Although Call of the Wild is intended to be a powerful late game option, it is over performing at 8 mana. By moving it to 9 mana we intend to tone down its power enough that it won’t be an automatic inclusion in every Hunter deck and overshadow other strategies.

I didn't have a signature so Flux added one for me.
Rating: 5/5. Nerf was really necessary, and i've postet it in another thread that a nerf to 9 mana would be the best change. It seems my prayers were heard and it got nerfed to an appropriate amount!
Would rather see this at 10 mana, but increasing it to 9 is still a very good nerf :)
I'm so happy Blizzard is finally doing something right! :D :D :D

What is Hearthstone to you? A fun and semi-competitive game with wacky effects and crazy RNG outcomes or just a card game you wanna grind as many wins you can get as fast as possible in?
Very good nerf. It'll still be a very strong card, it'll still be a staple in midrange hunter, but you are given an extra turn to prepare plus no more t6 highmane t7 highmane t8 cotw shenanigans.
basically if I told you on turn 9 you c an use 1 card to play Animal Companion 3 times and get 1 of each beast would you put that card in your deck?
The answer should be a resounding "Hell Yes!"
Call of the Wild was ridiculously OP at 8 mana and now it's just really good at 9 mana. Don't really see a change other than maybe some players decide on a more balanced curve and play only 1 instead of 2.
I think it's a pretty fair nerf as players will still play it but it's not quite as OP.
Well I might be a Hunter fan. BUT Hunters biggest offender is getting nerfed which is Shaman. So this was necessary. I dont want to share my beloved class with plebs again. Hope Zoo wont rise to top again, causing Hunter to be new Priest.
HAHA! I knew to hold onto my (checks quickly) 3 regular call of the wilds and one golden copy. YES!
As self rewarding, greedy, selfish as this is, I really don't care about the balance of hunter. Sorry Rexxar, my collection doesn't care bout you!
Somebody will be rolling in the dust soon ;)
HA! Yes!

There is no reasoning to change it to 10 mana, 9 yes for each companion is 3 mana.
If they put it to 10 mana, they would need to add charge to all of the companions to make it reasonable.
Sorry, but every animal companion is actually worth 4 mana, leokk maybe 3,5 mana. Animal companion gives it a 1 mana reduction and now Call of the wild reduced all 3 of them for another 1 mana. So yes, 10 mana might actually be possible, but that would be too much.
But 9 mana is actually huge, since you can't no longer CoTW and Hero Power on turn 10, and 2 less damage can actually be very huge. And you can actually prepare more on turn 8 for CoTW, so the nerf is really big.
Call of the Wild is receiving a nerf!

Well, it's still a good card actually. It could've been 10 mana and still a good card. The effect is really strong.
My custom Expansion: Wrath of The Lich King
I love playing hunter and I find this nerf to be reasonable. It only makes sense to make it 9 mana since each companion costs 3.

can still be coined in turn 8 if wanted.
as midrange hunter main i feel sad about this but well..
atleast its not 10 mana so still good card

Fuck cubelock
their are tons of other things you can do on turn 8 lol, why are people crying?
Would have liked to see it at 10 mana, but at least they're acknowledging how batshit crazy this card really is.
This might be the most thoughtful and appropriate nerf blizzard has ever performed
"Hello. Would you like to destroy some evil today?"
It's still a good card. I'd still play two copies if it was 10 mana.
Still OP, but it's a step in the right direction. I'm waiting for it to become 10 mana.
a good nerf but i see some ppl calling for a 10 mana nerf which would be too much
Probably the most reasonable nerf Blizzard ever made. Still a strong card but not utterly boken
A glorious bundle of salt.
