Hard to imagine this in a constructed deck. This guy has problems clearing 2 mana 2/3s and the next turn you are completely blocked. But maybe nice lategame from Stonehill Defender.
The low attack makes it pretty bad later, and on turn 3 it essentially has 4 overload, since there aren't many playable 1 mana cards that both fit in the same deck as this and would frequently be useful on turn 4. This thing needed to have at least one extra point of attack (3 attack lets it clear 2/3s like Arcanologist) or 1 less overload to be playable by itself, I think.
As is, I guess it's a reasonable taunt to combo with Ancestral Spirit in a similar way to Earth Elemental for a crusher-style shaman, and it being 3 mana upfront makes this possible 2 turns earlier. But outside of that I don't see it being constructed viable.
Deathlord stats... could be good in an aggro heavy meta but the overload is a severe drawback. Maybe my crafted Eternal Sentinels wont be useless anymore?
Well, the most obvious comparison IMO is Deathlord. That too was a 3 mana 2/8 taunt. So this stat line at this mana cost isn't new.
The question is, is overload (3) better or worse than a deathrattle that brings out a random enemy minion. Against aggro, I say the overload is worse. Against non aggro.....I don't know, it may still be worse. When played on curve, having 3 locked mana crystals on Turn 3 is just horrible. So, I kind of hate to say it, but I think it's a worse Deathlord. Though this is one of those cards that's pretty tricky to properly evaluate. I'm just thinking that on an 'on curve' basis, this seems pretty bad...
Lots of people have made that comparison.
The other thing to remember is that Deathlord deathrattle will sometimes help you, if it summons something which depended on a battlecry or which you didn't want to bring out so soon (ie, you might want to save Lyra the Sunshard for a big turn later, and have it summoned to be killed off early throws off your strategy). Three overload nearly always hurts and never helps.
The whole point of these overcosted early game taunts with a downside is the tempo loss for the opponent if they cant kill it.
Deathlord stats that prevent you from playing anything the next turn is not such a card. If face decks come back, this will see a resurgence, otherwise it wont.
I'd rather use Feral Spirit. 2 bodies instead of 1, 2 less total health, but 1 less overload. Plus wolves have synergy with Bloodlust, Flametongue Totem and all evolve cards.
It's nice, but the sad reality is that PW can actually probably punch through that stat line with a sad amount of ease on t3 or especially 4. Then you have to basically pass the next turn as they get/setup lethal on a good hand.
This is totally a Stonehill Defender nerf. The 3 overload makes it unplayable. Really its just an oversized taunt with a weak attack. Its a bad taunt... and its purpose seems to mainly weaken Shaman taunts just like Righteous Protector weakens Paladin's taunts. Dust and BOOOO...

Too situational and risky to occupy a deck slot.
Tar Creeper is just better.

Deathlord?! is that you?

Very good against priest kappa

Let me change your mind.
So for 2/5 you generally have a prime stats minion for 3. you are paying 3 overload for +3 health and a taunt. honestly seems bad.
Why u hav to be mad? is only card gaem.
The art looks way out of place for this set. Worst art so far
I think rat anyway better against aggro.
Can shaman get decent mid costed (2~4) elementals not booted to wild?
I'd rather play Sen'jin Shieldmasta, or Tar Creeper
3 overload for only 2 attack
For 2 more stats than tar creeper, you can pass your turn 4! Awful card, even against super aggro metas.
This is not a on curve play, unless you're desperate. Doesn't fit the current popular wide-board shaman. Then again, nether does Deathknight Thrall.
You have to learn the rules of the game. And then you have to play better than anyone else.

ok to bad in arena.

your paying overload 3 for 4 extra health
