So, i recently got this card and i thought that maybe this one is kind of a sleeper right now? I mean, there is no objective reason to NOT play this card in most of the decks right? (except very specific combo decks with clear win conditions)
the most obvious deck for Zola the Gorgon is quest rogue i guess.
on the other hand, this card is comparable with Stitched Tracker, a hunter common with same stats and manacost, and his effect is probably even better (doesn't require living creature on board, option to choose).
So, help me evaluate this card. I'm not going to dust her, just want to check if i'm missing some spectacular combos with this card.
I love it. It was a day one craft more me. Has value at all stages in some shape or form. I use it mainly in control with n'zoth and beefy deathrattles. I've used it on doomsayers just for guaranteed clear. Tons of applications.
Stitched Tracker is unplayable in Hunter because it isn't a beast. Zola the Gorgon is not used much because good cards give you something for free, getting something you have to play just puts you behind. A 3 mana 2/2 needs to do more.
seems not bad, i tried jade rogue before K&C, used mimic pod isntead of elven minstrel. But i dont see this winning against kazakus priest with psychic scream (and cubelock aswell). there is a lack of card draw in this deck. And you realy should run valeera dk in jade rogue.
well, i get the message overal, that zola is good with jades...

What? Stitched tracker saw tons of play, and still does. I disagree on it putting you behind. It's won me many games, and has applications at every stage.
You typically don't have the chance to copy kaza but when you do it has great value. I have also used it to copy dragons and even velen is a Target I use more often. Play a beefy minion that when not removed will hit the enemy hard and forces him to remove it (because who wants a next turn 20 damage mind blast).
Anyway I think Zola has a lot of potential. I sort of feel rogue already has enough "back to hand and play battlecry again" cards. I think especially having this available to other classes is just great.

If that were true nobody would ever play Acolytle of Pain, cause it is a weak tempo play that puts stuff in your hand that you have to play later, right?

Anger is the punishment we give ourselves for someone else's mistake.
Zolo plus Sonya are quickly making quest rogue a thing again.
would love to see this. looking for some application for the card myself. batmans deck is looking alright, but don't want to craft aya for it. 'd much rather craft sonya and rogue quest. probably too expensive for me right now I just crafted tarim and vala'nyr for paladin, and got myself prince 3 for my cube stuff.
I'd love to get a rogue deck up and running though, as i would ideally like to have 1 for each class is is at least semi-viable for doing quests at least.

Essentially just a better neutral Manic Soulcaster. I will say that I do like her application in TTK Giant Quest Mage

I was pretty down on this card before release and the fact that I've barely seen him played on the ladder has done nothing to change my mind.
In essence, he has to past the test : "Which cards would still be worthwhile if you added 3 mana to their cost and all that they got in return was an additional 2/2 body?".
There may be some combolicious cards which give a positive response to this question but I haven't noticed anything tearing through Standard which uses Zola. It has a better chance in Wild, of course, but the competition for deck space is also tougher in that format.
If you don't care about winning very often, you can use it in "exodia" paladin, either to get more burgly bullies if you are having trouble getting coins, or on turn 10 with Lynessa to get a second one (or turn 9 with Tarim). It's not really necessary for the deck to work but I've found it does make it a little more consistent, particularly with Lynessa for the extra card draw (assuming you got two potions of heroism on something).

Actually, she could also help with the hero button quest, putting copies of your 4 horsemen into your hand could be pretty good.

It can be good with Bonemare, discounted giants, Arcane Tyrant, Kazakus, any value minions.

Might become broken in new expansions . I say it has a great value.

Try this deck, it is very solid:
Stitched Tracker is unplayable in Hunter because it isn't a beast. Zola the Gorgon is not used much because good cards give you something for free, getting something you have to play just puts you behind. A 3 mana 2/2 needs to do more.
Free to try and find a game, dealing cards for sorrow, cards for pain.
This deck has a lot of card draw mechanics ~ Bloodmage Thalnos, Fan of Knives and also Shadowstep with Elven Minstrel for 4 freaking cards
I user it in my Highlander deck with dragons, this one:

You need to watch this:
You can do some pretty insane things with Zola in wild. Dane's got a few more videos with this deck if you're interested in learning more.
As mentioned, it's kind of insane good in Quest Priest with Amara.
