Hi guys,
first of all, thanks for upvoting this decklist of mine!
Also check my Wild Jade Tempo Rogue in the link below
http://www.hearthpwn.com/decks/866429-rank-15-to-legend-80-winrate
Elemental Shami is by far my favourite thing to play since the start of Un'Goro.
What I like most about it is that he gives you a fair chance to win vs. most of the higher tier and most of the Tier 1 decklists such as Control Mage or Aggro Druid
Over the time many of you guys helped me developing this decklist, giving good advices and interesting ideas about certain cards, so thank you for that!
MULLIGAN
Against aggro&midrange, try to keep either one Maelstrom Portal or Lightning Storm, needless to say, Tar Creeper and Hot Spring Guardian are better than Stonehill Defender in this matchup. Apart from that just try to maintain a good curve.
Control: since we got some more time to prepare our board, we can also consider keeping cards like Stonehill Defender or even Flamewreathed Faceless (even more so, if we have The Coin).
HOW TO PLAY THIS
I will list some of the more important matchups you will face:
Quest Rogue: since the nerf has finally arrived, you probably won´t have to worry about that in ladder anymore, but we will see, how the season proceeds
Hunter, Pirate Warrior&Aggro Druid: favoured matchup, play your taunt minions and clear with your spells, until they run out of breath. Against Druid, always save a Lightning Storm for his Living Mana crap
Jade Druid: 50:50 chance, Bloodlust wins most of the games here, do everything in your power to prevent that he reaches lategame. Similiar to Quest Rogue, only remove the key cards like Fandral Staghelm, rest is face
Control Mage: favoured, since we have at least one Kalimos, Primal Lord in reserve, they will have a hard time to burst you down to 0. Save Hex for Alexstrasza
Midrange Paladin: not easy, but winnable, if you can stop his tempo during early game. Save Hex´es for Tirion and his [deck]Spikeridged Steed[/deck]
Control Priest: by far the hardest matchup, he just has so many board clears.
The best advice I can give to you is a smart use of Spirit Echo. If you face too many of them, cut a Mana Tide Totem for another Echo
Current Changes&Thoughts
Al'Akir the Windlord for sure is one strong fellow, but without any Flametongue Totems to boost him he is only decent on most of the situations, if you need him, try to pull him out of Servant of Kalimos
-2 Fire Plume Harbinger / +2 Glacial Shards: I found Glacial Shards to be more efficient in most of the situations, stalling aggressive enemies early to prepare Lightning Storm, stalling bigger enemies during late for Hex etc.
- Bloodmage Thalnos / + 2nd Mana Tide Totem: Thalnos was a dead card most of the time, only providing a card draw, cause he was rarely there, when needed, so Mana Tide Totem poses a better chance to get several cards => more options, furthermore it has synergy with the next change
- Stone Sentinel, - Flametongue Totem / +2 Thing from Below: since we can always place a totem here and there during our turns, Thing from Below seems a nice sub for Stone Sentinel, tho he provides Feral Spirit, so to say, for free, 7 Mana is quite something compared to a card that might turn out costing 0
-2 Thing from Below, -1 Mana Tide Totem, -2 Glacial Shard / +2 Devolve, + Bloodmage Thalnos, + Stone Sentinel, + Fire Plume Harbinger
...there have been tons so many changes since the last update that I won´t write all of them down anymore, I am still testing some changes anyway.
Any more questions? Leave a comment :)
Special thanks to kiwiinbacon for deciding to feature my deck in one of his videos, hope you all like it!
PAX
I cut down 2 flametongues and put 2 volcano instead of them what u think about it ?
in the world of tempo this deck is bad vs agro and vs control. The curve of mana is so bad that i need to delete the deck and build another one for you. let me show you later
Apparently you haven´t played a single game with this. The mana curve is actually pretty decent and I won over any aggro matchup with ease.
I can´t really take any comment seriously that is just based on assumptions without any practical background knowledge.
11x 3 drops LUL
i played a few games at rank 15 , i did some changes and reach rank 10 but ty, my version have some jade cards and less 3 drops
Rank 15 is no valid position to judge from bro, no offence :D
I would not recommend Volcano, u don´t want to give up board pressure. With Jade Shami that is viable, but we have expensive minions who have to stay on board.
Bloodlust is win condition vs Control decks like Priest and Jade Druid. Mage is easy since we have too many heals to get anywhere near burned
"loose" is an adjective bro, I guess you mean "losses", from the verb "to lose"
Anyway, sorry to hear that, what rank are u playing this at?
In your deck you did not write flame totem
Hey guys, I tried this ele shammy as well! I made a showcase of it too :)
I did not really want to make somehow long video, but I kinda started talking and 5 min theory about the deck just came out of it :D So there is longer beginning, but I think you can learn something from it!
Also there is interesting chance for the viewers, so check it out!
Thank you for you attention and if you liked the video, consider subscribing to my channel!! :)
1) I think what Slvrshot says, is true - your deck would profit from Spirit Echo, because you can refill your hand and you will almost always keep the chain going; I would also suggest adding a second Mana Tide Totem in there too [though it is possible, that Spirit Echo can slow you down, it is used more often in value decks];
2) do you want to hear an interesting thought? - use Master of Evolution instead of the 4 mana 7/7 and i'm not joking:
In the previous versions of my hybrid anti-aggro deck, I used him, because he filled the 4 mana curve pretty well - I figured Flamewreathed Faceless punished me pretty hard with the overload. Master of Evolution, at least for me, was really a strong card pick, because at his worst he was a Chillwind Yeti (which isn't bad for its mana cost) and because the elementals are expensive, I could cheese in a strong unit from a damaged minion; I would suggest this, if you want to stick to the aggressor's role
[because i was looking at the curve of your deck and i was thinking what you would play after being overloaded for 2; with this change you still won't be able to play an activated Servant of Kalimos, but i believe with this minion you have better options with full mana crystals;
this and normally 4 mana 7/7 is good in the early game, not so good in the late, whereas master's effect scales with the time]
that or I would suggest having Jinyu Waterspeakers instead of the 4 mana 7/7 so that you can heal your board/face [and this deck relies on the board to win]
3) tbh even as an anti-aggro deck, aka control, i hardly ever find a good target for the second Hex, you could cut it for something else [most of the meta decks rely on a big board, so Hex doesn't do much, having 2 copies of Devolve is more than enough]
4) dunno, why not return the flametongues, they work so well with cheap minions (Fire Fly, tokens from Maelstrom Portal, Stonehill Defender, Fire Plume Harbinger, Stone Sentinel)
edit: let me know what you think and I would suggest to try some of these tips in casual (in a copied version of your deck)
I like that Master of Evolution idea....Hmmm.
those are quite some interesting options, thanks for revising my decklist :) I will try some of those changes in casual, we will see how it works
A friend of mine was also running a Windspeaker.....great burst potential but we need a 4 elemental for sure.
Well Fire Plume Phoenix is a pretty good elemental four drops in a non-jade deck
To get good value out of Jade Spirit, we would need to include Jade Claws, Lightning and Aya as well. Otherwise it´s the same problem as in Jade Druid atm, it just slows you down cause 2/3 and 1/1 is way too weak for turn 4..
But since we don´t have a decent 4 mana elemental, you should try playing with Jinyu, Faceless or even Master of Evolution..
