Dr. Boom, Mad Genius
There is definitely some questions about how this card works, so here's the deal!
- Dr. Boom's Hero Power is randomized every turn. It randomizes on your opponent's turn so they can see what to expect.
- You can never get the same hero power in a row.
- Dr. Boom does not appear in the Arena.
These are his different emotes.
- Greetings: "Here comes the BOOM!"
- Well Played: "You. You're good."
- Thanks: "Thanks! I'll destroy you last."
- Wow: "NICE!"
- Oops: "Huh. Failure IS an option."
- Threaten: "Don't make me push buttons!"
Here are his five different hero powers.
Puzzle Lab
The Puzzle Lab will become available starting August 21.
When you experience The Boomsday Project’s free single-player content, The Puzzle Lab, you’ll discover that science is fun! And dangerous! Not necessarily in that order! You’ll need to get your security clearance before you can gain access to these secrets, though.

New Card Backs
Below are two new card backs for The Boomsday Project. A pre-purchase exclusive back featuring Mech Jaraxxus and a card back available through the solo PVE content, Puzzle Labs.
Zero characters from actual Warcraft lore if you don't count twisted versions of C'thun and Dr. Boom. Why blizz..?
I remember Brode saying I think around WOTG that they were going to be slowly steering things away from using a lot of Warcraft lore. Honestly, I don't care as much if they go and make cool legendaries using warcraft lore stuff as long as they print quality cards that stir up the meta and a third Hemet legendary (or a skin, I'd buy that in a heartbeat).
Subject 9 is an actual lore character. It doesn't change your point much but hey, pedantry.
The game isn't called "Heathstone: Heroes of Warcraft" anymore for a reason. They merely use the same base setting as Warcraft but care not for the canon or lore or characters anymore, as that gives a lot more freedom. Mean Streets was the first expansion you could really tell that was the case, as Gadgetzan was made to be some big metropolis with giant street gangs and not a small camp in the middle of nowhere. Things like Ragnaros, Lightlord were also obvious pointers that lore is being ignored now, as is the shift in art direction since also basically Gadgetzan.
as someone who never played WoW i agree. I wish they used more lore characters often.
I just want Dr. Boom and the 18-Deck Legendary.
I've always wanted to try so many mech decks in gvg and always felt it fell short. Now though!!! there just might be hope!
no dragons this time .... PepeHands
Magnetic Bomber
Here's my theorycraft on a Goblin Bomb deck, filled with Magnetic & Mech synergy. Leaning towards building strong boards & combo threats as opposed to being too Deathrattle focussed.

Please I hope someone can answer me this question very reasonably and without hype and down to earth
Why there is no a single tech card to help counter anything? Any malygos combo or any shudderworck or anything?
I think the better answer is to aggro those decks like that they can't set up their combo. Honnestly with all thoses little mechs I'm pretty sure aggro will come back !
Bro, I don't like playing aggro. It's too unskilled and unfunny to me. I like playing control, but with those combo decks it is an auto-lose, and it's so annoying that they haven't provided any tools for control to be able to face a bit those cancer combo decks.
If aggro is the solution keep your stupid kid card unskilled RNG casual game for you, thank you
They should move Dirty Rat to classic set so is available forever its such a good card and gives you the chance to survive against Combo/Otk decks
You are totally right. That's why I was shocked when they didnt print another similar one after 4 months of auto-losing against cancer shudderworck and 8 months against kingsbane.
They said they dont like combo otk decks but now there are even more and more solid.
True they should have but they didn't. We will see maybe the game becomes to broken with the new expansion if combo/otk decks rule the meta so they will be forced to do something cuz like they said they don't like combo/otk decks lol ...
The thing is that if combo/otk decks rule the meta we will be suffering for 2 months at least before they do something.
I hate that card immensely. Yet sadly I have to agree, it should be moved to classic.
the upcoming Azelina change is going to help against shudderwock, as for the maly decks I guess warlock is gonna become super good with their new project
hate that card immensely. Yet sadly I have to agree, it should be moved to classic.
What change on Azalina ?. i didn't see anything about that
Warlock got a specific combo counter card, Mage potentially got one by overdrawing the opponent, Warrior can take out any combos involving Twig of the World Tree easily now and the other classes seem very aggressive as to rush down the enemy. There's no Dirty Rats, unfortunately, but they definitely included some amount of potential counterplay.
