It's Turn 3, damn it. Doesn't matter what deck you're playing you're just doomed from that point on unless you specifically made a deck to counter this BS, and just managed to draw everything that you needed to.
Don't worry guys, Blizzard will nerf Pirates eventually, just gotta wait 6 months more.
Good morning, blizzard announced balance patch coming late february. It's coming after 3 months, still long but an improvement over 6+ months. I hope it decreases down to 1 month.
This deck would also lose horribly against renolock, dragon priest etc. Just not spectacular like this.
Well, I guess I did miss it then. :P But still, it's been quite a bit since launch of the expansion and I'm sure this Pirate fiasco will result in a bitter taste for anyone that remembers MSG.
Yeah, I played Renolock wild vs aggro warrior the other day, played Second-Rate Bruiser, Dreadlord, Sludge Blecher and had Reno in hand, and lost before I could play Reno. I even had my acidic ooze and Ancient Healbot in my hand as well but couldn't play them.
Three taunts, a total of 6 anti-aggro cards, and still couldn't hold out until Reno. That's busted.
PW is overpowered against some classes/decks, but loses hard to any deck that has a fair amount of cheap removal. Reno mages and locks tend to stomp them, as do most varieties of shaman decks.
The big issue right now is that with the sole exception of Shaman every other class has to build decks to counter PW that kind of suck against anything except aggro. The game needs more early game defensive tools that can slow down aggro. I sort of like the idea of a cheap minion that has a battle cry of "your opponent cannot attack next turn".
If you think that's totally fine and healthy for the game you must be retarded. I feel sad for you kiddo.
A plain old budget Face Hunter (which has been around literally since the beginning of Hearthstone) would destroy this weird C'Thun Mage nonsense almost as fast. This deck losing horribly to aggro? Yes, that is totally fine and healthy for the game.
If C'Thun Mage were somehow favored against aggro, THEN we'd have a serious problem.
You clearly have no clue of what you're talking about and you totally missed my point.
3/2 + 3/3 taunt + 2/1 and 1/1 charge + 1/3 + 3/2 weapon on turn 3 without the coin. Yup, that's totally fine and healthy... but only if you are mentally challenged and you don't care about having a good game.
I've been playing since closed beta and I can safely say that this is the most cancerous meta since Undertaker.
But you're right, losing by turn 3 is such an amazing experience, so fun and interactive...
Here's an idea for a new card, it will make the game even better:
The funny thing is, if I've worked my sequence of play through correctly, I think the Pirate forgot to attack with Patches first turn. That's assuming he actually is on 13 not 12, we only have his word since the cards cover his hero.
Turn 1 Bucc+Patches, 1 damage (29)
Turn 2 War Axe, face 7 damage (22)
Turn 3 Upgrade (4 to Axe), Deck hand, Corsair, Finley, Face (3 for Buccaneer + 2 from Deck hand + 4 from Axe + 1 from Patches) 10 damage (12)
The Hearthstone version of a large group of diseases characterized by the growth of abnormal cells beyond their usual boundaries that can then invade adjoining parts of the body and/or spread to other organs
And everyone who coins out a Doomsayer to deal with aggro deserves to lose...
Sometimes is the only option, when you have a shit start hand like 2 Azure Drake and Ysera after chance all cards and Doomsayer is the only low cost card and your opponent open the usual small-time + patches...
The fact is, if aggro can deliver 7 damage, with no spell, in turn 2 and can do this again in turn 3 with no aditional cards then is broken.
Undertaker pre-nerf cannot do that and needed nerf.
Is just the nature of the game aggro is designed to beat control. Yes is annoying sometimes but not invincible, but if you are playing a deck that is not well constructed in ladder, don't expect to have fun with it because it will get crushed by the more consistent decks.
To you question "What the hell is this?" I should answer you "Who the hell plays C'Thun Dragon Mage?"
If you want to try some decks just play casual, or play ladder but don't get salty if you lose to higher tier decks. Don't tell me you were expecting to go 20-0 with that deck.
every one is crying bcoz of these Pirate shit, actually problem is not the pirates , problems is when they announce new expansion they release crap load of other cards which does not synergies with the other card synergy like the pirate does. Ben brode is at some point 100% right but whatever is this , next expansion or the adventure will define the game's future. If the next one gets fail Ben can sit back at home and start taking selfies of his rich life untill he breaks down,

Actually, your point was extremely unclear, and you are bad at posting.
In English, we have things called pronouns and antecedents. Unless some clarification is made to the contrary, a definite pronoun (such as the word "that" in your post) refers to the noun or sentiment that immediately preceded it.
In the case of the post I quoted, your "that" would most reasonably be seen as referring to Gosphor's sentiment quoted by you: "Playing a weak deck and then losing to a strong deck = Salt."
So it makes perfect sense that your statement was seen as a condemnation of this particular Mage deck losing this matchup. Without further clarification, your reader has no way of knowing that your outrage is directed at Pirates generally, as opposed to this specific situation, which any decent Hearthstone player would tell you is a bad one for the Mage.
Furthermore, there is some hypocrisy in your claim that I missed your point, since you took my post as a support of the current meta rather than an analysis of this particular matchup. At no point did I say that the Pirate meta is a healthy one. My entire point was that midrange decks tend to lose to aggro decks, so this particularly bad midrange deck is going to lose to any aggro deck at all, regardless of the current state of the meta.
1. Midrange lists are supposed to be good against aggro and frankly, with the top deck being aggro shaman with a rough 53% win ratio... they are seemingly doing a magnificant job doing that for the most part.
2. Control decks are always supposed to be weak against aggressive decks in a format where sideboarding does not exist in a best-of-1 format (something which is a good thing for if Hearthstone had a best-of-3 ladder... uh-uh, not a pleasant thought - aggressive decks or not).
What? No.
Aggro beats Midrange beats Control beats Aggro. Look it up if you don't believe me.
Most C'Thun decks are midrange, playing minions on curve until the big C'Thun win condition.

I could pick apart your argument, but there's no point. A simple Google search will show you many, many articles that explain the relationships among the deck styles.

Stay thirsty my friends
I'm just astounded that your homebrew Dragon C'thun (probably Reno) Mage lost to a refined meta deck. Shocked.

before gadgetzan : oh blizaard plz give us more pirate cards, we are pirate fans... we need more pirates ...
after gadgetzan : what the hell are these pirates ? blizzard plz delete all pirates from the game .
Actually to be fair to the OP no matter what type of deck you are playing, getting reduced to 12 health on turn 3 is ridiculous.
