yeah i don't see how the original form would be a problem in wild. plenty more broken stuff there. and it's not like hunter had any tier1 (or even tier 2 i think) wild decks in the last years.

posted a message on New and Returning Player Decks

Inspired by this wonderful thread (tbf I would be malding as well if I actually only got two packs on returning):
    https://www.hearthpwn.com/forums/hearthstone-general/general-discussion/255195-gone-6-months-2-packs-to-welcome-me-back

I was wondering whether there will be new decks for returning players. Seems pretty likely, patch 27.0 and 28.0 introduced new decks. Probably smarter to wait for expansion launch to return. Anyone got more info on that front?
(Or did I miss something and two packs is actually the reward now lol)

That's a cool idea, really bad, but fun. I'll try pulling this off atleast once. Will build that completely different through.

I don't see a reason for it to be a highlander deck and it lacks defensive options. You have to survive till they are close to fatigue as well, so this deck should focus purely on surviving. Might cut the quest as well, makes the starting hand worse (but could be useful for comebacks). I think a big Zul'Jin might be useful.

Anyway, thanks for the idea! :)

If there are enough good hunter cards to make a decent highlander deck, chances are there will be a more dominant hunter archetype that performs better in every aspect. And I don't see a highlander hunter filling a specific niche of an archetype that couldn't be made better by just running a normal deck.

That said, I'll still be trying it out, just because. Voted 'playable'.

If it ever rotates out of Standard, you will be able to dust it at that point.

How did I not think of that.

So, if you don't care about getting the dust now or later it would still be worth to get? :thinkingemoji:

Hmm, I must be either blind or really bad at researching, because I couldn't find if Zayle is a promo or reward card.

First would make it forever undustable while the second would allow dusting after the 2020 rotation. But it might also be an exception?

Anyone that can enlighten me on this?

First impression, bad deck. You should focus on what your goal is with your deck building. You want to SMOrc opponent down, don't play ooze. It is useless.
Two Militia Commander  please, it is so core. and the Darius Crowley. Not a fan of the Elite (4 mana 4/3 charge), just run Grommash. Play some bomb cards and run the 7 mana doctor bomb (summon 2 x bombbots with bombs in enemy deck). This card is awesome in SMOrcing.

Sul'raze is useless. Cut it down with the new bomb weapon please.

Put one warpath in this deck, for the potential Berserker burst.

And, 1-2 battle rage for card resources please.

I don't think you understand what his deck is trying to do and which decks it is trying to counter.

The Warpath suggestion is decent though, depending on what you're facing on ladder. Grommash seems good as well if you put in the Warpath/s and some draw, but then it becomes a different kind of deck.

Originally 3 Mana, then 4 Mana (and +1/+1 buff to the mech selected) now 3 Mana again, because it has more flavor like this. I will pretend that Omega Devastator does not exist. :)
At 3 Mana a single one of these will result in 6 additional Omega Devastators (from hand) 12 Infinifactory cards played in total (when used on an existing board or a 1-drop from hand).

wait you guys are ok with this cheater competing at worlds ??? and you also voted for him ??

    damn this community is rotten

I don't know how it's for others, but I personally am not rooting for him as a person but rather for what he represents. Blizzards lack of common sense(*). Let him win and rain feces onto Blizzard.

    (*Well and for the packs.)

Weasels and liars never hold the field, so long as good people stand up.   You will rue the day you bet your precious packs on this miscreant.

I mean, that's a nice statement, I agree with that. But I prefer him winning just so Blizzard learns from their mistake. For some reason they still did not realize what they are doing.

Meh... I chose him as my champion, hope he wins the tournament!!! :D

I have a feeling that Fortuna will be on his side. Maybe I just want to see Blizzards reaction to the shitstorm if he wins.

And ignoring all of that, I can say that he's definitely a good enough player to win that thing, I liked his lineup.. and I need the Packs. So he got my vote.

Now I'll wait. For the shitstorm. It's gonna be glorious.

(But really, what the hell is Blizzard doing lol)

Yeah, the list hasn't aged very well, but Mech Mage itself is decent.

Sure, Mech Mage always works. That version doesn't seem very up-to-date, but minion spam always works against some decks.

Odd midrange: I dont like oondasta here. That's a card for scumbagging devilsaurs King Krush etc. Getting a 3/12 or worst is pretty meh. I like that you have witch's cauldron. I did that recently in a normal quest deck. Some silly stuff can happen. It's more of a risky in hunter than lets say lock/rogue/pal because hunter doesnt have a way to buff it unless youre gonna run arena fanatic in your deck(which in an odd deck you couldnt anyway). I feel like its close to being s decent deck. I might try something similar and comment later.

Even Mech hunter:This is refreshing. It's totally new.

Even Kathrena:Looks kind of standard, you just lost play dead and terrorscale.

Oondasta and Kathrena don't need their typical scumbag decks and op support cards to work.
Oondasta cheating out a 3/12 taunt is pretty amazing for Hunter, being a class that is really bad at fighting from behind. Also good at getting that clunky-ass mofo Baku out of your hand, in case you missed that. Rarely Halazzi + Tokens get in your way of playing it, but that basically never happens.
Same with Kathrena. Even 1 big beast is alot of stats and is annoying to remove thanks to the deathrattle.
As you said even and odd get carried by their heropowers, in return for a deck with worse cards and synergies.

    About the decks.
Odd Midrange plays differently than you would expect. Not always of course as some decks just need to be pressured down fast. But many matchups can be played slow and be won just by grinding out the opponent with board control + hero power, hence the amount of defensive minions and spells. Gladiators Longbow looks weird, but it's 16 damage over 2 turns with the hero power + 8 leftover mana on the second turn. It's a decent finisher and works well with the "grind out" gameplan.
Sadly if you want to make this deck better, or rather more consistent, you would have to take out the Witch's Cauldrons, but I refuse because of obvious reasons. There is not much that is more satisfying than a Unleash + The Storm Bringer Combo.

Even Mech.. "This is refreshing. It's totally new." No, it's not. It's just Mech Hunter with less Mechs and in worse (not that Mech Hunter was any good to begin with). Only good when cheesing out Giants or Rexxar autowins. Still fun in it's own weird way.

Even Kathrena: How is the mech variation totally new and refreshing when this is not. It's not supposed to be a big hunter. Kathrena is just lots of stats. It actually has similarities to the Odd Midrange deck in that it tends to play the control type of game.
Admittedly, the deck was missing the Vicious Scalehide because I build it quick out of memory, my bad (fixed the decklist). They are part of the core that keep you alive against Aggro/Midrange together with Dire Frenzy & Secrets and are the reason for the inclusion of Witchwood Piper (which didnt make any sense in this deck without them lol).
