Only the top streamers earn good money and they have to put in serious effort to keep it up. What is the good money? I do not know, but you can see the big donations on the screen, they get a lot that way. Forsen as was mentioned, has to bear all the sick questions he gets. I do not think that it is always fun...
Never thought about this much. I was kind of the opinion that even top streamers are just sort of making it by without dazzling anyone.
I'd also be less than wholeheartedly accepting of info from a website that wants to sell you something...
I don't have any hard data, really, to back this kind of cynical view, but quite often you get glimpses of the setup and background that the streamers are streaming from. Usually from their home, I suppose. Or somebody's home, anyway.
I haven't been blown away by their upscale surroundings. I don't mean they're living in slums, but just average to kind of cheap surroundings. The computers their using are certainly not all top of the line type stuff.
If they have up any pages on Instagram or similar, they also look like they dress sort of average on the whole.
Now all of this might just be a huge scam to fool people & the IRS (or similar) into believing they are just sort of making it, but I don't believe that. Money has a way of showing up in the way you dress & where you live, & the kind of equipment use.
It also seems to me that to be a "top" streamer, you need something a good bit more than being a top player. There's a good bit of either showmanship & humor, or the ability to explain clearly what's going on & why (Trump is great at this).
The top streamers are the top because all of the people who are viewers already watch them. It's an 'industry' / job that's hard to break into. You will spend a TON of effort promoting yourself and building a following that would let you do it as a living. If you're OK with it as a hobby / side thing to do when you're off your real job, then it's no problem - have fun!
In order to make a living off of it, you will be doing as much work as you ever did - if not more. (and there are a lot of expenses that employers take care of for you that most people don't know about!)
I'm sure Forsen doesn't mind answering weird/awkward questions from donors. It's like how Reynad tolerates all the racist/sexist stuff he has to say - they don't care because they're raking it in. During his text-to-speech donation thing last week Reynad made $2,000+ in 2 hours just for reacting to racist stuff people typed (and he also went 6-0 to start the stream, getting into legend at the same time lol).

No, if she was a male she would have about 60% less viewers
