Hello everyone! I'm Spark, Legend player from France. Today I wanted to share with you my updated Control Shaman, which is designed to beat consistently Aggro decks while still keeping up against Reno decks.
As always, it runs the full set of board clears to annihilate the swarm of aggro decks. You also have access to a solid healing potential thanks to Healing Wave and Hallazeal the Ascended. On top of that, I'm also running Earth Elemental with a single Ancestral Spirit to prevent further aggression.
With all the overload cards in the deck, Lava Shock is a natural choice to compensate the downside while adding a little bit of damage to control some minions. Lightning Bolt help dealing with early aggression and Hex is obviously here to deal with stronger threats.
Besides the standard set of Control tools, I chose to run something different from my previous N'Zoth, the Corruptor variant. This time I'm using Y'Shaarj, Rage Unbound instead!
As I want to optimize the chance of getting a solid Barnes play, the deck almost only runs valuable targets for it! That's why I chose to run Ancestral Knowledge and Feral Spirit instead of Azure Drake and Thing from Below.
To make use of Barnes and Y'Shaarj, Rage Unbound, I chose to run solid win conditions : White Eyes, Emperor Thaurissan, Sylvanas Windrunner, Ragnaros the Firelord and Ysera.
Update
As the Miracle Rogue matchup felt really annoying and Aggro Shaman gave me a little bit more issue than expected in the long run, I tweaked the deck a little bit.
I'm now running Devolve to deal better with Miracle Rogue boards and Shaman Aggro when you can't really clear them properly.
Stormcrack comes in to deal with 4-health minions such as Totem Golem and Azure Drake.
Finally, I added the second Ancestral Spirit for its synergy with the win conditions and Barnes summoning mechanic.
Replacements
Please don't ask for replacements, I know the deck is pretty expensive but it's just impossible to find similar win conditions in term of value and synergy.
However, If you only lack 2 of the final conditions, it is possible to replace them with a combination of Cairne Bloodhoof and N'Zoth, the Corruptor. And if you only lack one you can run this set up as well by giving up on Ancestral Spirit. Malygos is also a fine win condition although a bit more situational.
Matchups & Mulligan
I've written a full in-depth guide about the deck at Good Gaming. I definitely recommend to give it a check if you want to learn how to pilot the deck properly.

Results
I'm eating Aggro decks all day long with this build and Reno decks aren't really an issue. Jade Druid is obviously an awful matchups as the Jade Golem are just getting out of Control.
I hit Legend on EU during S34 using mostly this deck. Here are my win-rates :
Gameplay Video
Here is a cool win streak I've had on stream facing some aggro decks and a renolock (french commentary)
Bonus : N'Zoth Jade Variant
As a bonus, here is my other Control Shaman build, which is centered around N'Zoth and Jade synergies : Jade Zoth Control Shaman
The deck also counters pretty well aggro decks but feels slightly less efficient to me, feel free to try it as well ;)
Closing
I hope you'll enjoy the deck as much as I do and maybe it can help you reach Legend this season. Don't forget to show your support by upvoting the deck if you liked and don't hesitate to discuss about it or ask any question in the comment section below ;)

despite playing for many years i still miss both earth elementals and both elemental destructions.. lol. also i dont have white eyes. have rest of the leges tho. this deck cost so much...
Yup, wallet Shaman :s
i crafted both elemntal destructions, ancestral spirit and white eyes for this deck..honestly the most fun i've had in forever in hearthstone..if you can manage to craft them you won't regret it
I've been playing a deck I made with a Leeroy Jenkins + Windfury + Faceless Manipulator combo to finish the opponent. It may be another way to fit in more anti-aggro or anti-control cards without sacrificing a win condition, since it is only a 4 card combo with Emperor.
You're welcome, that's exactly what the deck is designed for :P
Any reason for taking out Feral? Isn't it better against all the aggro meta running around?
If you only face Shaman and Warrior it's probably better than 1x Devolve and 1x Ancestral Spirit yes. However the card is helping me a lot against Miracle Rogue/Dragon Priest/Reno decks.
Depends on the meta in the end :)
Still loving this deck. took this new update and removed a ancestral knowledge in place for goya. I know she sucks if you get her with barnes but replacing a totem or something coming from the maelstrom portal for another big minion is awesome.
Yup she has a spot here indeed, just not too good as a card but at least she works here :P
Well, you need to play a lot and dust cards you don't need there is no magic formula to gather dusts =/
Well that's not what supposed to happen, you clean their boards with early AoE, heal up and taunt up ...
You generally need to be conservative with Elemental Destruction in that matchup, but yes it can end up being hard if they ramp up the golems too fast
really nice deck and so much fun to wreck all those aggro almost every time
i did the following changes, though (imo, the deck is a bit too greedy and has too much Overload):
-2 Ancestral Knowledge
-1 Maelstrom Portal
-1 Earth Elemental
-1 Ysera
-1 Y'Shaarj, Rage Unbound
+2 Far Sight
+1 Stormcrack
+1 Feral Spirit
+1 Mana Tide Totem
+1 Faceless Manipulator
That moment when Coin + Barnes Turn 3 pulls out a 1/1 copy of Y'Shaarj, Rage Unbound, which, in turn, pulls out the real Y'Shaarj, Rage Unbound. Priceless!
+1, keep it up!
Hahah yep that's the best Barnes scenario generally :P
Really fun and efficient!
I replaced Y'Shaarj, Rage Unbound for Faceless Manipulator and WOW. It's working really well.
So much fun when we end up with 3 Ragnaros the Firelord or two White Eyes with Ancestral Spirit.
Haha nice :P Wouldn't replace Y'Shaarj for that but cool tech indeed
I've tried like hell to get this list to work for me but I'm coming in just under breaking even... I've been doing 57% with the jade control shaman with elemental destruction.... Maybe I'm just playing this deck wrong but I never seem to have the heal when I need it but if I do have it, it's usually too late.
Well it's a bit tricky to play properly. Maybe stick with the Jade list if it's doing better ^^
Hey Spark, what do you hink of adding Al'akir? He seems pretty interesting, especially with ancestral spirit.
Also are two ancestral knowledges neccessary? or can one be subbed out for Far Sight? (sometimes i find Ancestral Knowledge to be very unusable in some matchups, due to fitting my curve)
