This card has been a problem in the game for at least a few years now. A lot of people hate when Priest gets a good spot in the meta and almost every single time, its because of this card existing along with expansion cards that support it somehow.
Most recent famous examples are of course Raza Highlander priest, being able to machine gun down your health with its hero power + this card. and atm. Every single Priest archetype using this card as a win condition. Both Clone Priest by comboing it to do over 40+ damage. Or Control priest by using alextraxa, and then using it between 2 to 3 times thanks to shadow visions to kill you with low resources.
Its biggest problem is just the fact that it does 5 free damage to the face for only 2 mana on a class who's identity is normally more oriented towards control and mid-range stuff. Meanwhile, the agressive hunter (yeah, I know) can also do 5 damage, but it costs 3 mana instead of 2 and it requires Rexxar to have a specific kind of minion on the field for it to work.
The problem just got even bigger now that most decks that could do decent agaisn't priest got nerfed while Priest got nothing touched. I am aware that some problems will be solved once the rotation comes (no more shadow visions or shadowreaper for extra damage for example), but I really think the card has to either go to the hall of fame at this point, or get a small nerf to make it just a bit harder to use than currently.
Jesus, not this again. This website already had a huge argument about it, and the thread got locked because it was getting toxic. Look up “Mind Blast” in the forums.
It shouldn't be nerfed or HOF'ed because it's only used in certain Priest decks and not all of them. It's not like Wild Growth which was used in virtually every Druid deck.

Oh so priest is not allowed to be good ever just cause some salty kids don't like the class and cry everytime it gets half decent? Priest just has to be the meme class that emotes, hero powers face and passes so this kids can be happy.
Mind Blast is just an ok card with nice combo potential, the issue is that team 5 can't make a balanced game and for whatever reason keeps printing insane cards that somehow cheat the mana curve, Mind Blast is not the issue.
Lmao, another "I lost to this card so it should be nerfed!" Thread. The card is not a problem, priest is allowed to be good sometimes ya know. Priest needs its burst potential so stop crying
This card was crap for years because priest class lack agressive cards to make burn relevant, become playable because the DK, Alex and Vision can win in 2 turns setup in the very late game, the fact is much people see when work but don't see the many games the priest was stomped by aggro with x2 of this useless card.
Mind Blast is a card that was sneered at for the most time for a good reason, and almost none of the good Priest Decks in the game's history used it. Just to name a few examples: super old Control Priest, old Dragon Priest in TGT, new Dragon Priest in MSG, Spiteful Priest, and just about any Inner Fire Combo Priest.
It is a 2 mana burst spell in a class that has no other means of burst or ways to keep the pressure high. The introduction of Shadowreaper Anduin, and having that card alongside Shadow Visions, was pretty much the first time ever anybody even considered putting Mind Blast in a deck outside of some Tavern Brawls. What feels to you like "a few years" is EXACTLY the time span of Shadowreaper in the game. It was hardly, if ever used before. The rotation won't just "change" that, it will put the card back into the drawer where you won't look at it. Even for some whacky Malygos or Prophet Velen combos you won't think of it, because those cards are also no longer of use in Priest with the resurrection/cheating stuff rotating out. Not to mention that Radiant Elemental ALSO leaves the format.
Even using it alongside Alexstrasza which seems oh-so-unfair only works if Priest has a very good control game. Try to imagine what good your whooping 10 damage on Turn 10 does for you, when your only board clears are Holy Nova and the Auchenai combo. Mass Hysteria is good too, but hardly on the level of having it alongside Psychic Scream, Spirit Lash, AND the ability to find and use all these spells multiple times with Shadow Visions. Not to mention minion AoE like Duskbreaker and Primordial Drake.
By the way, same can be said for Divine Spirit and Inner Fire, who some people also have come to believe are "problematic". Those cards, just as well, were considered impractical and a running joke for all the times Priest was in fact not doing well. This changed with better minions, good sources to buff health like Kabal Talonpriest, and again finding these cards with the help of Shadow Visions. But maybe, just maybe it really does depend in the end on the actual meta which strategies are viable, and on what support cards you have, and it's not "this card is abusable and should never have been printed". Because almost every card can be good and "abusable" if these conditions are met.
It shouldn't be nerfed or HOF'ed because it's only used in certain Priest decks and not all of them. It's not like Wild Growth which was used in virtually every Druid deck.
Which is wrong too. Spiteful Druid didn't use it. Token Druid in Un'Goro didn't use it. Even some of the earlier aggressive Druid decks didn't use it. You could say those were the few exceptions, but I say, when you have a working bike, you don't always take the car. Maybe that's why people ended up using it too much: because Team5 stopped selling bikes.
Priest already has the weakest classic set out of all classes.
Crippling it even more because a card that's good right now (partially thanks to shadow visions as someone else already mentioned) doesn't mean it needs to be removed.
Doing so will only force Blizzard to create even more and stronger priest cards for each expansion, to make up for their shitty classic set. This, in turn, will make you cry even more about broken priest cards.
This card has been a problem in the game for at least a few years now.
It saw zero play before Shadowreaper or Visions, even then it was only half decent in Raza Priest. After the rotation Priest sucked with 40% wr till Druid got nerfed in December. So in all of Hearthstone's history Mind Blast saw play for like 7 months (5 months during Raza meta and 2 months now). I don't know how you can call it "problem for last few years".
Probably in balance patch next to one, where they nerf Holy Light. Cards that do not affect board are probably not very high on their list. At least you can use Holy Light to heal big minion.
Yes please, so we priests can get a new card. Mind blast sucks balls anyway, most of the time it's just a dead card in your hand you cant use to get rid of minions.
Mind Blast is not the issue, it has become Priest's finisher after Shadow Visions been printed because it allows to get multiple copy of that nuke. When Shadow Visions will get out of Standard in April, the problem will solve itself and probably Mind Blast will be hardly see play again (as it was before Un'goro).

Mind blast isn't the issue it wasn't highly played until shadow visions came out. I would argue shadow visions is the problem and it will rotate.
Kill Command can target any enemy though.

So no, Mind blast doesn't need anything.
It saw zero play before Shadowreaper or Visions, even then it was only half decent in Raza Priest. After the rotation Priest sucked with 40% wr till Druid got nerfed in December. Legendaries crafted so far: Dr. Boom, Kazakus, Lord Jaraxxus, Sylvanas Windrunner, Fire Plume's Heart, Mal'Ganis, Bloodreaver Gul'dan, Baku the Mooneater, Genn Greymane, Aya Blackpaw, Patches the Pirate, Leeroy Jenkins, Zilliax, Raid the Docks and ancharr
Never. Stop crying and move on.
man these threads get heated / passive aggressive quick
Isn't that every nerf thread though? Especially when a card actually deserves a nerf. Seems like such an empty and simple response.

For what profit is it to a man, if he gains the world and loses his own soul?
It's so low on the list of cards that might get HOF that it's not even worth talking about.
I'm fine with Mind Blast. It sits deads in your hand at some state of the game (which is not winning or applying a two turn lethal setup).
It's a burn card.
