The card is *ideally* very good, but in practice it's just a good filler card for Control-ish decks, or slow Midrange.
Given that context of play:
1) against OTK you are still doomed in most cases.
2) against Aggro it's nearly useless, because of a bad Tempo loss. A winmore at best.
3) good against other Control. Very good.
So basically a tech card for mirror matchup.
UNLESS Princess Talanji is given some siblings. In which case the Midrange option could become consistent enough for a Thief Priest.
I'm not sure I agree with your assessment vs aggro. If I'm playing this in a control deck as I suspext, .I'm not trying to go for tempo in the early turns. My game isn't really going to start until turn 5 when I can play mass hysteria. And -anything- I can dump on the board before turn 5 is just a bonus. Be it a loot hoarder or something like this. I don't usually have a ton to do on turn 3 anyway. This is perfect. IMHO anyway.
Problem is, if you dont draw mass hýteria you dead in turn 6, lol. And now Priest dont have Shadow vision to do that consistantly. You cant play that greedy vs aggro these days.
This would not be played in any aggro, tempo, or combo deck. A 3/2 body is garbage for aggro and tempo decks. And this would take up space in any combo deck as they are looking to just draw their combo and win.
Let's be honest, the only decks you'd see this in would be either control or possibly a combo breaker (if it exists in this expansion)
So in a combo breaker deck, I guess in a perfect world, you'd be able to see if a combo card is in your opponents hand and then *MAYBE* you'd be able to snipe it and then you'd beat the 20% of pure combo decks on ladder for an extraordinary ~25% winrate against all decks....
In a control deck, let's say best case here, you steal Dr. Boom against Warrior. OK, you got a great, super strong value card. Only problem is that the Warrior will have Boom in hand and a LOAD of mechs that he put into his deck ready to crush you! The opponent will have a HUGE deck synergy advantage over you even in a best case scenario.
So last point here is this. Most decks on ladder now are NETDECKED. And you play the same ten decks over and over again, so you already KNOW what cards are in their decks. And if you are a reasonably competent player, you can make educated guesses as to what your opponent already has in his hand or what to play around. Decks that see play on ladder now are optimized netdecks that wouldn't find a spot for a 'weak' card like this.
You smell that? That smelly smell? More support for Steal Priest, bois, just what I wanted.
[edit] A small comment regarding her playability - it kinda depends on the opponent you are facing, but overall I'm really impressed by her. If it's a value deck, you could steal its win-condition (Dr. Boom, Mad Genius) and get a huge advantage over the enemy. You will outvalue them. You can also get a copy of a removal (Twisting Nether, Brawl) OR you can copy a burst spell (if you are playing a combo deck and you are in the mirror). And as a bonus, Lazul acts like a small scout.
I will totally craft that legendary, if I don't get it from a pack.
You don't steal anything. You just copy their card. Which means they don't lose their win condition. So I'm not sure what you're trying to achieve...
Very good card. I found it slightly boring at first, but the more I thought about it, it's such a useful, sneaky card that could give you big advantage when played at the right time. Feels fair and balanced.
I'm surprised by how many people don't understand the meaning of "steal". If I steal your TV, do you still have that TV?
How does this card steal quest rewards? It just copies them.

If you read my post again, you will see that I wrote "get a copy of" twice. So I was and still am fully aware, that we don't literally take a card from our opponent w/o leaving anything behind. I used "steal" as a context synonym of "acquire a copy of something" and it sounded more fitting as a term for my beloved Priest archtype.
Anyway, in a meta, where resource management actually matters (and we don't have infinite value), getting a copy of the enemy's win-condition and using it against them is a very big deal. You are "stealing" their chances to win, because the opponent can't overwhelm you with an ace up their sleeve. Since you get a copy of their win-condition on top of already using your own one, you are in a more favourable position. Just imagine if you manage to get Hagatha the Witch or Dr. Boom, Mad Genius.
This is what I meant with that sentence. However I'm going to repeat it again - I'm not blind to Lazul's cons and how playable she is depends on the opponent you are facing. If you play against an aggro deck, she becomes a weak top-deck (but not worthless as a 1/1). We also have the timing factor - you may not always steal the opponent's win-condition, but getting a copy of an AoE or a hard removal still puts you in a good position, because a board wipe like Twisting Nether can deal with multiple enemy resources at once.
ITT aggro players not understanding the value of information
Yeah, silly aggro players.
They probably don’t even care that you are playing a 3 mana 3/2 , that lets you discover valuable information about totally unexpected cards like killcommand , animal companion, etc.
The information you get is only a side effect. Most time it will help you nothing and most pro players already "know" what the opponent has in his/her hands. But sometimes it will help you to know, that you can lay down your big threat, because you know your opponent has no removal. But this could be top decked.
It will be played for the draw effect. And you'll draw a good card because you can expect your opponent to play good cards and you can chose (discover). For this effect alone the card seems playable.

This 'don't even care' is well known as mindlessness. But the aggro crowd is the target audience of devs, which makes you wonder why in the first place Madam Lazul was printed. For casual?
Or to mislead the non-target audience in hope that next exp. will - for a change - not the polarized through aggro dominance? The inner workings of abhorrantcy, repulsiveness and appalling character of devs….with a smile towards mindlessness.

sorry guys i guess im just fucking dumb. this isn't an aggro card so it's clearly 0/10. NO control/value cards have EVER seen play in the history of hearthstone.

Life before death. Strength before weakness. Journey before destination.
I kinda prefer Chameleos. I'll admit Madame Lazul looks better on the face of it, but I just enjoy keeping a pen and paper handy while Chameleos helps me build a running tally of my opponent's hand. Makes me feel smart and sneaky.
There's a difference between knowing the opponent deck (which you can by turn 2 to guess pretty accurately 2 weeks into an expansion) and knowing the opponent's hand, compared to chameleos, madame lazul can see half/a third/all of the opponent's hand in one go, knowing your opponent's next possible plays are VERY strong specially in a control class. there's a reason why player's hands aren't always revealed.. did some of you had 2 friends battling and watched both hands? or tournaments where "why he is playing around X while he doesn't have it" or "why isn't he playing around Y?" well knowing what your opponent has and what he is less likely to have is very vital.
I think this is a meta-defining card, not because it's incredibly powerful (although it is incredibly good) but because there's little reason not to play it in every priest deck. It's just good, and it's (nearly) always going to be good. You'd really have to be doing something strange to not auto-include this in any priest.

I would 100% coin this out vs Secret Mage every time just for that reason.

+ Getting Fireball (or other burn spells) and using them as a removal is also very beneficial.
edit: If you've ever seen a Kripp stream, you know how valuable it is to know what's in your opponent's hand. This card is probably far stronger in Arena, but it's still pretty damned good in constructed.

So priests main weakness are aggro decks which can kill Priest before let's say turn 8-10.
We don't know the new meta decks, so let's just put this card in todays control priest and tets it against an Odd Pally, for example. So Madame Lazul gets in our starting and takes a place of a Mass Hysteria, for example. So we play her on turn 3 and wow - we discover Argent SquireRaid Leader and Frostwolf Warlord oh my, who would have guessed Odd Pally plays those cards?! But will any of those will be for dying Priest. I really doubt. I would rather use a mass-removal which place was taken by Madame Lazul So in shorter words This card is a little better version of Chamelios. The info aspect is kind of irrelivant. And the steal effect isn't even that powerful as we have learned from Chameleos (even against control decks) I rate this card as Bad

Actually somewhat better because you scout his hand, not deck and you're not dependent on a dragon.
