This is a worse Echo of Medivh. Echo of Medivh didn't exactly set the meta on fire. Why does anybody think this card is going to have a major impact? It'll be played, for sure, probably in Reno warrior and other fatigue-oriented lists, maybe in some kind of combo warrior we can't even imagine yet. But it's not going to be a big deal.
It's way easier for warrior to use this kind of cards imo, and they generally have more impactful minions than mages, and reeeaaaaallly good targets to duplicate.
I'm surprised that nobody mentionned C'thun archetype yet. Duplicate some cultists ? Great. Duplicate that 7 mana 10 armor guy ? Great. Duplicate C'thun ? Great.
They might have more impactful minions, but it's objectively harder for warrior to use this card than it was for mage to use Echo. The requirement that minions be damaged is much, much harsher than people seem to realize. The cheapest reliable, controllable way to do it is with Whirlwind, in which case you've spent twice as many cards and the same amount of mana as you would on Echo. Warrior also doesn't have the HUGE advantage of being able to use (and duplicate) Sorcerer's Apprentice, a staple card in any Echo deck.
People keep saying "well, if I start the turn with a damaged X and Y on the board, it'll be great!" But any strategy that relies around "maybe I'll have this thing, and my opponent will damage it but not kill it, and then I'll have this other thing" is no strategy at all. Echo worked (when it worked—echo mage wasn't ever a world-beating deck) by reliably producing same-turn results: Molten Giant, Molten Giant, Sunfury Protector, Echo. Sorcerer's Apprentice, Sorcerer's Apprentice, Echo, repeat, OTK. It's just not going to work that way for warrior (although I will definitely try to make giants OTK with Blood Warriors work, don't get me wrong).
ROFL... meta defining? God tier? How are people so bad at this game and suck SO much at assessing cards? Its an interesting card, it may even be a playable and maybe some deck will use it to great effect but it will never shape the meta. Its not good enough. Its slow. You know what card also gives you extra cards for every damaged minion? Battle rage. The same card no one played before patron. Oh and it also draws an extra card for your face an it costs one less mana. Since you want to draw cards, cause theres a reason you put those in your deck in the first place, battle rage is better than this card in every scenario except fatigue and copying a bunch of chargers and/or immediate effect minions.
you are probably one of those people who said dr. boom sucked, just like all the pros did.
Nope, i wasnt. It was the first legendary i opened in GvG and i was extremely happy (until i opened a second one in the following pack). Im just good at this, unlike anyone who thinks this card will shape the game. You want a warrior card closer to "meta defining"? Just check the lowly common that was released yesterday. Great cards dont need to be flashy and normally its quite the opposite (see Boom).
Echo of Medivh was somewhat playable, and sometimes insane off of Ethereal Conjurer, but I don't see this card being nearly as busted as people are hoping, at least in Standard. With the loss of Death's Bite and its becomes much harder to set this up. You certainly can't just slam 2-3 minions and then play this, the must be damaged which means you have to play something that can activate this. That means you non only need an extra card, you have to play it with this rather than when you might actually need it against your opponent, meaning to me it only really gets good value in Patron. Yes its a touch slow, but it makes Patron super resilient. In Reno or even Control Warrior you have to land your big value minions, then land a spell or do some amount of non-lethal to the minion trading and then play this, and if you're just coping 1 big legendary this still isn't much different than a Faceless Manipulator or an awful version of Convert. I'm not totally panning the card, but I think people are forgetting that Battle Rage isn't always good, sometimes its great, but it at least draws you a card if you are damaged, this only works at drawing you your own damage minions, and it costs 1 more mana. Yes when it works it will be good, but it won't be as easy to make work as some people hope.
Start of the next cancer deck for sure. This card gotta cost more than 3.. It was essential for player to kill 4 cards in patron warrior which are 2 of Grim Patron and 2 of Frothing Berserker. Now, we have to deal with a lot more if this card is played. Imagine new patron warrior with Emperor Thaurissan.. It can create some cancer situations...
is this good in anything besides grim patron decks? control warrior doesn't usually have too many minions on board, much less damaged ones.
If you can use this to copy an armorsmith and an acolyte of pain after you whirlwind in the early game, it's pretty good value. Those cards often stick around for a couple of turns, so having that on the board around turn 4 isn't unrealistic. Mid to late game, it can be worth it just to copy a sylvanas or a ysera.

Ummm, Dr. Boom is kind of the definition of flashy, just people thought that the meta wouldn't likely support this random 7 drop. I'm somewhat like you, I don't believe the card is as amazing as many people seem to think, but I do actually think it could help define the meta. Getting even 2 more Patrons off this gives that deck a great ability to withstand board clears and beat control decks. That may prove not to be good enough, but I think there's a decent chance.

A pile of stats with a good deathrattle is flashy? You must live in a very boring world.
Not as great as it seems. This is a control warrior card that only really fits in patron. Maybe patron will become slower and use this card, but honestly, it doesn't seem that great.
Please explain why it only fits in patron warrior ? I can see control warrior and reno warrior making a great use of this card. Actually a way better use than just duplicating patrons to flood the board.. Do you mind telling me why i'm wrong ?
With pleasure, you have to have a board, damage a bunch of things on the board and these cards have to be of more value in total than a card slot after accounting for lost power from forcing in and damaging these cards. In wild, this isnt too tough because of deathsbite, but in standard, its nearly impossible. Even in wild, itis an average card draw that youd only use in more of a fatigue style of deck.
Well, I love that type of card but.... It's Echo of Medivh. With a warrior flavor to it, okay, but still, it's Echo of Medivh.
And well, it just doesn't feel right to see such an effect in a class other than Mage. Duplicating things is one of their core themes. Now I love these type of cards that open new possibilities for the classes, but I must admit this is a card I'm not that happy to see. Even if it is a bit worse, I don't like seeing one of my favorite mage cards in warrior. It's feels wrong and it's a bit... Disappointing...
Honestly I don't get it.
-Echo of medivh is one of your favorite mage cards
-Echo of medivh is leaving standard
-They give a reprint of your favorite card to another class in standard
-You hate this card because it's not in the same class as it used to be
I mean, unless you only play mage, or you hate warriors, you should be pretty happy right ? Who really cares about the flavor ? "blalbalbalblalba"
Well, him and I care about the flavor, that's the point LOL
PogChamp Fatigue Warrior
Broken with the new ghoul, so broken man
Feels like something that might be a 1-of in fatigue/control.
Wow, shit. Awesome card.
Will have a place in C'Thun Warrior, maybe? Copy the cultists and defensive cards like Ancient Shieldbearer

So it's echo for patron warrior?
The Nexus comes to the Inn with my set of Heroes of the Storm Legendaries!

I don't see this as a midrange card. You don't need Patrons in your hand; you need them on the board.
It's interesting to hear all the control players think of uses for it, because for me it screams aggro: spam hand, whirlwind, refill.
Copying Berserker when a growing one is already on the board...could get out of hand fast.
Improvised deck, can it work? (?)
Mill! Mill!
