Aggro is pretty much skillless cancer. That's not something inherently wrong with the archetype, that's Blizzards fault.
Yes, i wish Blizz would handle card rarity in a way, that all the cheap f2p-Decks would be full control Decks, while Aggrodecks where full of Legendarys and Epics. That way we would see MUCH less aggro stuff and more cool control
i think the most plausible solution to this problem is making skillful aggrodecks. Decks that can end the game by turn 5 (because it's aggro) but: have to make a lot of meaningful, difficult decisions in the earlygame, have to know how and when to trade, have to calculate lethals turns ahead...
There are plenty of ways to have difficult aggro decks
Hearthstone is not p2w, u can be completely free and reach legend, if it was then that would be impossible. U won't have every deck/card but u can still easily enjoy the game.
many decks can be made easier by deck choice and tech cards u run. This is where most of the skill of the game is but most players just net deck and go.
the biggest problem in the game imo is kelaseth and patches, they r in every aggressive deck and sometimes make it into even raza priest.
raza priest is strong, t5 raza and t8 anduin is pretty much game over but every deck has nut draws. And it still take skill to pilot and what tech cards to use to maximize ur survival when u don't hit that early raza and anduin
every deck has strengths and weaknesses, stop crying and learn to adapt.
you mean raza + priest and druid + jade? patches is nothing, I don't know why people cry about it so much. machine gun priest and jade is waaaayyyy worse.
Yesterday I was just facing weird decks. Decks that haven't been played in months. Cards that you never see played. Seemed like a lot of people were just goofing around.
That’s what ive been doing lately. Silly decks that are just fun.... Control Paladin that just goes all in on getting multiple Marin’s Treasures, A Deadmans Warrior that tries to shuffle Marin/Deathknight/Ysera cards... stuff like that.

Fun fact: There's almost no aggro in the meta at the moment. Keleseth Rogue isn't aggro. Zoo isn't aggro. Maybe some variants of Hunter might be and Pirate Warrior but have you really seen a lot of those? I don't think so.
When a deck goes face 90%+ of the time rather than trading, it's aggro

Hunter most of the time will go face yet its definitely a midrange deck.
Edit: But Aggro Token Druid is definitely aggro and I see them quite a bit.

A “skillful aggro deck” IS just any aggro deck. You can ignore everything and go face and win 45-50% of the time, but if you plan ahead and think about your plays your winrate will be much higher. Pirate warrior was claimed to be a no skill deck, yet the average idiot could only win around 50% of the time with it, yet take any professional HS player and their winrate with the deck was MUCH higher.

Incorrect. It's aggressive then, not necessarily aggro. All Aggro decks are aggressive. Not all Aggressive decks are aggro though.

The thing with most aggro decks I don't think people realize is that it's all about the early game. That is where the decisions and aggro player must make are important. Knowing when trading will net you more damage in later turns for example. This is especially true when facing other aggro decks.
I don't think Aggro is "hard" to play but I wouldn't call it brain dead. I will say though it's on the lower end of "skill needed" to pilot well.
that's why I like to spend the first weeks playing arena. Another positive side of that is that you can play with the majority of the new cards and test their stand alone value

Incorrect. It's aggressive then, not necessarily aggro. All Aggro decks are aggressive. Not all Aggressive decks are aggro though.
Essentially, an "Aggro" deck is a deck that intends to kill the opponent as quickly as possible with as much damage in a short time as possible. This doesn't mean going "Face" 90% of the time if there are more important options for clearing the board / threats first. It simply means a requirement to maximise your damage output / time.
Now:
Aggro decks emphasise face damage over board control, often ignoring the opponent's minions entirely.
But that doesn't mean an aggro deck cant make sensible trades to achieve its core goal of a quick kill.

Keleseth Rogue is ALL about board control. Maybe little closer to aggro tho, with Leeroy Coldblood shenanigans.
Sure. Hence I personally don't think Keleseth Rogue is really an "Aggro" deck per se, since it looks to overwhelm the opponent over time / board presence rather than killing them as fast as physically possible. (That may be what you are also saying - in which case, are we saying the same thing?)
IMO it's going to be a well balanced meta, and certainly not entirely control and combo... it can never be completely control as the meta always will self correct to counter itself. That's what tier 2 is for.
If the meta was just all one archetype, it would be terrible, in fact it would be impossible. a "meta" is a state in which the game enters based on what counters what. a meta of all one kind of deck wouldn't even be a meta.
ehh, aggro is finally balanced, Pirate Warrior can no longer have you at 10 hp by turn 3, face hunter has long since been dead, aggro shamman doesn't work without trogg, 1 mana spirit claws and totem golem and plenty of classes finally have AoE to deal with vomit-their-hands-and-go-face type of decks
but as a warlock main getting all those new fancy cards - oh mama. Can't wait to improve my survive-ability. Against aggro my deck stands better chances than, let's say Priest. So I welcome those decks more.
Fuck cubelock
