I recently started tracking games on HSReplay, and I noticed that out of my last 27 games, only 19 made it to my 9th turn, with 16 wins and 3 losses. I played Lord Jaraxxus in 5 of those games, had 3 games where I never drew him, and had him in my hand at the end of the game for the remaining 11 games (all of which I won). Of the 8 games that ended before turn 9, Jaraxxus was a dead card in my hand for 4 of them.
3 out of the 5 games where I played Jaraxxus were in the Renolock mirror (2 wins, 1 loss), and my opponent had also played Jaraxxus by the time the game ended in each case. Jaraxxus healed me out of Pirate Warrior range in one game, and was played in desperation against a Jade Druid in another.
This is likely too small of a sample size to be statistically significant, but based on these results, Jaraxxus has only been useful in 3/27 games, and has sat in my hand taking up space in 15/27. This raises the question: is Jaraxxus still good in this meta, or is it worth replacing him with something more useful in the 15/27 games where he doesn't do anything?
If he should be replaced, what with? (Of those 27 opponents, there were 6 Jade Druids, 5 Face Shamans, 4 Renolocks, 3 Pirate Warriors, 2 Dragon Priests, 2 Jade Rogues, 2 Miracle Rogues, 2 Midrange Shamans, and 1 Midrange Hunter).
Lord Jaraxxus is the only reason as to why RenoLock is favored against Priests. If you cut it you would have a bad match-up (instead of just having favored and 50/50 matchups)
Right now, Jaraxxus is probably the best he's been in ages. With all its new toys, Renolock is now king of the ladder and as others have said, Jaraxxus is one of the main win conditions against certain match ups, especially dragon priest.
Everyone seems to be playing pirate warrior for now but that will change once the novelty wares off. CW Will still be a thing which will make Jaraxxus even better.
Some people may decide to cut him but if you like him, then I don't think there's even been a better time to play him (in the more recent metas at least)
Typically, Our Lord and Saviour Lord Jaraxxus was a win condition against Control Warrior and Priest. If your local meta doesn't have them, I think it's a good choice to replace him with a tech card improving your bad matchups.

Playing Hearthstone in German solely for Garrosh sounds. Sieg oder Tod!
Jaraxxus is a heal against aggressive decks and also a game finisher against control. I have something like a 90% winrate against all priest decks and other renolocks and most of those wins came from jaraxxus closing out the game.
I've always been a fan of him, but in this new meta I'm not really sure. Of course he's amazing when you play him, but I find him sitting in my hand a lot of games. I recently tried replacing him with Alexstrasza because:
In my personal experience, he's still very good: makes your matchups vs priests and jade druids so much smoother, as you have another big win condition that they simply cannot deal with. It's the typical high risk / high reward card, very strong against decks that do not have a lot of burst (like the 2 i mentioned before).
Sometimes he feels useless in your hand, but still, I'd rather have him all the time and choose if and when to play.
And, last but not least, spamming OBLIVION is too good to pass ^^

Apparently, Hearthpwn won't save your signature if it's empty.
interesting you encountered so few priest decks. in a matchup vs control or reno priest jaraxxus is your mvp
I guess you should not play Renolock without Lord Jaraxxus.
now you mention it, I remade my old handlock with few addons here and there just yesterday and I climbed prety easily thanks to Lord Jaraxxus too.

More research is needed, but most pros seem to agree that not playing Jaraxxus is better, as Brann+Kazakus is enough to win any control matchup.
When Emperor rotates out, and the combo is not possible anymore, I expect him t make a big comeback.
I will still play Jarx, though... he is still an awesome card, and he reminds me of the old combo handlock.

Missing lethal since June 2015.
Literally just won a match with Jaraxxus before checking this thread. Great card still.
I'm saving up dust to craft him, he's still good and I really wanna take Renolock for a spin.
I've no clue what I'm doing...
This has to be a troll thread.
After Rheno Jackson cycling out "soon", Jaraxxus will be seen more in warlock and probably Alexstrasza too again.
Though Jaraxxus been a stapel in most control warlocks anyway since ... beta (probably alpha).
I think it's a valid question.

in my renolock combo-deck i use Alexstrasza instead of Lord Jaraxxus because of three reasons
- obviously to get my opponents live low enough for the combo
- i can use it on my own live if needed
- the 8/8 body on the board, regardless of how i use it

Lord Jaraxxus is anyway a good finisher when you know that the opponent has used all of his burst
If you have to ask that question, then you are not worthy of my services.
