I like this card overall.It gives warrior a good board if not removed and for the opponent one more minion to get rid off.Not best stats but i think there won't be a problem..I definitely gonna try this card.Seems legit!
Good card, i imagine it used in similar fashion as acolyte of pain, where you only play it when you're about to trigger a whirlwind effect.
The bigger question is, which deck type would it fit in, cause its definitely not for pirate warrior or taunt warrior. Seems a bit too long winded for control warrior either.
some compare this to Imp Gang Bosswhen its severely worse. If this card gets 1 shot then you get nothing...realistically yu will only get MAYBE 1 proc from this
There are multiple ways in which warriors can extract quiet a lot of value from this card. Imp Gang Boss was a very strong card and warrior has plenty of ways to get more than 1 goul out of this one. I would be suprised if it would not see at least some play.
I think this card is bad for one very good reason, 2/2 minions. Lots of people I see in the chat keep saying "Wow I can just fill the board up"... but really... CAN YOU DO THAT?? Each time you use a whirlwind like effect (which is the way 90% of most players would be able to activate it), you would get a 1/4[-1 = 1/3 Health] and a 2/2. The next time you use your whirlwind effect you get 1 1/3 [-1 = 1/2 Health] and a 2/2 and a 2/1. But that's it. Two ghouls is the maximum value you can get out of the card because additional whirlwinds will kill the 2/1 (thus ending the cycle). So then comes the true question, would you rather run a card that keeps spawning you 2/2's or would you rather run Acolyte of Pain and draw a card.
You can use Blood to Ichor (1 mana, will spawn two 2/2s) or Inner Rage (0 mana, will spawn one 2/2) as the initial activators before going off with one or two Whirlwind effects.
Obviously they'll never have the same potential as Grim Patron since you can only damage each ghoul one time, but at only 3 mana, you can still do minitature versions of Patron combos and you won't need Thaurissan for discounts to pull them off. It should still be fairly easy to buff a Frothing Berserker up to 11+ attack, to generate 11+ armor with an Armorsmith, or to draw 6 or 7 cards with Commanding Shout and Battle Rage.
Assuming of course that the meta allows for a Patron-style deck to exist in the first place.
I dont think that would be the correct way to play this card. I would try to combo it with Cruel Taskmaster or Inner Rage. This way it spawns a goul and becomes more of a threat itself, plus your oppenent kind of needs to remove it with one card/trade to prevent more gouls. Of course this is usually not the problem but it forces an immidiate reaction which is always good from my experience.

But tbh I miss those deck and old Warsong Commander...
Yes, I miss it too, in some ways, but lets all remember why it was nerfed in first place ; for being way too broken - OTK out of nowhere kind of broken - I miss it as much as it made me cursed back then, but we are better without. It must have been such a bummer for game design, now imagine the possibilities .. such as this card!

I don't think you remember the discussion correctly... It had a winrate below 50% overall, only the people who were skilled with the deck got 90% or something, and blizzard was like, skill can't affect the game. Needs nerf. It was not overpowered though overall.
It was an incredibly stupid nerf too, all they had to do was change Warsong Commander so that only minions that HAVE 3 or less attack have Charge, and they lose it if they go above 3. So Cruel Taskmaster or Inner Rage disqualify a new Patron from attacking immediately, and no more 1-turn 25-damage Frothing Berserker kills. There. That's fair.
I honestly think warsong commander needed to be nerfed to make it so blizzard could have more design space anyways. It was just way to constricting on cards that generate tokens but can't be good because they have to play around the combos the cards can have with the commander
didnt they say in the end, that they had to nerf warsong commander because of dreadsteed?
or did i remember incorrect?
(besides the obvious nerf things with patron and warsong) - it was something about the designspace and i kind of remember, that dreadsteed had a role there - which is kinda funny, because it is getting nerfed now
