I think if we see some beefy mechs this will become auto include in the new control mech warrior in BD.
We're bound to see some Big Mechs as well as that seems to be what warriors mech theme is from the images I've seen. Also Boom himself is in the warrior camp, so all his mechs are going to be warrior cards.
I really think this could be a good card if the mech cards that it supports are good also.
There's also the Warrior Legendary spell that no doubt is going to be Boom-related.
For a Hero Card, it doesn't do much by itself the turn you play it. Perhaps that is why it gives more armor than the others: it is compensation for that weakness.
I am glad that Blizzard continues to invest in Rush cards for Warrior, and hope that Dr. Boom can give this deck type a much-needed boost.

They gave him 7 armor because Dr. Boom is an iconic 7/7 card.
You know, the reveal of mecha C'thun could totally pull me to the other side. What if it's a C'thun that gets +1/+1 for each summoned mech? What if it gets all magnetic buffs played this game? That card is going to be a huge factor in my preorder decision I feel, just like this was. There just needs to be one mech finisher that needs rush to make this an obvious inclusion in CW. Something I don't see it being right now even though I am coming around a bit.
If warrior becomes Tier 1 or 2 with this new expansion, it will NOT be because of this Hero card. It will be because of all the Mech support that allows this Hero card to actually shine. This is NOT a good stand alone card. It needs mech support or the battlecry is pointless. The armor gain doesn't win games. And the Hero Power changes each turn without you having a say in what it will be.
Most of the other hero cards are stand alone good. You play them, because they give you immediate value AND they typically give you long term value.
This will be played, but will not be the reason Warrior becomes Tier 2 or 1. If that even happens.
What ???, this hero is the perfect "I can do everthing " stand alone type of card. You dont even have to play any mech in your deck if you want to, and the hero battlecry still works. Because this card can self provide Mech via the 3 1/1 microbot and the Delivery Drone option. So this card can provide you infinite value, check. Infinite damage and removal? Check. Create big guy with RUSH? Check. SPAM board with small guys? Check. Gain sh*tload of armor for 2 mana? Check. Protect board from token decks? Check. Trust me, this card gonna be backbone of any CW decks from now until it leave Standard, provide the solid base for other shiny cards( if warrior get any lol) to dominate the game
While the HP is I can do everything is accurate, its not I can do what I want WHEN I want. Since the HP is random, you don't get to setup your perfect turns and do what YOU want. You adapt to the hero power and make it work for you or you can't.
In the late turns of a game, like this would be played in, do you really want 3 1/1s with Rush if your opponent has large taunts in the way or big minions? You say sure! I have execute. Ok, that's great, but what if you have the execute, but dont have the HP that summons the little mechs?
The HP is strong, but requires OTHER cards to be useful. It also requires you to get have specific cards in your hand at the same time. Everyone is talking about Reckless Flurry and Execute and a bunch of other cards. Hence, you prove my point. The card is not Stand Alone good. You will need that Shield Slam AND the HP that gives you armor. What if you have 1 but not the other? What if you have your execute, but you get the Armor power?
Also, if you don't have any mechs in hand, then the Battlecry is also useless. I have played many times a Quest Warrior deck and sometimes, you simply don't draw all of your taunts early enough. You have to decide how much of your deck space you are going to dedicate to Mechs, removal and weapon stuff.
For example, the Hero card for Warlock is actually Stand Alone good. You could resummon 1 demon and it would still be worth it? Why, because you are doing 3 damage AND gaining 3 Health every single time you use the HP. This wins games on its own.
Edit - Can you play this in any Warrior deck from now on? That's the claim? Nope. I am arguing against that. In Taunt Warrior, this really doesnt help.
It's a great card in a vacuum. Doesn't appear imbalanced as of now due to the randomness of the hero powers but it encourages creative deck building (mech warrior). It's strong, no doubt. Very playable
With the new revealed Warrior Omega card, this card is officially bonker! You only need to play this card and 2 of Omega card to have crazy late game, leave place for other cards in your control deck. Unless some crazy mech coming...
I think this card is pretty good. While it's true that it's a low tempo play, you don't have to play it on curve or anything. Also the fact that it gives you 7 armor is amazing with Shield Slam on turn 8 or Reckless Flurry on turn 10 for a 7 damage AoE minimum. The battlecry could also turn out being really good depending on what late game/control oriented mechs we get.
I think it could be playable if Warrior is a thing in the next expansion. Compare this to Malfurion the Pestilent and you have a worse battlecry but a much better hero power and +2 armor. Even the randomness doesn't matter because all the option from hp are good.
This is playable at worst and played in every control or Mech warrior at best. The RNG will be kinda unpredictable but all the options are playable or good at one point or another.
Why not Battlecry: "For the rest of the game your Mechs have Rush. Summon a 3/6 Water Mech?"
water mech?
why not 3/6 summon a war mech

I can't wait to craft this, or if I'm lucky, obtain it from my Boomsday packs (fingers crossed this will be my golden legendary!).
My only issue with this hero card is that the hero power randomizes on your opponent's turn, assuring they can plan around it. Having it randomize at the start of my turn would be a tremendous advantage in terms of unpredictability. Still, this is gonna be a fun card.
So I'm pretty sure that this card is going to define TBP meta. Good or not, this totally changes warrior and I can't wait to build my Boomy mech Warrior deck.
Warrior has been shown too much love throughout the previous expansion he doesn't need a new hero card. Why does he need he need it? he already has Fire Plumes which deals 8 damage to your face if you dont swarm the board with minions.

Yeah so much love that he is the least play class in the game for about 3 expansions in a row and only have 1 viable deck now. LoL LoL

Hope it's good, but I'm gonna craft it regardless. Even if it turns out to be garbage, it'll at least be fun.

They have rush too due to the initial battlecry of boom.
No shit it’s not good without mechs. Guldan is bad without demons and Jaina is way worse without elementals.
I wonder if an odd-tempo/control warrior could become a thing after this set.
