It's like an Evolve for your spells. Sure you might get some garbage, but 1-2 good spells is worth it for some razor petals and coins. I could see playing this card in miracle. I don't think you could get worse spells in most cases. To go from a Razorpetal to a Fireball or Flamestrike, that's value. People will say that's a dream, but at some point you might get that swing turn. This could replace 1 Gadgetzan Auctioneer.
I think that the real strenght of this card is rerolling a bad hand of spells, like Sap against aggro matches.
Or when you're about to finish a game but you need just a little bit of damage to push through, but your hand consists of removal (Backstab, Fan ov Knives, Shadow Strike).
Sure, you might get completely screwed by RNG, but at least it gives you a chance, where not having the card would still leave you in a bad situation.
It's definetely not a card you play on curve and probably terrible in arena.
Meh. Renounce the darkness with a body that then requires a follow up for the discount (and only affects cards in hand at that moment). And we've seen how much renounce gets played...
I play Renounce all the time... but I don't win with it. This is a fun card. Like renounce. Like the new priest cards. Like the new mage x-mas tree. I get the feeling this expansion is full of fun cards... which means the meta is not likely to change much.
How is this a fun card?
I can see Benedictus being fun (shuffling an entire deck)
I see Renounce as being fun (trade in your whole deck for a random but discounted one) it does something no other card does on that scale
This card...does nothing fun...usually all it will do is switch out 2/3 rogue cards for random cards...no discounts, no bonuses, just trade them out.
Gratz you just played a yeti and essentally 2 hallucinations (only you had to ditch your good cards for the gamble....and you didnt even get to pick as its not discover)
Fun?
Do you know which other card was being played which just switched things out, without any discounts? Elise the Starseeker. Riddle me this, why would a control warrior switch out his cards for random cards that might not even be good or that don't synergize with his deck? You have to ditch all your good cards for the gamble that the legendaries you got were actually good.
The reason being that at some point or in some situations the cards you are running lose their effectiveness. Prep is a great card early in the game because it allows you to spend more mana in a turn than you would have but later it simply gets relegated to fodder for Gadgetzan Auctioneer where you are hoping to use it to cycle through your deck to cards that are MORE USEFUL. Guess what? In many cases the spells of another cards are vastly more effective than the ones of Rogue (barring the exception of a combo'd Eviscerate and maybe Backstab). And even those cards you can still end up cycling with Auctioneer if you really wanted to, albeit not quite as effective.
Basically you are trading in tools that grant tempo when there is nothing to give it tempo to or the tempo is not enough because you actually need more value.
The only way I can see this working is mid to late game. If you get through your combo cards early an extra coin or prep have less value (aside from draw). This could be used to generate extra value from lower impact cards. Still a massive gamble.
I wish they would place Mana caps on cards like this. A Coin becoming a Pyroblast ftw delights the winner and frustrates the loser. To much of this exists in Lotterystone. A Star on ladder they don't really deserve. The high variance cards that lead to Hearthstone Pros looking at their defeated opponents like they just got lucky + shoulder shrug, undermines their accomplishment.

Not disparaging Voss's power level but I really don't think this is a good comparison. Not only are random Legendaries on average going to have a higher power level than random class spells (especially when you could pull things like Shatter) but Control Warriors typically played the Monkey towards the end of the game in near top deck scenarios. In that situation you can pretty much always play the legendary minion you draw regardless of how good it is, but random spells are much less likely to be actually useful.
ehh i'll probably craft it because it's Lillian voss. i like her little story in the undead zone. she's kinda like the player, but she made a few mistakes along the way, and now she's trying to fix them.

And Elise could always create like 5 Cho's or Nat Pagels. Just because you are fixated on low rolls doesn't mean they are the only thing that are in the pool of available cards.
Secondly, most of a Rogue's spells lose their effectiveness towards the middle to later half of the game and get relegated to either combo activators or Auctioneer Fodder in the hopes of drawing cards that are more effective. As I said, the option to cycle them still remains, as does the option of using the cards to activate combos. Sure, that effect is diminished because there aren't as many 0 cost cards in the pool of available card but on average you are going to get more use out of a spell than you would get out of a counterfeit coin, a preperation, a backstab or a razorpetal.
Rogue spells all have very low impact at the cost of usually generating more tempo so when generating tempo isn't a sufficient solution you seek them elsewhere, in the realm of another classes spells. Because it could always be that you turned one of those coins or preps into a flamestrike or a brawl or similar. Sure, the powerlevel of Elise is a bit higher but you also had to go through hoops to get there. First you had to shuffle the map into your deck, then draw and play it and then draw and play the Monkey. Lilian is a more immediate and fast effect.

Because if you are trading in cards for legendaries you are not only doing it on an extremely high scale (your entire hand and deck) you are also doing it in a very narrow scope that is HEAVILY tilted towards game changing cards.
Legendaries in general have effects that have major swing effects and are all in all very very good cards (which is why you can only have 1 of in a deck)
Spell on the other hand are much more specialized in that they are usually designed to work with a class's theme (armor, freezing, etc.) Trading in 2/3 cards for random spells gives you a MUCH MUCH higher chance of grabbing crap than swaping out 10+ cards for random legendaries.
And no in many cases spells of another class are not vastly more effective than a rogue. Shield slam, shatter, freezing potion, pint sized potion, and on and on and on. There are so many spells that are so specialized for their specific class that the chances of you trading out prep for something better is slim...hell prep is probably more useful has auctioneer fodder than a shield slam you cant cast to begin with.
If burgle did not see play when it simply gave you 2 random cards (not just spells but minons as well). This card wont see play either because not only do you have to hold your spells (which are usually combo starters) just to ditch them, but you dont know what you are getting either and you get no extra cards from it.
This is a poor card. Shaku was underrated but the thing it has over this is that it generates a card, so did Xaril. This card requires you to ditch your spells for random ones. If it generated the cards that would be another story.
Not sure what to think of this card. I don't play Rogue, but I would assume her spells are important to her. But I like the the legendary fits with her archetype. Seems like a pretty good card.

How does it fit with the archetype?
Currently one rogue deck likes cheap spells that it can cycle through with auctioneer quickly...so it does not want random cards that could be high cost or outright unplayable (shield slam)
Another rogue deck likes cheap spells that is can revive sherizan with over and over easily and start a combo effect chain...it also does not want to risk trading in low cost spell for possible (likely) trash.
Current cards for rogue we have seen this xpac are 3 weapon based cards and a minon that give poisonous to another minon. Nothing in the standard rogue pool deals with this "get a card from another class" shtick save for swashbuckler and hallucinaion and shaku....all of which GENERATE a card without costing you to dtich your own.
If this was a legendary back in the burgle / peddler days then I coudl possible see it working (though again ditching cards has NEVER worked out) but its too late in this xpac.
this is great in miracle. in every miracle game there is that time in the late game in which u burned your swings and your hand and deck are useless spells. would make this hit the deck as well.... but a good card and i like the flavour of it.(lilian voss kinda had her life turned upside down)

You have to learn the rules of the game. And then you have to play better than anyone else.

Class legendaries: Rogue - Burgle, Priest - Steal, Warlock - Discard
Same ol' same ol'. They continue to not have a clue how to design these classes.
CCGing since '98.
This is a tech card for rogue vs mage and anything to take down the mage is good by me!
This feels like out-of-ideas Blizzard is just giving Rogue the Priest hand-me-downs and left-overs.
Playable card with solid stats
Lilian Voss Theorycrafting! This deck would be difficult to play but a lot of fun and has cool synergy.
Check it out - any ideas or suggestions are welcome:

Could be viable in flower rogue?
