About
This is a budget version of Purify Priest (http://bit.ly/FullPurifyPriest). It's very easy to hit rank 5 with it. You just play it same like Purify Priest. Guide can be found lower.
Proof
General Tips
The base strategy of this deck is utilizing the Ancient Watcher and Humongous Razorleaf with Silence and Purify and buffing the minions with things like Divine Spirit and Inner Fire.
Don't forget to Silence the minion before buffing - do the other way only in not-looking-good situations.
Use the Circle of Healing mainly for clear with Auchenai Soulpriest, but also for multiple draws with Northshire Cleric. Same applies with Holy Nova - use it mainly as removal, but also as card draw when needed.
Coin + Ancient Watcher into Purify is best possible early game outcome.
Use your Hozen Healer and Priest of the Feast wisely.
Don't worry to Silence or Kabal Songstealer the enemy minions if needed.
Keep Divine Spirit and Inner Fire for OTK kill against classes with hard removal ( Hex, Polymorph, Vilespine Slayer, Execute, Shadow Word: Death etc.) .
Deck Showcase
by KiwiiNbacon:
Mulligan
Take these Mulligan tips as general, not mandatory. They can vary in certain situations - in case you are not sure about your mulligans, you can take screenshots of few of them and post them here.
The bullet list is sorted according to card importance from highest to lowest.
vs. Hunter:
(favorable matchup)
Vs Beast/Quest/Midrange (mostly meeting Beast/Midrange) - Mulligan hard for Madness or Pain in the hand for the Alleycat / Raptor combo. Once you can stabilize the early game you should be favored.
- Potion of Madness (or Pain)
- Shadow Word: Pain (or Madness)
- Northshire Cleric
- Ancient Watcher (or Razorleaf)
- Humongous Razorleaf (or Watcher)
- Purify
- Kabal Talonpriest
vs. Druid:
(slightly/highly favorable matchup)
Vs Egg - Mulligan for Madness/Pain and Watcher/Razorleaf. Once you will resist the early pressure, you are highly favored.
Vs Quest - Weren't meeting quest Druids at all. If you actually do meet him, try to mulligan for Cleric with Talonpriest or Watcher/Razorleaf. You should be favored but not sure about it.
- Potion of Madness (or Pain)
- Shadow Word: Pain (or Madness)
- Northshire Cleric
- Ancient Watcher (or Razorleaf)
- Humongous Razorleaf (or Watcher)
- Purify
- Kabal Talonpriest
vs. Warrior:
(even/favorable matchup)
Vs Pirate- Mulligan for Madness/Pain hard and try to establish Shambler as early as possible. This matchup is even.
Vs Taunt - Mulligan for Watcher/Razorleaf and Cleric with Talonpriest. Try to safe Pain for Alley Armorsmith or other high value taunts. You should be favored in this matchup.
- Potion of Madness (or Pain)
- Shadow Word: Pain (or Madness)
- Northshire Cleric
- Ancient Watcher (or Razorleaf)
- Humongous Razorleaf (or Watcher)
- Sunfury Protector (if you got Watcher or Razorleaf in hand)
- Purify
- Kabal Talonpriest
- Power Word: Shield
vs. Shaman:
(even/highly favorable matchup)
Vs Elemental (Jade) - Mulligan for Watcher/Razorleaf and Cleric with Talonpriest. Safe Pain for Flametongue Totem. Keep the HP of mobs above 3 on turn 6 and 5 on turn 7. This matchup is even.
Vs Murloc - Mulligan for Watcher/Razorleaf and Cleric with Talonpriest. Try to clear the board wisely and you should be fine. You are highly favored in this matchup.
- Northshire Cleric
- Purify (with coin/or Silence)
- Silence (without coin/or Purify)
- Shadow Word: Pain
- Kabal Talonpriest
- Power Word: Shield
vs. Paladin:
(favorable matchup)
Vs Handbuff (Jade) - Mulligan for Watcher/Razorleaf and Cleric with Talonpriest. Try to have at least one Silence for the enemy Tirion. This matchup is slightly favorable.
Vs Quest - Met quest pala only like 1-2 times. Keep same strategy as for Handbuff - try to have Silence or other removal for Galvadon.
- Ancient Watcher (or Razorleaf)
- Humongous Razorleaf (or Watcher)
- Northshire Cleric
- Kabal Talonpriest
- Purify (with coin/or Silence)
- Silence (without coin/or Purify)
- Acolyte of Pain
- Power Word: Shield
vs. Rogue:
(highly unfavored matchup)
Vs Quest - Try to go aggro as possible with early Watcher/Purify. If you can't kill the rogue until he completes quest you can concede. This is highly unfavored and worst matchup of all.
Vs Flower - Mulligan for Watcher/Razorleaf and Cleric with Talonpriest. Take care for Vilespine Slayer when buffing your minions. This is slightly unfavorable matchup.
- Northshire Cleric
- Ancient Watcher (or Razorleaf)
- Humongous Razorleaf (or Watcher)
- Potion of Madness
- Purify (or Silence)
- Silence (or Purify)
- Kabal Talonpriest
- Power Word: Shield
vs. Mage:
(highly unfavored/even matchup)
Vs Quest - Try to go aggro as possible with early Watcher/Purify. If you can't kill the mage until he completes quest you can concede. This is highly unfavored matchup.
Vs Tempo - Mulligan for Watcher/Razorleaf and Cleric with Talonpriest. This is even matchup.
- Ancient Watcher (or Razorleaf)
- Humongous Razorleaf (or Watcher)
- Northshire Cleric
- Kabal Talonpriest
- Purify (with coin/or Silence)
- Silence (without coin/or Purify)
- Acolyte of Pain
- Shadow Word: Pain
- Power Word: Shield
vs. Warlock:
(even matchup)
Vs Zoo/Discard - Mulligan for Madness/Pain. Try to establish high Watcher/Razorleaf earliest as possible. This is slightly unfavored matchup.

- Shadow Word: Pain (or Madness)
- Northshire Cleric
- Ancient Watcher (or Razorleaf)
- Humongous Razorleaf (or Watcher)

- Kabal Talonpriest
- Purify (with coin/or Silence)
- Silence (without coin/or Purify)
- Acolyte of Pain

Suggestions from community
- You could include Tortollan Shellraiser. I found that it was underwhelming but if you're going ultra-budget, at least it's cheap. Decent body + taunt.
- I'd go 2x Priest of the Feast. Found the 3 attack was very good and healing effect with the sheer number of spells you have can be good too.
- Potion of Madness I don't think is right for the deck. The point of the deck is build up a big wall either in fat minions that can remove multiple for board control, setup a huge wall for taunt and to burst down with inner fire. I don't think this spell helps with that all that much. I'd remove it in order to make room for more 2-ofs that DO fit into the game plan.
- Replaced Sunfury Protector ► Defender of Argus
- If you are experiencing problems with aggro, tryany of the following but not sure if any of them will work in practice:
- Crystalline Oracle - 1 drop that can also pull some added resources. If you're against aggro, it'll likely be an aggro card that could help with controlling the board.
- Loot Hoarder - to contest 2 health 2 drops + helps with draw.
- Wild Pyromancer - either just for its stats as is or as a board clear, commonly with PW:S but other cheap spells work. Synergy with the acolyte, so might be an idea to have 2 acolyte.
- Golakka Crawler - Only if the meta is pirate-heavy and only one-of as a tech card. Even then it may not be a good idea.
Also the deck can later be upgraded by adding Shadow Visions, which works great with Elise.
I'll report my results.
Both replacements are of course fine, just didn't made it to budget version :)
Love the idea of the deck. Problem is I have a hard time getting the combos.
You should be able to settle up at least few strong minions. You can try some replacements eg. deck guide, or try tech choices like Crazed Alchemist. And remember, your win condition isn't only about Inner Fire.
Maybe this deck isn't for you. You'll have an easier time trying to rank up if you're playing a deck that you're more familiar with, atleast that's how it is for me.
rank 14 and 13 are harder that rank 8 and 7 at the moment (from my experience). Try dragon priest from trump, that's how i got out of those ranks
As Nandop says, the decks you meet the most vary on every +/- 5 ranks.
Against what are you loosing mostly? :-)
Nice deck, but I can't find purify and priest of the feast :(
Very nice deck, but why Stonehill Defender? I replaced it with a Crazed Alchemist.
Stonehill Defender (or Tar Creeper is fine too) are really helping you to deal with the aggro to midrange Hunters/Druids and such decks, which are swarming the ladder and are pretty much annoying. For minions like Frozen Crusher Faceless Shambler (which you can discover from Stonehill)or Corrupted Healbot etc. the Alchemist is dead draw and you kinda don't want to increase number of those in deck.
BUT it's definitely a reasonable tech choice, if you are meeting a lot of Quest Rogues/Mages and you need to deal quick fatal damage.
Should I make this deck? I wanna climb to rank5+. Is it worthy?
Until Rank 5 it works like a charm :) 5 to legend is just way too dreamy with deck for 2k dust :)
This deck is a lot of fun. Beat the Hemet mage just now
Won five games in a row at rank 10 to 9 so pretty happy with it for something to complete a quest with, picked it up easily so I guess this deck suits my playstyle +1
Happy to hear that! :)
Budget priest but I need to spend 20 USD or 3500 gold to get Karazhan :(. Not blaming the title, just got my hopes up. Looks like I have to grind for gold.
Well, ye. The tittle Puripriest should work as a hint. that there is Purify included ^^
It's actually just 700g to reach Priest and 2100g to reach Purify - u should save gold for the adventures anyway in my opinion.
Nevertheless, i'll try to come out with some solution for you, so your hopes aren't destroyed :)
I have all cards for quest rogue except patches. Should I craft patches or go for this deck
Well it depends. This deck is a budget version for people who wants to be competetive on ladder whilst having limited collection of cards, dust and gold.
Quest Rogue might be higher tier then Silence Priest but the decks are at least comparable. If u have dust I would say craft Patches and play the Rogue for like 3-4 weekes until the meta settles down and then Just play whatever u'll enjoy :)
ok thanks dude :)
