My main hassle is to actually get the required combo pieces together, before dying. I feel like I can pull the combo off in my sleep, if I found the cards, but to actually get there against all the Zoo decks feels like a coin flip.
Also: What's the highest damage you can do, with the basic ressources, 3 dead cards and no taunts, to waste the Vivid's on? Basically with this?:
I'm able to get four 16/1 boars, for a total of 64 damage. Is there a way to do more? It feels like you have to have a minion on the opponent's side, to really get into the high numbers.
EDIT: Figured it out how to do 130 instead of 64 :D You forfeit two board spaces earlier by duplicating two 1/1 boars... this gets you another Test Subject cycle and you end up with two more Divine Spirits... so you'll have two 64/1 boars and two 1/1 boars.
Oh, you don't have any idea how much I agree with you.
I started playing hs since late LoE, but I read some threads and watched some viodes about previously popular decks. One of which was the Patron Warrior, which required a lot of cycle, mana reduction and a good pilot to function. People talked about how the deck had low win-rates because of the average user, but in the hands of a good player it has been a real nightmare.
I didn't face a topsy priest yet, but I fear that if the meta slows down, this deck will pop up a lot. OTK priest decks have very good cycle abilities - acolyte of pain, wild pyromancer, cleric, circle of healing and tutors (shadow visions and not the 4 mana 2/4 drawing elementals dude).
Sooo I completely agree with you that this deck has a lot to offer and the win-rates don't show the whole picture.
[edit] I read comments mentioning the inability of going through taunts. Well, this card exists - Mass Dispel.
Someone made it to top 16 of the ongoing HCT tourstop as part of an anti-control lineup with quest rogue. It didn't do well on stream (we got to see the pilot fail the combo) but making it to the top 16 is no small feat in itself. This deck is not a joke

HCT Germany ?
Neirea brought a Topsy turvy priest but was eliminated in group stages. The other priest deck was a Mecha'thun priest by Dizdemon, he made it till the quarterfinals.
Topsy priest is a strong combo but I have not been beaten by it yet. One time my opponent got the combo with 2 16/1 boars but they ran out of rope before they could attack. I've been running mechathun priest and have around a 60% winrate. I think machathun priest is a more reliable combo deck right now. Perhaps once people get good with the combo, topsy will be scary.
Just asking: wouldn't Abomination ruin the combo if it is on the board? because you have to topsy your boars, and attacking into abomination kills them off? Or do I miss something? Not that it matters, never actually encountered the deck on ladder ...
No, it wouldn't. You simply buff your Boar with double Divine Spirit after Topsy Turving and duplicate your 64+ attack Boar to charge it into the abomination. It's similar to how you'd approach it if you suspect an opponent to have an Explosive Trap up.
So? What is everyone's experience with the deck?

Taunts don't really matter. Even in the worst case scenario the OTK is able to clear 4 taunts, before going face.

The deck is fine. It has a reliable win condition, but it is pretty tough to execute the combo correctly.

You can have 3 Stonetusk Boars with 256 damage each. That's how you bypass taunts.
This is why hearthstone needs more disruptive cards like in wild.
