As much as I hate facehunters, I had to say well played when one played this this evening to block my turn 6 Reno and win the game. May many more underused cards see their moment of glory in the future, I'm rooting for Millhouse!
Weblord is an awesome card. Play it before MC or Dr. Boom. Play it before Alexstrazza. You don't play it as a 2 drop...well it can screw battlecry heavy decks, but you can't really know if they are running one that early. However you will know if they are running the above mentioned minions, and can screw them over. Oh and it is so sweet cause no one suspects it.
Oh no! My late game card costs ONE MORE!? What ever will I do?
No turn 6 MC into t7 dr boom, no pinch heal on turn 6 reno's, no 1 drop abusive sergeants after divine favour.
I'm sorry, but I do not understand what you attempted to say in the slightest.
OP lost game because reno cost one more. It isn't just 1 mana, it's 1 turn (on curve). Being stalled for a turn facing aggro can mean taking 10 dmg to face.

I'm just another one of those. You know, those who do things. Things that need to be done by those that do these things in order to do those things that don't do these things themselves. Has the word 'things' lost meaning to you already?
Yup, you're absolutely right and that's another reson for me to run it in my control Anub Rogue deck, but sadly in control matchups, Reno is often used as last card before fatigue so without burst Ambushes help only a little
I wasn't saying it's the counter for everyone, I was only playing highlander control rogue in casual, so it proves nothing, but I was impressed.
So many hunters crying how Reno is op, this one was obviously experimenting with anti Reno tech. The next round he lethaled me with 10 damage. It might not be practical to run the card in facehunter, though midrange might be more feasible, and I just loved that my opponent sucker punched me (I was aware of the card, I've tried it against secret paladin, but I wasn't expecting it).
I experimented with this briefly a few days ago, but didn't find it that useful. It's extremely clunky in a matchup against a deck where its effect doesn't have any real impact, which is a large number of the opponents you face.
No use, for Reno isn't ment to be played turn 6 anyway... Any control/fatigue deck would lol hard.
You don't always have a choice. Sometimes when you get zerged down fast, you use it or lose the next turn.
I think that if you're about to die turn 6 your deck or play might have other issues. If those issues would be undone by the use of 1 single card, that card would be very OP.
Did you ever play against face decks? They can kill you by turn 6 regardless of what you draw/play.
Reno is amazing vs those decks, because they run out of steam and you can win right after. Reno won me a lot of games vs face huntards, aggro druids, zoo locks and tempo mages because I was able to play him on turn 6-8 and stabilize.

I can see it being useful, but Reno Decks that literally play only 1-of's (Which is the only consistent way to play Reno turn 6) are so inconsistent that you would lose many match ups. I like Reno, I play slower decks, but it's a fact that only consistent decks consistently win.
Just today, I played 2 (What I assume to be freeze mage) obvious Reno decks, I was playing Midrange Pally, they played almost nothing until turn 4 dupe, to turn 5 coin Reno, Healed the 8 damage I did, they played him once more and a few more 1-of's, then conceded. This happened twice in a couple hours.
It's simply too inconsistent to play a deck of 1-of's just for Reno. It won't work, you will still lose. I've tried it, I've beaten a few people trying it.
Weblord wouldn't counter it, because the only viable way to play him is late game, while you're more consistent deck is still able to win.
Conclusion: A deck of 1-of's would lose to a consistent deck so fast, that Reno would not be able to save you.
Very quick to judge one-of decks... It's early days, I think they can be consistent. Warlock is looking pretty good. I've been playing a warrior Reno deck with 2 or 3 duplicates (which I'd already drawn in the game this thread refers to), it's looking pretty good, I think.
Edit: Also, there's so much hate for Reno coming from aggro players at the moment, he must be doing something right.

Not really. I play Reno Druid and I'm consistently climbing up the ladder (went from rank 17 to rank 8 so far). Druid has a lot of versatile cards, plus I'm able to have plenty of tech cards (MCT, BGH, Kezan, Harrison) without much trouble of fitting them in. Also, there are cards which fit similar roles so you can put them together (i.e. Tazdingo is slightly worse but cheaper Belcher). The best thing about deck of 1-of's is that you can beat any deck. You don't have bad match-ups, you only have bad draws. But that can happen to any deck.

I returned to this game much like how a recovering alcoholic can relapse.

[Game] Name another card that has the same...
Lol... Beneath the grounds to counter Reno is brilliant. Though, it might not be that good.
Alexstrasza I view as the true counter, after Reno is dropped.

Ive been trying to find a way to use the weblord for a while, and not just as a tech. LOE is full of battlecry cards so maybe the time is now.
Perhaps in a deck with hobgoblin / velen's chosen? Without a buff he doesnt last long.
Nightblade Argent Lance Flame Imp
Argent Watchman Argent Squire Frost Giant
Aviana Hogger Snipe Sea Giant
