Marin the Fox is not a winning condition, so your win or lose is not conditioned by him in most of the scenarios. For sure if you play it and get its loot you'll get a big advantage, but you also must have other strategies to beat your opponenet and afterall Marin is just 1 in 30 cards.

For what profit is it to a man, if he gains the world and loses his own soul?

Okay but the fact of the matter remains that I haven't used him in any capacity whatsoever and I'd like to.
Every time I try to make a deck with him, I either end up winning and not being able to use him or losing before I even get to turn 8.
What are some decks that work well with him?
Well, he sucks, that's why! But he's fun to play with and entertaining! Replace a top end card with him, if you're not and just getting trashed before then anyway then it's not Marin's fault.
most likely midrange decks will be the best place for him. something like a jade deck, slower demon zoo or midrange paladin. I think he will probably fit better in wild decks since they have a lot of better early game options to give you a little more flexibility for your late game drops.
Well Marin may suck but his chest has just the right amount of health to be a perfect win condition! :D

Controlock. AOE damage and clears that warlock has (DK power too) helps pop the treasure. Carry both Trecherys, for doomsayer clears but also comes in handy to move the treasure to your opponents side if they play Marin against you.
Marin is good in decks that are based around value and greediness. Warlock and priest control decks can include them easily. I just put him in my Control warlock list and must say i am quite pleased.

Exactly, I think of Marin the Fox as Elise the Trailblazer 2.0, for a Handlock deck but with better upside bonuses, and much higher risk (other than a mill matchup, you really never lose Elise's 2 drop pack). Plus, Bonemare the treasure right away before Doomsayer or DOOM! or Twisting Nether and you can punish your opponent for being greedy. If anybody plays Marin against me, they meet the single Treachery I was holding back for a free Howlfiend ping turn. Now, I just need to craft another...

Treat him like Medivh - an alternative Win condition
Put him in control decks, or midrange decks like Jade Druid.

Just fit into my quest druid. Guess it's a Marin deck now
