It's obviously quite powerful, probably about 8/8 stats for 6 mana (the worst option is 5/8 when you get Alarm-o-Bot)
But while it be comparable to the best 6-drops in the game, it isn't overpowering them. It's on a lower rarity level than most of them though, so it might become problematic in Arena.
A very solid card, can see it being an auto pick in the arena, but does it have enough synergy to fit in the current crop of Mage constructed decks? Apart from a Brann/Reno deck, probably not.
the question is whether mage really needs another 6 drop in addition to conjurer, furthermore this is not necessarily better than cairne at what it does ... Cairne makes guaranteed 18 points of stats and this will be on average about 16,5 ... it is battlecry instead of Deathrattle though! Altogether playable, but not insane!
At first I was angry that Mage got such a good card... then again, it isn't THAT great. It keeps mage from casting a spell on a turn in the midgame, it's not sticky so you can probably remove what pops out quite easily as Priest, especially with Embrace the Shadow.
So, like... Based on what you've seen of this set so far, you're really planning on packing Priest with Embrace the Shadow...? That sounds like an uphill battle, my man.
I feel like people are vastly overestimating this card. Sure, it's a decent card, but nowhere near the powerlevel of, for example, Mysterious Challenger (also a 6-drop). This is comparable to 6-drops like Cabal Shadow Priest, Savannah Highmane, Piloted Sky Golem or Fire Elemental.
From my end, my problems stem from the rarity more than the actual card itself. Mage is already a top-tier Arena class and this is really going to help push them over the edge. Simply making this a rare would have fixed that.
I don't actually think it'll see too much play in Constructed.

I agree with this guy, the main concern is the fact it's another great common for Mage in arena. Like Mage doesn't have enough along with Ethereal Conjurer also being common. This should really be a rare for that reason.
No spell synergy, but lots of minion value. Seems an odd card for mage, albeit a strong one.
What would a tempo mage give up to have this in the deck? Or will they shift to mid-range with the absence of Scientists? This is going to be ridiculous in Renomage, though, just like Cabalist's Tome.
Yes, it's a good card, but I don't really see how people think it's broken. (except for arena because it's common.)
A 5/5 is acceptable for 5 mana. A 3 cost minion is worth 3. 5+3 = 8. This is 8 mana of card in 6 mana. I don't know about you; but an 8 drop for 6 mana seems broken. It's like a free Innervate without eating up a deck slot; while simultaneously drawing and playing the free minion as well.
I'm not sure how you can look at a 8 drop for 6 mana and not call it broken.
And the fact that this is a 3 mana minion matters. The 3 slot is rather empty of outright detrimental cards. The worst thing you can pull is Alarm-o-Bot which could still wind up good and at least is a 3HP pseudo-taunt. It's not like Shredder which can pop out a Doomsayer and cost you the game.
One of the most common 6 mana plays is Hero Power+Shredder, one of the best 8 mana plays is double Shredder. Cards like Challenger, Tiron, Highmane and Dr Boom are mostly just raw power, the key point that its in a form that is awkward to deal with.
Every single example in your "detailed explanation" are straight up low tier cards, most of them with significant draw backs. This card requires nothing but 6 mana and gives you good to huge power in two decent sized bodies.
Oh joy, another random mage card that has a fairly consistant 'good' outcome. Is there even a 'bad' 3 drop this thing can pull? As long as it summons a 1/2 it breaks even in stats with Boulderfist, and I want to say having it split into 2 bodies can actually be more beneficial in some matchups, since that extra body has a chance to have pretty good stats/effects on it's own.
At least it's not as random as Unstable "Turn 6 Tirion" Portal, so that's one good thing I have to say about it.
Can't say I'm excited to see mages getting this card... but then I'm stupidly biased against mages, so that could just be me.

I guess you are going to pretend that these cards don't exist in the game already. Yes Battlecry is slightly better than deathrattle because it can't be silenced, but come on. Savannah Highmane is more reliably better and Piloted Sky Golem is gets a 4 drop with the same stats.

in Arena this is bonkers!
So I did a little math with the odds of what this minion will summon. I put all 3 mana minions in Stranded into 5 categories
Very Bad- No value or Ruins Game (eg. Dreadscale)
Bad- Bad Stats, stats below 5 total (eg. Druid of the Flame)
Average- 6 total stats (eg. Warhorse Trainer)
Good- 7 total stats or Good Effect (eg. Imp Gang Boss)
Amazing- Great Stats, avoids battlecry (eg. King Mukla)
So after calulations you have a
3% Very Bad
20% Bad
33% Average
39% Good
5% Amazing.
So in short this is a very solid card.
This is f*cking ridiculous.
job's done.

Dr.Boom for Mage only class? #Feelbadman for other class. :(

Because Mages of all classes needed stupidly over-budgeted common minions for Arena.
