Shaman is still on top of the food chain. To be fair though, I thought that for the wrong reason: I thought it was because pre-MSoG Midrange Shaman would remain unchallenged but I didn't expect Aggro Shaman to make a comeback.
Rogue didn't turn out to be MSoG's garbage class. Yes, the class did receive the worst class cards in MSOG but it's not like you're limited to those. You have to look at cards from other expansions as well as neutral cards (looking at you Patches and STB).
Priest made a comeback but didn't turn out to be MSoG's new cancer class as other announced.
The meta didn't slow down. Pre-MSoG meta was midrange-midrange-midrange. Today's meta is a fight between pirate (hyper-aggro) and reno (control) decks which means that on average the meta didn't slow down.
Paladin still sucks.
What I was wrong about:
I thought the Kabal would fail miserably. By far my biggest mistake. Reno decks' control tools turned out to be able to stop an aggro/midrange fiesta.
I thought Warlock was going to be the worst class. Obviously linked to the above point. To my defense, since I didn't expect Renolock to work, I based my judgment on Zoolock which did become a weak archetype.
I thought Jade Lotus was going to be the best gang. Still half-true in the sense that Shaman uses jade cards, but only peripherically. "Pure" Jade decks like Jade Druid and Jade N'Zoth Rogue were overhyped.
I thought Goon Taunt Warrior and Goon Beast Hunter would be decent decks. Not tier 1, but decent. They're nowhere to be found.
I thought Hunter was one of those classes that could never suck by virtue of the face being the place. Turned out Hunter is out-SMorced by pirate decks and out-valued by reno decks. I still think it is a temporary state that will only last this expansion since the class still has the potential to be a powerhouse. All it takes is a 1-or-2-mana weapon and here you go, Hunter can now use pirate synergy and is back into the SMorc fiesta. This is not true for Paladin.
I thought Dirty Rat was utter gargage. It's now staple in Reno decks. Again I didn't expect reno decks to work so I couldn't imagine it being played.
I thought Maly/Yogg/Token Druid would remain a tier 1 deck due to Yogg being an answer to everyting. Still not 100% sure why it's not the case.
I don't think I had any under the radar picks, like from previous expansions I saw that spirit claws, maelstrom portal, and councilman would all be super sick. But I missed Small time Buccaneer like everyone else. Related to that was if you told me pre-MSOG that Druid would go to the dumpster I wouldn't believe it, but yeah the aggro has gotten too intense for druid to handle. They probably need something like pre-nerf keeper of the grove to have a chance at keeping up. Aside from that I think the biggest surprise is how bad Dragonfire potion turned out to be, pretty much solely because of how ubiquitous azure drake is.

This is easily clarifiable. That deck sucks because it can't consistently hold off Pirates until the combo, its combo is slower than Leeroy or Jaraxxus, and one more thing that is super obvious. Yogg-Saron, Hope's End was nerfed to oblivion and will never be usable again.
The moment i saw patches and small skill baccuneer i knew we would see an aggro fiesta.
Wrong
I thought control warrior would be still tier 1 thx to the above.Well even hyper control warrior still loses about 40% of the matches to face shaman and about 30% of the matches to face warrior while getting rekt by reno decks, dragon priest and jade decks. So it's bottom tier 2 or top tier 3.

I thought the Kazakus would be a fun casual card (though Kabal would still be good due to kabal courrier)
I thought Goon Taunt Warrior would be Top Tier. I thought Don HanCho could be played in it.

I thought agro paladin would be a good deck, due to having access to 4 cardsthet replenish hand.
I thought Zoo would be a Tier2 or better deck for the whole history of Hearthstone (turns out Pirates obsolete it)
Let's do some self-criticism here!

Things that I were right:
Renolock
Rogue is playable (although I expected more from pirate rogue, and even more from jade rogue, wich is still the rogue I play, ).
Shaman still there (although I expected no pirates and more White Eyes)
Pirates are very good
Things that I were wrong at:
I was told there would be Grimy Goons.
Jade Druid was not at all that slow.
I was fearing priest would be only contested by renolock, turns out I was wrong.
