that card is way too bad.

Hunter already once ran a deck with only Barnes and Y'Saraj. Something a little more expansive could work. Barnes into this with a couple highmane is your deck works great. You get YSsarj that makes you smile as well. Get a Highmane? Well, that's still pretty insane value for 4 mana. 3/4, 1/1, and 2 2/2s.
Kinda screwed when you don't draw Barnes, but, you accept that with this and try to live with secrets til you start dropping HIghmanes.
If hunter can build a deck without beast minions on turns 1 to 4), this might be a strong top end. Savannah highmane, stranglethorne tiger, swamp king dread or nesting roc are all great to pull and make it worth the mana. Still, probably too slow for midrange. But I like it. Conditional recruit is something to work with. Give hunter a usable 1 or 2 mana weapon and some more minions like saronite chain gang, it might be even playable. The value is there.

Well they already said in the stream that hunter will get defensive early game cards.
what is this terrible art?

This is a craft for me. If it's not powerful, it's going to be fun at the very least.
I'll be building a deck with (x1) King Krush (x1) Swamp King Dred (x2) Savannah Highmane and (x2) Charged Devilsaur for beasts.

how about this kind of deck? for starters:

hope you get the overal idea, but it missing 2 cards idk what to add, need tweaks.
btw double Tracking is pretty crappy with this strategy, cuz you might discard huge beasts, while picking Kathrena.

This sounds so fun!
Charged Devilsaur value!
Pay 8 mana, get a 1/1 kitty cat to go with your 6/6.
I'd love to be in the "Which Shit Legendary Should We Give Hunter This Time?" meeting that Team 5 has each expansion.
8 mana concede luls.
But seriously good card. Unfortunately its a Hunter card.

Savannah Highmane, Swamp King Dred, Giant Sand Worm, King Krush, Sabretooth Stalker, Charged Devilsaur, Giant Mastodon
just play spells and non-beast minions like Fire Fly and Mistress of Mixtures until you can drop the big things.
This space is intentionally blank.

Without card drawing and healing, control hunter is just an unviable dream. Hunters (or their opponent) cannot even survive to late games.
