This card doesn't really have a place in any current mage deck. The issue isn't that a random mage spell is useless, mage can do a lot with random spells. The issue is that a 1/1 is fairly useless in mage. Without any way to properly utilize a 1/1, it will often be irrelevant, so you are better off just putting the spell you want in your deck. it doesn't even get you an extra spell for yogg.
The potential redeeming quality is that it does synergize well with brann, or any other battlecry synergy. But given as brann doesn't even see any play in tempo mage right now, I can't see raving grimoire + brann being worth including.
It may be a reasonable one-drop for Tempo Mage, I hope it is because having Mana Wyrm as your only t1 minion is annoying.
Also notice it is not a dead card lategame! If you draw it turn 10, you can just play it and ping it yourself, maybe you'll get exactly what you needed.

Webspinner saw play for 2 reasons. 1: Hunter has trouble dealing 1 damage, 2: The beast synergy. Mage has a hero power that deals 1 damage, and this card provides no relevant synergy.
A lot of people actually seem quite confused about what raving grimoire does for a deck. It isn't a "free" spell, it doesn't help you have additional spells in your deck, and only a very insignificant portion of the time will it give you the third copy of the spell you want. What it does is offer a trade-off. You can put a 1/1 for 1 in your deck that doesn't cost a card, but in exchange, you get a random mage spell instead of a mage spell you picked to put in your deck.
I would rather pick my own spell every time, since mage has very little use for 1/1s.

You prefer draw your Flamestrike in first turn, do nothing instead play a minion and maybe get a frost bolt? Really?
How many 1 cot minion in this game give you another card?
Mech 2/1 give you a weak part, webspinner give a beast (a random spell mage have much more chances to be better than a random beast) and...
All others minions with this ability cost 2 or more mana.
I think it could be a good 1 of in Tempo Mage. For those complaining about the 1/1 body, what are you expecting? it contests classes without ping, or who play a 2 health minion (Flame Imp, Hunter Drops, it does also contest argent squire), The good (random) battlecry mechanic means it's no more of a dead card turn 10, 15, 20 than it is on 1.
At the very least it's worth a look.

This honestly may bring tempo Mage back. The main issues with that deck are that it is slow to get on the board and it runs out of cards too quickly. This solves both, and honestly there aren't too many bricks with this card (Shatter and Ice Barrier are probably the worst, although most secrets probably aren't too great)
Remember when Novice got nerfed to 2 mana? Yes it's a random mage spell but most barring shatter and some secrets are super usable, this kind of inconsistently consistent tool generation (Yeah thats an awful way to put it but it's consistently gives you *something*) will almost always be included in any midrange-slow mage deck for sure.

this card gives you a random COLLECTIVE spell it's not comparable.. the closest card to this card is webspinner, but webspinner was good only cause it's a beast so it could also be a cheap activator to beast synergistic spells.. mage don't have much use of just a 1/1 ..

Even if those cards are subpar, it's still one more option that what you would've gotten if you didn't play them. it's not a free spell you put a 1/1 minion that costs 1 instead of that spell. you draw a 1/1 and pay one mana to play it only to get another spell
conjurer is good because it gives you a choice of the spell also got good stats in some situations (win more mostly or against control) The choice of the spell is a big deal.

that's one of the good scenarios but I am thinking on the average scenario where you get a spell you don't ever want (like shatter, or spell bender) yeah could be nice to get a 3rd fireball but it's a weak card overral I think it's overhyped and people don't analyse the tempo and consistancy loss playing such a card over just playing a spell of choice.
The other reasoning about "don't know which spell I want" isn't really logical.. cause if I build a deck I will put in the best cards for my strategy (in this case probably.. board control by cheap spells and spell synergy(tempo mage)) so If I can't decide which card I want in my deck then I failed at deck building.

All negative comments miss one thing.. this thing costs one mana. It's a perfect way to fit those holes in curve you ocasionaly have. Good card.

really great card. i think it will see a lot of play in tempo/casino mage decks.
If is a warlock card I agree with negative comments, have a lot of others good minions for 1 mana spot, for mage this is a must include.
We will see, any deck other than freeze mage run 2 of this one like mana wyrm.
