Nothing wrong with this card. It's good to great stats. But, I think it suffers from being buffed by C'thun instead of the other way around. I think C'thun decks are going to be best using C'thun as a finisher. This does nothing to further that strategy. I think folks will rather play something in the 4 slot that buffs C'thun than this.
Its' a little bit like Blackwing Technician to me. Blackwing Technician would be fantastic if it had teh Dragon tag, then it could feed into your dragon strategy instead of feeding out of it. As such there are usually better options. That being said, a Naked Amberweaver is a better card than a naked Blackwing Technician, so maybe I'll be wrong. But, my guess is that folks will choose a 4 drop that buffs Cthun instead of this in Cthun decks, assuming a good 4 drop option exists.
Blackwing technician sees play in literally every single dragon deck. And the opponent having to deal with auto-ramped 4/10 minions DOES further the strategy of finishing the opponent with a big minion. Why do you think reno/handlocks run twilight drake ?
And if a good 4 drop that buffs C'thun will exist, then it will see play WITH klaxxi amber weaver, not replace it. Have you ever built a deck ? Do you know anything about synergy ?
Ooooookay, great, buuuuuut-- why C'thun? Klaxxi had no business with C'thun, even Old Gods themselves have no business (apart from fighting, of course) with each other.
Klaxxi have been worshippers of Y'Shaarj, I wish this card will be changed somehow - leave it 4/5 with the exact same effect, but the name and art should really change :/
While true, Klaxxi (and basically all of the WoW insect races) are pretty big fans of the old gods in general, I think we can let this one slide
It's just a pile of stats with a condition to be met to earn them. With no taunt and no beast synergy. It doesn't have the 5 attack needed for clearing larger minions, and can be silenced back down to a 4/5.
Question: Is it really any better than a Druid of the Fang?
Beast synergy isn't important in a C'Thun deck, the 5 attack to deal with bigger minions is meta dependant.. the midrange minnions commonly used rotate out with standard..
druid of the fang requires a board state while this card jsut requires you to play cards in your C'thun deck so it's better than Druid of the Fang

On the contrary, it does a lot to further the strategy of a C'Thun deck: it helps you control the board and survive until C'Thun is played by using a healthy minion. It can even bait a silence (and it's still strong even if it does). It's just going to be a bit awkward to play it without being buffed if you haven't been able to manage its buff conditions by the time you decide to play it. And that means having a good chance of a nice minion curve with interactions a la dragon priest. Which in turn means that the cards we haven't seen yet will very likely make a big difference in C'Thun decks.
I see a lot of potentional for a battle cry deck + C'Thun, Brann Bronzebeard makes this a 4/15 and you can syergize this with Defender of Argus on turn 5 or when ever you combo this. This could wall some serious face decks.
Well, I don't play Blackwing Technicians in my Dragon Priest. I use Dark Cultists instead. So, I think you are patently wrong that every Dragon Deck uses Blackwing Technicians. I certainly don't. And I suspect a ton of folks don't. There are better options at 3 mana than a 2/4 that can conditionally become a 3/5.
And I think the idea that if there is a good 4 drop that buffs C'thun exists taht Amber Weaver will be played with it is circumspect. Amber Weaver will have to be better than other options at 4 mana to be included. Things like Swipe, Keeper of the Grove, and Savage Combatant. You can't simply fill your deck with 4 drops because you like them all, you have to pick the best ones.
Amber Weaver doesn't further the C'thun strategy, It will need to stand on it's own merit. I suspect that it won't make the cut and cards like the imaginary 4 drop that buffs C'thun, Swipe, Keeper, and even Savage Combatant will out value it.
I agree with you you can't rule off cards so far specially not from the C'thun archtype since we didn't see all the neutral choices which C'thun decks will like to use.
Yeti used to be staple in druid. Piloted is cycled out, in standard anyways. This card is yeti with upside. I can't possibly imagine this card being bad unless cthun decks as a whole just can't work due to meta being to fast or the most popular decks being complete counters to cthun decks in some form or shape.
And srsly it's not just about having a possible turn4 4/10. This is great even when drawn lategame when cthun is alrdy a dead 16/16 or some crap. Guaranteed 4/10 at that point.

Except this dude is already on curve. 4 mana 4/5, where as the tech is not.
Hm this realy depends on how good other C`thun cards are at least its a yeti but alone its only a yeti. I still dont buy this vanilla minion archetype but at least its additional value for those cards.
Since the Card does not state "Wherever it is" as all the other synergy Cards like Beckoner of Evil , I ask myself whether C'Thun has to be on the board to get the buff on Klaxxi Amber-Weaver .
I personally think that is just a Blizzard-inconsitency in wording (wouldn't be the first time), but then again, the wording could actually be on purpose...
You guys miss the point.
This isn't a 4 drop. This is a turn 6-8 card that costs 4 mana that on bad draws can be played on Turn 4.

Oh look, another druid card that won't be used.

But seriously, I expect this card will be preeeetttty good, whether it's as a 4/5 or 4/10, which is INSANE. Props to the team at Blizzard.
Damn you snowboarders!
