I'm on the fence about him in Tempo Mage. On one hand T1: Coin + ping to protect your T2: 3/2 is not a rare play and it never feels good but on another hand: you'd have to mess with your creature to spell ratio to make room for him, possibly shave something like MIrror Image which serve similar function and probably does it better (since it protects your dudes against weapons as well). Yes I know that he's both a dude and a spell but you can't rely on him delivering a 1-2 mana spell to go with your Wyrm and your Flamewaker. It just feels like you're giving up a lot by including him.
Amazing for mages, annoying, utter, shite for their opponents.

Look, I want to tell you something because you're very dear to me. And I hope you understand that it comes from the bottom of my damaged, damaged heart. You are the finest piece of ass I've ever had and I don't care who knows it. I am so glad that I got to roam those hillsides.
For the time being & with the current card reveals, Raving Grimoire seems to be a good card for its reasonable stats and its battlecry which, in theory, gives you a free Mage card on turn one which gives you plenty of time to think how to use it later on. If you play it late it could RNG you into that one card you need to win/end the game. The most unhelpful Mage I can think of that may not help you could be Shatter, Servant of Yogg-Saron, and Anomalus while other cards give you free damage, board presence, potential removal, and stall power. Therefore I like the cute 1mana 1/1 which is even smiling at us :D
T4te is horrible at making arguments and some of them are just wrong, but I agree that 1/1 is not a good tempo play, and therefor doesn't fit a tempo mage. This is a very good card for other archetypes tho'.
I like this as a value mage card. Generating spells is very powerful. We can run 6 different generation cards now and, if you ever get cabalist's tome, you just get more.
Considering the new mage spell, I wouldn't be surprised if value mage took off hard.
If it wasn't for Brann, I'd think this card would suck. A 1/1 provides almost no value for mage and the third one drop is less important than the first one. It'd be better to just run the spell you want.
Dunno.. wouldn't it be better to just include the spell you wanted to cast? you pay 1 mana for a wisp that "draws" you a card.. but it's not really draw.. it's more.. fetchs you a random spell..
No it isn't. With due proportion is like to say why paying 1600 dust for Dr. Boom when you can do the same with War Golem and the Wisp? You get a turn 1 play that give you a free card, potentially a game winning one, and even if it's shitty (Arcane Explosion, Shatter and stuff like this) you may still find the moment to make those cards shine.
but why not just include a spell in the first place? the only good thing this card can do is giving you a 3rd fireball..
it's rng.. why rely on rng when you just can put another dmg spell?
this card gives you barely any tempo if it was a 2/1 it would be viable but as a 1/1 it gives you nothing.. dr.boom gives you a huge board.. hwo this is even close?
this card gives you a random COLLECTIVE spell it's not comparable.. the closest card to this card is webspinner, but webspinner was good only cause it's a beast so it could also be a cheap activator to beast synergistic spells.. mage don't have much use of just a 1/1 ..
I would rather put a useful spell than getting a random one.. a lot of mage spells arne't that good.. the reason why cabalist tome is great is cause it gives you more steam when you run out of it this card is just a 1 for 1 so it doesn't do much..
Cause it's better to include the spell you want to draw.. this card is "play a wisp, pay 1 mana, get a random spell"
is playing a wisp really important? isn't just having a better no random spell better?
if it was "get a spell from your deck" that would be auto include on freeze mage..
^ how warlock? it's a mage card.
This card is a fantastic card, what the fuck are you talking about? Undercity Huckster sees play, why would you think a cheaper Huckster whose effect comes from Battlecry wouldn't?

Cause hukster can contest against other 2 drops (most of them are 3/2 now) also cause he synergieses with N'zoth.. a 1/1 doesn't beat popular 1 drops (mostly 1/3s) or any 2 drop. also huckster isn't played too much outside of N'zoth rogue.

More value cards for arena Mage... oh well atleast it's not common

I like Bunnies! (:3
insane card
this is a Novice Engineer/Shiv/Loot Hoarder/Slam for one less mana... this thing will be in every single mage deck ^^

So basically, you play this as a one of in tempo mage so that you dont auto lose when you dont get mana wyrm.
1 mana Novice Engineer is preeeeety good.

My mandibles which are capable of pressing down and tearing, my talons which are known to intercept and hold.
It's a solid card. It might even be a viable choice for a Warlock when playing a Dark Peddler.

Any mage deck except for freeze mage will run this card, only mana wyrm a 1 drop minion is not enough.
If novice enginner cost 1 mana instead 2 will see a lot more play.
Draw of a deck is a little better than receive a random spell mage, if is another class I agree is not great but mage have a lot of good spells.

Good name for the card, kudos.
Not sure if hyped yet.
The only downside of this card is not be a beast, a murlock or a dragon... :P
