I think it will be meta defining in standard. I have reached ranked 2 several times with overload decks which rely on board clear + evolve after turn 5-6, running 2 of Volcano and Lightning storm. Same deck also ran jade claws. These giants would add only strength to "clear then evolve strategy", especially with addition of DK
I can see this card being used in control shaman with spirit echo/ancestral spirit. You have lots of stalling effects and minions with overload in contol shaman.
Unplayable. Lets say you overload 5 crystals to get it to 6. You will be so handicaped by the overload in turn 6 that an 8/8 will make no diference. Disgusting card.
You are thinking this and overload in general completely wrong way. Don't try to curve out with overload, instead combine multiple cards on same turn to cause massive swings that would be normally completely impossible. For example, you could play some overload cards early-mid game (Lightning Storms, Feral Spirit w/e) and then when key moment comes you drop Volcano, Earth Elemental and Snowfury Giant on the same turn. That is spending 10 mana for about 20 mana worth of effects and is pretty darn impressive.
Anyone gonna talk about how it says "for every mana crystal" instead of "for every Mana Crystal" like Lava Shock, Innervate, Wild Growth, Blastcrystal Potion, or anything to do with Mana Crystals— they're all capitalized.
I wonder if we're going to get expansions with more class-specific Giants... Rogue Giant that costs less for every Combo? Warrior giant that costs less for each point of damage you dealt to your own minions? Who knows, but this breaks the neutral epic giant rule...
On another note, first class-specific Giant. And it has the Elemental tag. Does this mean that the other Giants will become Elementals, or does it mean this isn't really a 'giant', one of those noncanon entities that the HS devs like to make?

Shaman needs more tools to clear its overloaded crystals to make an Overload deck happen.

might make the new taunt card viable.
2 of those alone and this thing costs 5.
The only reason they made this card is so that 10 drops can be evolved and 12 drops devolved. As a card on its own, ehhhhhhhhh
Check out my fun evolve decks

Evolve Elemental: http://www.hearthpwn.com/decks/813707-evolve-elemental
The Elemental tag also makes it quite versatile, as it can fit both Elemental or more Control/spell decks or a mix of both.
In Wild Lava Shock is already a thing, but in Standard Eternal Sentinel could also see more play (not as good as shock tho ofc).
I'm pretty sure I'll try something like this as soon as I can:
Or variations with Spirit Echo or Elemental Destruction.
I don't see this being played that much in standard, but I think this will be a terror in Wild Aggro Shaman.
There aren't even many cards I want to play that have overload on them anymore. Jade Claws (1), Lightning Storm (2), Jinyu (1), Volcano (2).
If you somehow played 2 copies of ALL of those in a game, then you can drop this for free.
Just playble.
My magic will tear you apart!
Anyone know when the live stream reveal is today (in uk time)? Appreciate ya.
I think this card could work in a high value control Shaman deck with Spirit Echo. This is something to explore in standar and wild.
I played a shaman deck that used the 4 mana 7/7, earth elementals, frost giants, arcane giants and faceless shamblers. This fits in nicely tbh.

Overall just a good card, nothing OP as such, but def a strong card if you play it in the right deck.
It could work in a wild deck for sure.
Shhhh it's a secret.
