Hm, well "Fill my deck with things I would never play otherwise and then hope I can get them out with an 8-mana legendary" doesn't seem like the best strategy to me, but I'll be interested to see people give it a try.
This would be so much better if it recruited a 'non-beast'. Then you could actually keep your cheap beasts in your deck instead of having to build a bad control deck to make this good.
potentially viable. like several others have said, this screams secrets to me. been playing a bit of secret nzoth hunter in wild and it's already not so bad.
It's a very late-game card, so we'll have to see if there's more support for a more late-game oriented Hunter deck. I was pretty saddened when Abominable Bowman didn't work out the way I thought it would have. I thought that card was the key to overcoming Hunter's weakness to Polymorph and Hex on its only powerful late game drop Savannah Highmane. I hope Hunter gets more strong mid and late game cards like Corpse Widow in the future, the class could use some more deck diversity.
For all the people that say Hunter always been aggro and won't change, think about this:
So far they have shown us a few hunter cards. Which all have been control cards:
-Crushing Walls; Deadeye; Katrhena; Secret.
With giving Hunter better removal; making it's hero power super flexible and adding in the DK and secrets it's pretty good for control and just doesn't have to be face. You could always make a deathrattle control hunter with N'zoth or even secret hunter.
The deck architypes where already here, just didn't had the tools. I think this new expansion will bring the tools neccassery.
It's a beast synergy card that wants as few beasts as possible in the deck. Since it recruits twice, you want more than two because you might draw them, so probably 4 beasts is the sweet spot.
Maybe it will just be thrown into hunter decks and not built around at all. Not terribly interesting or exciting in that case, but 8/8 stats with a couple more bodies ranging from 2/2 - 3/3 isn't terrible, and there's always the chance of a lucky Highmane.

deadeye is ARENA ONLY card it's not part of ANY set (yet)
I mean if you wanted to guarantee good pulls, just run Hemet. I know recent iterations of Tempo Rogue have run Hemet just so they could guarantee good late game topdecks.

Life before death. Strength before weakness. Journey before destination.
People are going to say this is only a control card and wont work, but I view it as a potential ender for a less beast reliant midrange hunter deck. Still prolly wont be great, but at least something new to experiment with.
If they want to make control hunter work, they gotta look at the midgame not the endgame.

I can see that being valid and fine, but the biggest flaw with control hunter was never turn 5+ but rather turn 3-4. It has failed to get the powerful tempo stabilizing cards necessary to combat aggro. Without those things, I doubt the control hunter meme will ever be real.

I'm actually really excited to try to (again) make a control hunter deck with a bunch of big beasts and Kathrena. Even if it may not be very strong you can definitely do some fun stuff with this card.

This is gonna be a fun card i think. I have Krush and Swamp King so im pretty excited.
You can make a deck that has a bunch of early game non-beast cards to control the board.
Sweet card!
Now if only Hunter was able to live to play it!

This one's going to fit perfectly in my nzoth Dino-hunter.
Fun! And therefore definitely not viable for ladder.

2 Savannah Highmanes are obvious choices, but what would the other two be? 2 Corpse Widows? Swamp King Dred + King Krush?
But avoiding low-cost beasts is pretty hard for a hunter deck nowadays... giving up Crackling Razormaw, Golakka Crawler, Vicious Fledgling, etc? I can't see that working out effectively.

Would be great in control beast hunter.
Too bad it will never exist.

I'm excited for it, it'll definitely introduce some interesting deck building choices!
For a slower hunter, there gotta be some taunt or lifesteal beasts. Otherwise, this card is too slow.

here's hoping hunter gets a new big beast, preferably w/ deathrattle...
