Says it all in the title. During the early days of the season I've manage to easily climb to Rank 10. But now I'm facing Pirate deck after Pirate deck. However, I noticed something strange in the Pirate decks playstyle. They were making bad trades with my Taunt minions. At first I thought it was a stupid SMOrc, but then the attacks started becoming rhythmic, where the minions all attacked in a certain rhythm. They were showing the signs of a bot, like the Shaman bots from back in 2014. I didn't think there were any botters left, but it seems with Pirate cancer they've made a return.
Honestly bots never left they just became sophisticated and can randomize turn timers even but some people I suspect are using free or pirated bots that aren't very sophisticated. I ran into a few playing pirate warrior today though which were very obvious which is kinda funny!
Literally right after I commented I queued into this match. So would a human being stick around to lose to fatigue in a game I played Reno and clearly had Reno and multiple Ysera cards like Dream.
After I played my first Reno and it didn't concede I conducted a bot test by roping the next several turns. So unless this person is a masochist of the extreme order I would say bots are around :P
Still kinda hard to tell if it is a bot or not solely by taking into account the average IQ of the human Face Warrior players.
Yeah it's like "hmm a wonderful card game, what can I do to make it last the least possible and remove all the fun and skill ?" - Queues as pirate warrior...
If I didn't play against Jade druid 50%+ of the time right now I probably would play something other than pirates. But everytime I run a control deck everyone is playing the greediest decks imaginable.

Has anyone else encountered any possible bots?
When you are playing a hyper aggro deck, the only 'bad trades' with taunt are ones that leave the taunt on the board. I will ram three minions into a taunt if that's what it takes. It's not like aggro has the option to hold on till turn 10 and hope a win materializes like it can for a control deck. Besides, even if you have to trade the whole board, you will topdeck damage next turn anyway. And to the people saying bots = easy wins, you don't know bots very well.
I see humans make mistakes so stupid that there's no way it's a bot because a bot wouldn't even be that bad.
Don't assume a player is a bot just because they suck or play like they have an IQ of 10.
Also I would definitely NOT waste time roping or BMing a bot.. those actions don't bother a computer program. A program will patiently wait for as long as it takes for you to take your turn.
Wild on weekends is awash with them. People commenting there's no proof need to experience this for themselves I guess. It's not only the poor play, it's the same mannerisms. The pirate warrior bot I've been seeing will have the exact same time between all moves, hover the cards in the same pattern every turn and play until fatigue. The upside is that you'll most often win with your own pirate deck (as you'll make the smarter trades) or any type of reno.
The type of PW bot I see regularly at Wild ladder will mimic your emotes. They will respond to greetings, well played and thanks.
They will not respond to wow, oops and threaten. Shaman bots do exist too, playing devolve and jades. I even found the website for intelligent bots(not free though). Its something everyone knows but we don't bother talk about it anymore since blizzard doesn't give any shit.
It is just a matter of time before bots play HS BETTER than humans, if it has not happened already. The game is very mathematic and bots can calculate draws, rng etc. perfectly if someone bothers to make a strong enough program.
If someone runs a shitload of bots gathering deck information, they will even have a much better and less biased idea of the meta than any human can...
Eventually, bots should be very important for prepping for tournamnets, like they are for chess players. A bot could run millions of simulations determining the best matchups, tech choices etc.
Playing another Pirate Bot this morning. Whomever wrote the code still seems to favour high value trades at weird times plus they play a very odd but still rhythmic tempo. It will hover over things at different times but the spacing between movements is very rhythmic and there are never giant pauses just enough to try and seem natural.
So this is 4 of my last 9 games against Pirate Bots in Wild the last 2 days.

I think with Hearthstone becoming much more about curve and not combo's it makes it even easier for bots to compete since the games become much more predictable and easier to code. If I remember correctly someone showed a zoolock who used a bot exclusively to get legendary back in Naxx!

bots always here, nothing can stop this =)
I haven't noticed it, but if that's true then good on ya, it means more easy wins so actually I wish there were more bots.

I've played against a pirate warrior bot in standard and a secret paladin bot in wild.

Honestly it's pretty hard to tell a pirate bot from a player one, they all tend to play very badly and brainlessly.
Free to try and find a game, dealing cards for sorrow, cards for pain.
As expected coming from all unbalanced classes and cards. Blizz get a grip you should be shame of this.
I've noticed it... very strange...

Why do we play this game again?
