I am thinking about pairing The Marsh Queen with Deathstalker Rexxar and Prince Keleseth could really work out to be something strong for hunters when the Frozen Throne drops next month. I have put together an initial theory deck to try to work out what would be the most optimal setup.
I must admit that this is something i'd like to try. Though i'd throw out tracking, since you could get marsh queen and rexxar/prince to choose from, but it definitely helps to find cards sooner. I think that this can be a killer wild archetype.
What's the angle on Devilsaur Egg? Other than keleseth buffing it slightly SOME of the time, what other ways do you have to get value out of it?
Keleseth looks like a trap. He's only good if you miracle roll him in opening turns. After that he's a shit vanilla 2/2. He also doesn't buff your hand, only the deck, so you don't get any immediate value when you play him. Looks like a very mediocre reward for giving yourself no 2 drops or secrets or anything.
You can play him later on, when your deck gets filled with 4/3 raptors. I must admit that eggs are a bit confusing for me to, i think there are better choices.

To be fair, there's also the chance you get Leokk out of Animal Companion... which would allow for Devilsaur Egg to attack and be killed. Or the Egg could be killed by some AoE... but I agree, the risk of not leveraging it is high enough.
Maybe add Defender of Argus or something like that? Or simply replace the Egg altogether?
Mistress of mixtures might be cool, you need time to survive until you finish the quest/drop hero card, especially considering you're usually dead on t5 against pw and a bit later against token decks. Healing them shouldn't be a problem since you're going for late game.
With that said, im pretty excited to use my golden Marsh Queen and of course im always so eternally hopefully for something different for Hunter all together.
so i was just thinking sense the zombeasts can have death rattles that means nzoth would res them right? and if so you could make some kind of super nzoth board right?

I'm thinking probably replace the egg it was basically me being a bit too greedy probably. looking at possibly putting in tundra rhino for the charge. Honestly I expect several of these cards to be replaced once we know more about the new set.
Frankly I can't remember what I removed for these cards but let me know what you think. Still not sure if too many one drops or if keleseth is a good idea.
Is it worth considering Stitched Tracker in this deck? Helps curve and allows you to maintain the flow of 1 drops. It's also useful later on once the quest has been completed to search for the raptors.
I had been considering it but I just don't know how to fit it in unless I drop a 1 drop which then leaves me unsure that it's even worth it. I could obviously swap it with chain gang but i think those two body taunts are going to be very valuable.
I think the problem with Quest Hunter is when it's card draw engine is just broken. You vomit you had and your cards get dealt with and you get stuck top decking and praying for more 1 drops...
Then if you get lucky you play the Queen Carnassa after your opponent has already gained the board and then you 1 drop raptors very rarely chain past 2. Plus with Deathstalker Rexxar taking up your turn 6 if your lucky. It doesn't seem to have much in the way of synergy and it has tons of dead turns where your opponent is developing a board.
Even the extra +1/+1 isn't that good...I fell for crafting The Mistcaller back in TGT...The deck itself does look fun though.
yea a lot of what your saying is why I'm concerned that there are too many 1 drops. But going lower than what I have in now worries me that it will slow the quest way too much. I'm thinking we may be able to get rid of a couple more if we drop keleseth and think about stall tactics/more card draw/generation. I'm determined to make one of my hunter decks work I'd like for this to be great.
I am also beginning to think that we are thinking about this quest wrong though. We have a tendency to treat it like a face deck win condition. I'm thinking that it should probably be thought of as a mid/late game draw engine which is another part of why I'm thinking about dropping a bunch of 1 drops from the deck. Will likely require more experimentation when the new cards drop but I'm definitely going to think on it more and continue to test some parts of the strategy in ungoro until then.

I think personally I would like it over the Dread Corsair(s) as I'm not a huge fan (in spite of the q with bow, its a dead draw if you don't have the bow).

I don't know if I'd consider it a dead draw it's not the worse 4 mana taunt card so you could play it on curve if needed and help protect your likely weak board.
So I was thinking about a version dropping Keleseth and utilizing secrets that assist with board control instead. This still doesn't really change from using the quest as a face damage win condition but I'm still mulling that over.

Thoughts opinions and assistance optimizing are all very welcome.
Alternate possibly stronger deck:

Were going to be seeing a lot of deathrattle in the coming expansion, so i think this deck is too pre-mature to even be theorycrafting.
As a result, we can also look at adding some supplements like:
Terrorscale Stalker <-- Enabler
Spiritsinger Umbra <-- Enabler
Igneous Elemental <-- 1 drops + synergy with enablers
Shaky Zipgunner <-- Beef up the 1 drops + synergy with enablers
Raptor Hatchling <-- synergy with enablers
Rat Pack <-- Overall very strong card, and with synergy.
With that said, im pretty excited to use my golden Marsh Queen and of course im always so eternally hopefully for something different for Hunter all together.
No Tundra Rhino? Thats a whole win condition after you drop the Queen
take out the Devilsaur eggs and tracking imo

I dont see alot of synergy between the cards, which hunters have alot. Also you need somehow draw more cards or u will end up short of cards.
I made the following changes today. Added Dread Corsair after confirming the 1 mana cost with Eaglehorn Bow triggers the quest. Saronite Chain Gang and Hungry Crab

This was my take on the deck.
