I like the fact that they're introducing cards that can produce a different type of hunter. I don't know how viable this will be in a control hunter deck considering how easy it is for most decks to remove, but at the very least it's a 4 mana 2/3 with a battlecry that deals 2 damage to an enemy, which isn't bad.
I would rather compare this card to Auchenai than to Shadowform. It is an awesome card, especially in arena can be very valuable. Looking forward to play with it.
Can't really count on it in Arena given that it's an epic! But it's definitely Hunter's best epic though!
Okay. This is clearly broken. The only downside of this card is "weak" body I'd say, but the ability to control it provides will probably force enemy player to spend at least a spell on that thing. GJ Blizzard, more shitty staff for shamans (windfury + overcharge, please, oh, and random damage, we already have the worst AoE in game for 5 mana we don't even know will it either damage for 2 or for 3) and spread the cancer-class even more. I just don't get it, do they have eyes?
I'm sorry ( i really hate to flame, truly), but your post sums up everything what i hate of these forums at the moment: The whining, the suggestion that Blizzard is out there to hurt your favorite class personally, the suggestion that Blizzard has no idea what they are doing, the audacity to call a simple deck in a simple game after a very deadly diseases in this world. Seriously dude, hopeless.
Yeah, some people just love to whine. They thrown the word "broken" and "OP" around to the point where it has lost its meaning.
People new to card games: You don't know what "broken" or "OP" means until you've lost to a deck before you even drew a single card.
Back on topic: Steamwhiddle Sniper is pretty balanced. And if you haven't realized yet, this will lead to the creation of new Hunter deck archetypes different from the ones you are sick of playing against.
And I thought that MTG spoiler season nonsense posts were crazy. The dumber the game, the dumber the posts on forums (not all ofc but some of those are definietly below the level lol).
Card is fine and won't be a meta breaker, albeit it is more useful than shadowform.

nah, it is bad, haha
Well if you compare it to si:7, it has the same "battle cry", costs 1 more, has 1 less attack but doesn't need to be comboed, plus the 2 damage is recurring. I guess we'll see, like I said I don't know how viable it'll be, but I like how it lends itself to a different style of hunter.
People saying this card is either A:) Categorically bad, or B:) TOTALLY AWESOME! Are obviously both wrong. Just because you don't think this will work well in whatever pet "Control Hunter" you have, does not mean it's bad. Never mind the fact that every last "Control Hunter" deck I've seen is actually Midrange, and the nature of the class renders the term "control" a total misnomer..
Anyway, it is *really* hard to judge a card like this alone. It has a powerful effect, and it might not stick around, yes? Well, Knife Juggler has a very powerful effect and it doesn't stick around very long, either. There is almost no such thing as an auto-taunt/auto-kill, and if a card even approaches being that, it is probably worth playing.
It's going to be useful - the only question is how useful.
To the folks saying, "clearly it would be removed right away" - it's going to depend on board position and life totals. I have frequently seen beast removal prioritized over Houndmaster removal even when the Houndmaster is (visibly) capable of doing more damage, and I expect there will be similar behaviors around the sniper.
For the folks saying broken - Just because this card fits a need inside the hunter arsenal does not make it broken. It's slow and overpriced if you only get one hero power out of it, and in spite of my previous comment, keeping a 2/3 alive is not going to be an easy endeavor.
No competent aggro hunter is going to play this you guys lmao stop saying that. The whole point of aggro hunter is to slam face Not play the board control game.
And in in no way is the better than soulpriest holy shit. It's not nearly as sticky and much more importantly you can't 4 mana flamestrike with the hunter card.
I'm very disappointed with this card's text. Since Ben Brode confirmed that this only affects the Hunter class then why not just say "Your Steady Shot can target minions". Why make it needlessly confusing?

Bad players whine.
Good players adapt.

Very strong T1 coin card. Great for a mid-range/control hunter.

i thought Hunters will be gone next season, but i was wrong
You know Druids receive no love when there are Recycle and Entomb.
Interesting!
Feel free to add me if you play on NA! iMPose#1429
If a warrior faceless' this does that mean minions can get armor?
This is good in ALL builds of hunter. Control, yes. Aggro? Yes. Aggro again? Yes.
Really high powered, and I would not be suprised to see this in the handful of nerfs that will very likely happen 2 months post release.
I Designed A Card This Week
this card only works with hunter. ben brode confirmed
i prefer handlock over zoo.
Oh well could have been interesting
I'm very pleased to see some nice options open up for non-aggro hunters coming up.
My second thought about this card is, just an Auchenai Soulpriest that has no circle combo. It doesn't sound quite appetizing anymore.
