With more high costed mechs, it could potantially be huge, we still have firework tech in standard, in wild it has a lot of support already, you can discount mechs with galvanizers.
this card already has tonnes of synergy to activate, it needs just more targets than whelps, although whelps might be good enough, 8 mana 4/5 + cheating DR + 2/1 +2/2 with decent DR + 7/7 all mechs except the 2/1, those are a lot of stats for 8 mana and 3 cards.
The other good deathrattle mech is spiderbomb.
ignoring the deathrattle part, on impactful mechs it can summon, zilliax, bulldozer, the 5/12 injured mech(uninjured!) and mechathun(won't end the game though, you still need to kill mechathun).
I mean this card has a lot of potential for being really strong, we saw only this card from hunter in the new expansion and in a sealed format in one of the tavern brawls without the broken KOFT and kobold cards mech hunter was one of the top dogs (well it had GVG too).
Why so many people underestimate this card? I mean.. Voidcaller?
imagine Voidcaller reading "activate it's battlecry for your opponent" (discard 2 cards, take X damage..) so this card is kinda similar you could get a benefit from it.. so many dismissive comments about this card sucking.. it cheat out minions... Possessed Lackey anyone?
This is a build around card. The card is very powerful, there is just nothing that worthwhile to use it on. With support it could be really good
but summoning a deathrattle whelp and a 7/7 at the same time is kind of powerful. It's the kind of awkward boardstate that DR thrives on, where clearing is awkward and unrewarding but can be punished if you don't.
I really like deathrattle hunter as a deck, and a more balanced version for the new rotation with some mechs would be super cool. All the broken cards in DR Hunter (Kat, Cubes, play dead/terrorscale, egg) are rotating so this gives them a chance to rebuild the archetype as something more balanced for the new year. There are a handful of strong cards from the deck staying around, Spider Bomb, Houndmaster Shaw, Zilliax. There is also cards like Fireworks Tech and Necromechanic that might replace the roles of terrorscale and cube.
Fireworks Tech as an activator as well as synergy with other cards in the deck
Goblin Prank as another immediate Deathrattle activator that potentially allows you to recover tempo by trading a small rattle into a bigger minion
This is not as strong as the deathrattle synergies we previously had BUT you need to consider that most mana cheat cards will leave Standard meaning that any class that DOES still have access to some of them (like Rogue with Hooktusk) are going to be disproportionately powerful.
It is definitely a clunky card, but much like Kathrena Winterwisp it might just be strong enough to build around and ultimately it really comes down to whether you can build a functioning deck to support it (maybe some SPell synergies with Zul'jin and try to imitate ye olde Barnes+Big Beast deck that floated around at the end of K&C until it was replaced by the much more consistent DR and Recruit builds in WW)
Edit: I also forgot Necromechanic which you can just throw into the deck, slam down at turn 5 and if the enemy has no way to remove it crazy stuff can happen with a variety of scenarios (Mecha Dragons, Spider Bombs, or just this into all of the above)
Without DK Rexxar, slow Hunter decks like DR Hunter won't exist. Hunter doesn't have aoe board clear, healing or draw to make it in the late game, Rexxar alone filled all those gaps. The stall with Rexxar allowed Hunter to naturally wait for those big late game draws, high tempo plays with those big beasts meant that opponent always played from behind eliminating the need for aoe board clear and lifesteal beasts covered the healing department.
I don't see how Hunter is going to survive early game to play this minion and if they manage to do so against control deck, the control deck will simply clear the board and there is no refill due to lack of card draw.
This card's effect is very good but it suffers from Emeriss problem, great card when you get it from Dragon Roar but would never see play because it is a Hunter card.
Badly statted for the relatively expensive price, conditional (you need a mech in hand) and unreliable (can be triggered by the opponent when he is ready, can be silenced/transformed). Sounds like a receipe for a not so successful card...
New mana cheat option for hunter now the K&C options are rotating out. There isn't currently an obvious high cost mech to target with this. And Goblin prank is a less than optimal deathrattle activator.
But this is definitely a card to watch.

bless RNG to not open this card at my packs
That it's a Deathrattle and a legendary (so can't pull itself) makes it completely unplayable in my eyes.

I mean.. it got some nice summons:https://www.hearthpwn.com/cards/minion?filter-show-standard=y&filter-race=17&filter-token=0&filter-class=9&display=3

Weaponized Piñata
Hunter has been pretty good for a while now. I guess Blizzard thought it was time to give them shitters.

This. We are all literally Bunnyhoppor level. No issues here.
Zola the Gorgon ???????? in wild eh
Imagine preordering the omega bundle for 80€ and then get this as the golden legendary.
Don't Jinx it.
Why you think it's that bad?
Things that can make this work:
Galvanizer to reduce the cost of not only this but also any othe potential big mechs you might have in your hand
Skaterbot in conjunction with the aforementioned Galvanizer to quickly rush this out, kill it and summon a big dude
Mecha'thun and Mechanical Whelp as targets to pull for immediate big stats
Fireworks Tech as an activator as well as synergy with other cards in the deck
Goblin Prank as another immediate Deathrattle activator that potentially allows you to recover tempo by trading a small rattle into a bigger minion

I tried having fun once. It was awful.

Deathrattle Hunter will rotate out, and this will not bring back a mech iteration of said deck.
I bought the omega bundle right now to challenge the jinx!

God i fell in love with big hunter in witchwood, after that i hated almost all hunter cards. I freaking hate mechs. Also underwhelming effect.
It should have Magnetic.
