screen from adventure of Black Rock. Blizzard's budget is very low
Oh noooooe, they plagiarize themself ..! :P Joke aside, I don't mind them re-using the same artwork, especially if it was for a card that never made it to a collectible version. Yes, they could and should have went an extra mile to get an original one, but on the other hand, it'll now be the moment to properly highlight the artistry and for this card artwork to shine. And I'm sure the golden version will be neat AF ^^
i think we need a new category in the Bingo: Most Vaguely worded card.
I normally side with Blizzard in matters of card wording, but this one really is terrible. There is plenty of room on this card to tell us where the copy goes. (Though I do think it's safe to assume it goes into your hand.)

3 mana draw a card... You need to get pretty creative to make this card be more than that. Especially with Molten Reflection as a usually much better alternative.
might be better than molten reflection for quest mage, might be worse., mayb both. will have to see.
Worse. Molten Reflection costs 2 or 1 mana for an additional Sorcerer's Apprentice. This always costs 5 mana, but can be spread over multiple turns. You may however end up running both.
Definitely a combo mage card... but I don't think it is a very good combo card. 3 mana draw one card isn't good enough for a value plan, it's a pretty poor replacement for duplicate in that regard. There is going to have to be a low cost minion that you absolutely must copy for this to be playable.

Simulacrum definitely has a niche. You don't have to play the minion you want to copy and the opponent will not know what minion it is.
Yep. That's why I used the word "usually". But the card you want to copy needs to be pretty damn good for it to be worth it because you still pay 3 mana for just one card. Kazakus would be a good example.

This card is 50/50. It could be good, but only in a few situations. 1. You're close to dying before you can combo off and haven't found an Apprentice/Molten yet. It gives you a 5th possible combo piece.2. It's really good if you hit it off any of the generate spells (Book, Glyph, etc).3. It allows a double Doomsayer turn.4. It's another spell for Yogg (for those that run Yogg), and could give you a 2nd Yogg). 5. It gives you another Giant to flight through taunts in the Giant Quest Mage.
Outside of Quest Mage, I really only see this as an addition to the Secret Mage aggro decks. Giving you access to more free secrets or draw secrets. The tempo loss is pretty bad though.

Or... maybe... try something else than copying a sorcerer's apprentice for quest mage..
This is a new expansion bro, experimentation is key.
Or... experiment with this card outside of quest mage. You can experiment all you want, but infinite damage is kind of hard to beat...

"What have you got there,
PinocchioMalygos?"Probably THE worst worded card I've ever seen
Double Kazakus in standard
I am not a Mage player, just thought my avatar would go with my name.

I am a big fan of mage spells but I don't like this one, maybe because I too used to Unstable Portal in Wild.

Is this work like Shiftee Zerus ?
Good way to ge tanother sorcerers apprentice. Even enables quest /kazakus

What about with ties? Exodia will run Sorcerer's Apprentice and Doomsayer, both at 2 mana. I'm guessing it's a coin flip?

Exodia mage will really be a thing now
