Really everybody talks about a bad meta and always (even the days of ungoro which waspropably the healthiest meta we ever had), always someone will complain because ''this class has fewer decks than this'' or cause '' i keep losing to this'' or '' the meta is rock paper scissors''.
So what would the ideal meta be for you? what you consider a good meta? Because i get the feeling from the people that scream all the time about nerfs and bad meta, that the idea of ''a good meta'' is a very different from person to person.
When all classes and archetypes are viable, and the viable decks are all fairly interactive, with relatively few polarizing match-ups - I guess that would be pretty nice. With nine classes, and four major archetypes, it's more realistic to judge the degree to which a given meta-game stacks up in each of these regards - bitching and moaning about polarizing match-ups, for example, when HSReplays is tracking over 20 viable decks is a bit counter-productive.
1. No one class is more than 20% of the class played.
2. Aggro, control, tempo and combo all show up in the list of top decks,
3. No top-tier deck has a gimmick or one card that makes it dumb and frustrating to play against (i.e. Kingsbane, Shudderwalk, etc.)
4. Where the rock-paper-scissors meta isn't too polarizing. i.e, win rates of combo vs control is like 60%, not 80%. Win rates of aggro vs combo is 60%, not 80%, etc.
A meta where minions are vital for any deck, including Control, and where Control is just slow Midrange and almost as minion-oriented as the average Aggro deck.
That is, no deck should be able to survive for long without playing minions or spells that summon minions.
The perfect meta is never gonna happen. Right now there is some problem revolving baku and genn. What really pisses me off is when arcetypes get pushed and pushed but just aren't viable. Deathrattlerogue, rushwarrior or buffwarlock. I think what is very imporatant is that all classes have more than one good deck. Look at shaman and warrior. every time you que up to these decks you know what you will be playing against before mulligan. Although we had druidstone and hunterstone i liked it when i didn't know what deck they were playing. Knowing that you play against a certain deck just because that class has one deck isn't fun..
A meta where I consistently am having fun. Right now I’m struggling to find a fun deck to play in Standard. Been resorting to a lot of Wild with C’Thun variants, Glinda Mech Warpers, Thaddius Hunter... just trying to meme a little here and there.
I may not get excited about Standard again until April. And even then, maybe not until April 2020 when Genn and Baku go to Wild. I say this when probably my most played Standard deck the past few months is Odd Mage. But still, they really should have been second or third set additions instead of first set of a HS year.
Before The Frozen Throne expansion this game was really cool, sadly HS died right after that expansion was released. I could play whatever I want and had fun, but not now. I hope that power creep train will stop one day...
The good meta is a unicorn. There will always be complaints.
Anytime there are 10 or 12 different decks that can make it to legend and be competitive in high legend, I'm happy.
I love listening to how this or that mechanic just needs to rotate and the meta will be good. People fall into this pattern where they seem to be arguing for pure curve-out Tempostone. Fortunately, that will never happen again, because the game would stagnate beyond belief.

Enjoying Americans winning in the Olympics is forbidden because it is political. A 14 plus page discussion of state-sponsored lawsuits against a multi-national corporation based on harassment, discrimination, and wrongful death allegations is apparently not political enough to raise an issue.
My thoughts: Part of a good meta is a meta where the difference between tier 1 and the lower tiers is not very extreme. Another part of a good meta is when most games are close and you rarely feel that you are guaranteed to lose from the start.
I've been enjoying the game a lot since the last patch. All kinds of decks are represented and nothing is overwhelmingly present. There still seems to be slightly more Hunter than everything else but I'm liking the variety of viable decks, and that all of the decks currently present have exploitable weaknesses.

What's your opinion?
One in without infinite value generators, where my decisions matter, and in which Baku/Genn don't exist.

A meta where every single class has a op deck, a meta in which every class can reach legend. That’s an utopia I guess.
I like metas where midrange decks are strong. Midrange decks are the most interesting in my personal taste.

Forests and trees, I suppose . . .
A meta with a good batch of tier 2-3 decks, so you have a lot of decks to choose from that aren't already 'solved'.
And without a single deck that just kills EVERYTHING.
One does not simply walk into Mordor,
unless they want to be the best they can be.

wild meta, every class has a decent deck. standard has, and will always suck in this.

Strong board clears should be very few.
You will find something to complain about anyway
Why do you think that?

A meta where I always win, duh.
Or at least so it seems from the threads people keep creating about overpowered cards and bad meta all the time. :D

there are no good metas, only bad ones people have yet to hate.
Rejoice, for even in death, you have become children of Thanos.
I second that!
