kingsbane is all about draw.. no heal spell is gg game vs hunters.
But as soon you have heal and also blade flurry ist a walk in the park
Last 3 games i played against a rogue with Kingsbane i just straight conceded as soon as he equipped it. If you dont play a deck that wins on turn 6 then there is no need to even try...
There was a time, when i thought that with my ooze in the deck i can make it. But since the weapon returns 10 times ist pretty much useless.
I think people don't get whhy Kingsbane is OP. It's not the card itself or the fact that it is an infinite weapon.
It's Leeching Poison. That card makes it so Kingsbane wins EVERY control matchup based purely on inevitability.
Now personally, I don't feel like the deck needs any nerfs as of now (it's not really broken, just polarizing), but if they did I suspect they'd do something like "Leeching Poison gives you lifesteal THIS TURN" efffectively eliminiating the deck (while still keeping kingsbane intact for tempo decks that want to use it)
I really agree with that nerf to leeching poison. Also, I think a deck like kingsbane rogue that is polarizing and unfun should be nerfed even if it is not the best deck.
Then again, part of the reason I hate kingsbane rogue is that I hate a lot of their core cards. Vanish, sap, vilespine, prep, and quest all are really aggravating because their mana cost should be higher
People complaining about Leeching Poison but they do not see that core cards like Vanish/Sap are extremely good against slower decks , kingsbane is just the win condition and while i agree that in standard there SHOULD be an aggro deck that wins by turn 5 or 6 to keep it in check well Odd Paladin kinda does that but Rogue can play around that one card especially because Fan of Knives is good versus them.
Leeching Poison is basically the only Healing card Rogue got, Kingsbane will rotate anyway and again changing a Poison effect will mean that every Poison effect has to be "this Turn" effect. To be honest Rogue loses a lot of life while daggering especially when they introduced Envenom Weapon in Un'Goro it was very clear that while Poisonous Weapon was good, the Life Total was very bad on Rogue Side.
If you think Kingsbane and Shudderwock are unfun and non-interactive what should i say about Taunt Druid? Playing tons of taunts draw cards use some removals master brokeheart comes and you concede , if Kingsbane comes you concede, when Shudderwock comes you concede and when Oakheart comes you Concede most of the time too depending on your deck.
Just found he perfect counter to kingsbane as a mage. Running elemental mage with Servant of Kalimos and at the end of the game (dk was bottom of my deck and never drew it) I discovered Ice Walker. Made me laugh so hard. 15 attack kingsbane and my hero power stops him from attacking.
I think it would be fine without lifesteal. I can't play control warrior anymore because of this and shudderwock. Shudderwock is more annoying because 1 turn takes 20 minutes. Control pretty much has no chance against Kingsbane, Shudderwock, or new Pally combo.
It’s just sad they printed a "kind of " anti combo card this expansion ( Hakkar works only for specific classes) in form of DojoMaster Zihi.
And to be fair Dojo Master Zihi works really well against Druids , mechatuhn decks etc. but unfortunately not vs Kingsbane ( although it’s nice to delay the DK) .
The Leeching Poison nerf was a good suggestion, and I hope we get nerfs soon. Facing a Rouge who has on turn 3 a 4 attack Lifesteal Weapon , feels just like playing vs old Questrouge.
I love how much people hate Kingsbane. I think I enjoy how much people hate it more than I enjoy playing it. I guess it's disheartening playing a control deck and having nothing on the board to control.
Let's start using the word "polarizing" in all our threads. This is the buzzword that gets nerfs.
It feels like only aggro or OTK decks have a chance against Kingsbane. That's POLARIZING. I now have at least two weapon destruction cards in every standard deck because of Hunters and Kingsbane Rogue. The question is whether weapon destruction is even good against Kingsbane.
Kingsbane also feels bad because there is no real counter against it except maybe for Skulking Geist. Skulking Geist destroys Doomerang, which is hugely important for the deck.
Is it time for a "Silence Weapon" effect? It sure feels like it.
I don't know why but i hate that card as well.
But as soon you have heal and also blade flurry ist a walk in the park

draw heal, it's a gg too.

I tried having fun once. It was awful.

Fun fact: if you run Frost Lich Jaina, you can freeze face every turn and keep the kignsbane from being used.
Getting Raiding Party and Preparation in your starting hand is so damn good.
"Everyone! Get in here!"
Yeah you are preparing for the party in other words turn 1 prep + party equip kingsbane turn 2 topdeck Leeching Poison pretty much.
If only Doomerang could go Face, then who would laugh at the end :)
I think people just need time to adjust. It's the new Quest Rogue. People will figure it out.
Also, Shudderwock and Big Spell Mage can legitimately beat Kingsbane as control decks.
Appropriately teched Control Warlock (bad deck I know) and Togwaggle Druids can beat it reliably as well.
I see, my Hakkar, the Soulflayer Archbishop Benedictus Quest Priest beats Kingsbane quite easily.
I think it would be fine without lifesteal. I can't play control warrior anymore because of this and shudderwock. Shudderwock is more annoying because 1 turn takes 20 minutes. Control pretty much has no chance against Kingsbane, Shudderwock, or new Pally combo.

It's always been a problem in Wild. Hopefully now that it's plaguing Standard too, Blizzard will actually do something about it.

So much salt for a stupid deck that will rotate out soon....
...because rotation solves every problem.
