The problem is less about playability since it seems players will craft card for decks they want to play or what's t1 or t2 but has more an physiological problem.
But the playability is also questionable. But lest assume its playable or at least meme worthy. And lets hope blizzard was smart enough not to make more odd/even matter Legendary card in this set.
The problem is there is anything from (1 per class + the 2 legendary card)11-35+ add/even matter card in the set. Now im opening all those card that im assuming will be horrible if i dont get Genn Greymane or Baku the Mooneater in an booster. It was fine with T'chun since everyone got it.
i would also like to know do we get one or both for free? Or should we just hope we open one, not to make an bunch card we get unplayable garbage. Unless, if that the point and blizzard is trying to force is to craft them to make the unplayable card's playable.
Overall in summer it creates an negative experience for player that didnt open them. Since they cant use all of their cards.
There is at last 3 or more identical topic around and tons of highlights in the news with all the details: use the search before posting.
We'll get just 1 class legendary, so no neutral ones. C'Thun was gifted because otherwise some cards of WotOG would have been totally unplayable while here you could always make an odd/even-only that "works".
If they are that core to the set then both or at the very least one should be given away for free. It's honestly a missed opportunity for by Blizzard but we'll see how the expansion works out.

How many cards have been released? 8? 10? It is a little early to be worried about 'problems with the set'. We don't even know if Genn etc. is going to get much more support cards.

No ! They won’t be core at all, and we don’t get them for free!!
Mike Donais already mentioned only very few even/odd cards will be revealed this expansion.
He also said some classes don’t get any of these odd/even class-specific cards at all!

Agree. WIth ~10% of the cards having been shown... a little premature to state there is an issue with play-ability. Are they lackluster or maybe not as exciting to some, yes, but certainly nothing that affects play-ability at this point. If there was an issue with them, don't purchase the cards and keep playing similar decks to those already in play.

Glad there won't be more restrictive cards, otherwise, there would be less freedom to make good/fun decks.
I am pretty sure classes who they will give support for the odd/even theme will have odd/even cards without odd/even restricted effect .
This means that you can more easily build a odd/even deck but still be able to use those cards in a "regular" deck .
I mean of course all cards are odd or even but what I mean is let's say create a odd mage spell that does direct dmg to compensate not being able to play frostbolt or fireball . Now this is a bad example because I am not sure you want to give mage more direct dmg but maybe a 3 mana deal 5 to a minion type of thing . This would push the Odd mage deck but still be playable elsewhere .
I know you can still play an odd/even deck even without the legendary card. That is way i said it has more to do with emotions and the feel bad moment were lets say you opened all the non legendary odd/even matter card now it some players will be upset they didnt open the legendaries and have 'useless' cards. I know the reverse is also true but i would like to think most players is more willing to craft an non legendary over an legendary for an deck.
From an companies standpoint you dont want to do that just think how upset players would have been of C'thun wasnt given out to everyone yes he wasnt that good but that doesn't change the feel bad moment were you open bad card or atleast card you think their bad.
An example might be iceblock the card creates an situation were it feels like you killed the opponent but didnt making you feel that you have to beat your opponent over and over again making you feel cheated out of an win, but in truth they did spend an card to do that that could have been an removal for example. An other example is quest most of them were bad but it was still upsetting for some players since they couldn't play them wile everyone that got them did.
And I think Blizzard should have given Genn or Baku for free instead of an random class one.

Team 5 is composed of paid professional game designers working on an extremely popular game. You barely write at a third grade level. Every single person working on Hearthstone is unquestionably smarter than you.

1)Not everyone that play this game is English. BTW English isnt my 1st language.
2)smart =/= wise or good at your job, the reverse is also possible.
3)They can't test everything their only Human.
4)Even if the odd/even is an good design, that doesn't mean its was implemented good.
5)parasitic game mechanics like for example odd/even isnt an good design because if i open the high rarity ones and not Genn or Baku that will give you an negative experience. I know it doesnt matter because most players will just craft the missing stuff but, creating I feel bad moments opening booster is not something you want. People that have an negative experience might stop playing or will stop spending money on the game. This is especially true for people that only open an few booster per expansion. And yes i know someone that only play the 1st few days of an expansion and the the few days before it, then stop playing and start again before the new one is released.I know it doesn't apply to everyone but i asked him he said he use to buy booster but stopped because he cant rely make decks with the amount he opens and the booster he buys is normally bad so he even stop buying them. The reason he stopped was because he kept opening jade cards without opening Aya (he crafted her for jade Rogue, the only jade deck he play's)
6)I assumed the odd/even deck is playable, what i tried to say was that an random class card and not giving Genn or Baku is the thing they did wrong that has nothing to do with how they make cards. The other thing i said was about other legendary odd/even class legendary card they might be good smart game design wise but that doesnt mean it good putting them into the game. You want want to give something that has an theme in the set. Frozen throne;DK, Ungoro:Quest's, Kobolds: Weapons, Gadgetzan should be an gang leader and the new set an odd/even legendary. An random class legendary has nothing to do with the sets sub theme.
7)Even magic that has more experience at making card games and even after 25 year they make mistakes and they also have smart people on their design team. What happened there was over time the team got more and more casual and wanted to do more interesting thing and in doing so they let an few broken card though that 'broke' the game
8)And if team 5 is an good as you clearly think they are then they would never nerf card's or nerf them before they become an problem. They would also have known corridor creeper was broken because unlike us the player they played with the card and knew how easy is it do discount it. They also wouldn't have made jade idol an card that many players hate since it almost invalidates or make an few deck archetypes bad.
9)if i write bad at least point out my grammar and/or spelling mistakes.

For what profit is it to a man, if he gains the world and loses his own soul?
There are always synergies between cards, these are just more obvious. Some legendaries are must-have for competitive play, that's not new.
But sure, Genn and Baku will probably be important legendaries for this set.

This concern may be why the preorder offer 70 cards this time rather than 50.
Nevertheless, I won't preorder at least until I see most of the set revealed.
I like elementals and totems.
Potential problem with the new set: there might be cards. I might have to acquire them. Greedy blizz.
