Hello all. I have been anticipating some new control warlock game play with KFT, and now that it is here i have gotten around to experimenting with some different card combinations. After much tweaking and i've reached something i am very happy with and am enjoying a lot. I think it's pretty badass that Bloodreaver Gul'dan is a n'zoth for demons!
There's so much damage and destruction available to warlock that it is not too complicated to consistently wipe the board, but maintaining your flow of cards and health leading up to when you play your hero is the trickier part.
This may contain a bunch of cards you already expected to see, but i've also picked a few you may not have! So i am going to briefly explain why i chose these before you dismiss them.
Sense Demons - This card is not seen a lot at all, but i have always liked using a copy in demon oriented decks. Even more so in this one, because you do want to draw your demons prior to playing the DK to increase the value of the battlecry, but also because they pack a lot of AOE with them as well. It's Arcane Intellect for demons. Two copies would be too many, but one really bolsters consistency.
Violet Illusionist - Okay, this one is probably not a huge surprise, but it's a great card to have. Throughout the match you will be doing damage to yourself drawing cards and playing aoe damage and whatnot. This minion can save you a ton of life points. It will take a bit of planning your order of play, but you can use this effect to play Abyssal Enforcer, hero power and other similar effects without taking the damage yourself. It can be a huge annoyance and your opponent will likely be forced to put resources into removing them.
Prince Valanar - Alright! Yes, a prince is in this deck. Prior to including this i was running 2x Hellfire. They were the only 4-cost cards in the deck, and i was thinking of my options for restoring health or avoiding damage. Browsing my collection reminded me i actually opened this dude from a pack, but i had no idea what to do with him at the time. A 4 mana 4/4 with taunt that can also heal you for at least 4 is great imo. Earthen Ring Farseer is a 3 mana 3/3 that only heals you for 3, and only once with a battlecry. Huge value in comparison if you ask me with this prince. I was also looking at Bloodworm because of the lifesteal, and this is much better than that as well. I am now glad i have this, key card right here!
Illidan Stormrage - Yep, Illidan is back! You'll play it as usual and your opponent will destroy it promptly. But wait, what's this? You can summon him back later in the game for free?! Deal! In comparison to many other demons available, this one doesn't screw you with damage or discards, and actually produces a lot of value and threat. If you have this card i recommend playing it here. This is his deck!
I have only played a few games of this revised list since testing previous versions, but it has felt massively improved and crushed a couple druids, so i'm confident in sharing it now. Let me know if you have any questions or feedback, and hopefully some of you out there can enjoy this deck :)
I love the violet illusionist. My friend started putting them into his drawing dead mans weapon warrior deck (sounds absolutely stupid, I know, but it crushes midrange and control decks right now). Anyway, it's such an underrated card, and can get so much value, I will likely try out this deck, thanks!
I like Violet Illusionist as well. I love preventing damage from late-game Flame Imps and even from HP. But do you really use her to prevent damage from AOE? I wouldn't pay 3 mana and a card to prevent 3 or even 5 damage unless I had to. Also, how come you don't run Lord Jaraxxus?
Jaraxxus in this deck? Well, I don't want to have such an expensive card that could obstruct the general strategy of this deck.
The entire end-game goal is to become Bloodreaver Gul'dan. If i play Jaraxxus i'll be limiting myself to 15 health when i could likely have more, and i am spending 9 mana that i could have used more effectively. Jaraxxus would give me 3 whole damage, and if it's to a minion i will also take damage.
Then i am vulnerable for the next turn and would likely lose. Plus it could overwrite Bloodreaver Gul'dan if i had already played it which is even worse. Then it's a high-cost dead card, so it's not a good idea here imo.
I don't see how running this package is in any way superior than the classic Mountain Giant, Twilight Drake and Sunfury Protector. The general gameplay is the same, with the bonus that you can put out bigger minions. Just cut some of the mediocre spells for more healing and you are set.

Well this deck is build around Bloodreaver Gul'dan, essentially N'Zoth, the Corruptor for demons. The plan is to cover the board with bloody hellfire to destroy everything in your way and throw down demons to contest and consume your opponent's removal and other resources. You aim to culminate in massive late-game value with your hero card.
Playing those cards from handlock would mean a couple things:
- it would likely be incredibly difficult to summon Mountain Giant at a point in the game that could get you any measurable amount of value
- Twilight Drake would not receive a decent enough amount of health to be worth playing, and also would likely just die to my board clears
- Sunfury Protector would likely have little to no targets to apply taunt to because my minions do not survive on the board to long through the game, and there's really no minion with more than 6 health anyway
- that would take up deck slots for demons and removal that is crucial to the functionality of this deck
Make a couple changes after more play and also seeing the current meta. I have met quite a number of druids today, so i made on change based solely on that, and another for control vs control matchups, which can be pretty close otherwise.
You missed something. You mention removing 4 cards and added 5. I have high hopes for Skulking Geist. Flame Imp is, of course, just about always included and letting Guldan rez 7 demons is better than 5. Can you explain why do you include Gnomeferatu? My (low rank) meta is mostly dominated by Shamans, so having 3 attack can be really important and 3 health is practically the same as 2. I can't think of any aggro Druid cards where this change matters; Is that for Jade Druid?
I can sort of see that; you use Skulking Geist to blow up their Jade Idols and Earthen Scales and then Gnome off their quality stuff. Seems a little shaky, though. You'd rather play them in opposite order just due to mana cost.
Maybe I'm just not seeing it because I don't have the cards to try the deck for myself (curses! I accidentally got Un'Goro packs instead of Frozen). Still, it seems like you need more immediate impact type cards--Doomguards, for example.
Also, what about tossing Bloodmage Thalnos? Surely, the card draw is better than letting the Zealot survive an extra turn when you're not combining with Defile, right?
All in all, I still find the deck interesting. I hope you don't mind all of poking and prodding.

I am playing Gnomeferatu because it's good vs other control decks who play a lot of high-value cards, especially highlander decks. Playing 2 means your opponent effectively has a 28 card deck. Plus it's also enjoyable to see one of their key cards burned =D It's not really a huge deal in which order you play them. If you are playing a jade druid and burn a jade idol early it is not bad. Later in the game it may matter more, but it involves you having both to have a choice in that sense.
You mentioned high impact cards like Doomguard. While it's a good card in general, i really don't want to discard with this deck, and i don't find my hand empty too often. This plays more around consistent removal until you can reach your hero card. Bloodmage is good also, but i am preferring the Zealots right now for their divine shield because it is better as an early drop. Argent Squire with spellpower. The card draw deathrattle is not entirely necessary imo as i use the hero power a lot anyway, but it certainly isn't a bad idea.
Edit: Turns out Skulking Geist didn't do enough. Replacing it with the second Dread Infernal again, and also reverted to one Twisting Nether for Bane of Doom. Less clunky.

You might not draw Bloodreaver Gul'dan in time so I would suggest Lord Jaraxxus too.
I use this.
