Plays off Dragonkin Sorcerer with spell buffs (Velen's Chosen, Light of the Naaru, and Power Word: Shield) and Lightbomb into Volcanic Drake on the same turn possibly.
Obviously, plenty of dragons to buff Blackwing Technician. Chromaggus for staying out of Big Game Hunter range and getting more cards late game as this deck doesn't focus on card draw early. Twilight Whelp might become the new Zombie Chow.
Deck Update 1
Switched out Faerie Dragon for now. Personally I'm still going to try it, but Gilblin Stalker is a decent two drop that sticks and can be Velen's Chosened turn 3.
why there is no black wing courrptor ??
IMHO, you're playing too many dragons. It seems to me that you just threw in whatever minions had a dragon tag, without thinking too much about how they work in the deck. I would suggest dropping Faerie Dragon, as it's best played early so it doesn't help with the in-hand mechanic. Not to mention the anti-synergy with all your buffs. I would also drop Volcanic Drake, because it needs 3 deaths minimum to be a value card, and this deck doesn't have that many tokens.
Looks good and i will be sure to try it but maybe to help with the card draw -1 Fairy Dragon +1 Northshire wont help alot but it might just get that extra draw
Without card draw you will have problem to play this deck. Even with Chromaggus that is far too slow you will run out on turn 5-6 and then pray. I would scrap the 2 smites and get 2 Northshire Clerics instead. Also Twilight Whelp is a 1 mana 2/3 that is actually only a 2/3 if you don't play him on turn 1. The chances that you don't have another dragon in hand are actually quite high. So i would personally rather play Zombie Chow than the whelpling.
And Faerie Dragon... good in Arena, bad in constructed: you want to buff and heal your creature. You can't do it on Faerie Dragon. So i would rather play Dark Cultist, althrough it can make turn 2 awkward.
Kinda feel like that's returning a bit too much to the typical priest deck. I mean those are battle tests cards of course, but I really want something new in the priest. I definitely think card draw is a problem here, as well as matchups vs aggro, if I was to change something I'd think dropping a Faerie Dragon for possibly a Gilblin Stalker so I have a two drop that sticks and can be buffed eventually. But again, only playing it will really tell. Thanks for the ideas!
I was thinking of using feiry dragon as well in this kind of prest however by only having it as a 2 drop it can't be buffed by any of your spells and so you risk loosing board control early and you don't have many comebackmecanicks i see it struggle against aggro and since you only have 2 minions to play on turn 1-3 I think even control decks might take board from you and cards like
Chromaggus
Mind Control
Vol'jin
[card]Divine Spirit[/card]
Thoughtsteal
[card]Velen's Chosen[/card]
Really only shines when you have boardcontrol.
If you actually get boardcontrol I think this deck will win 9/10 though
Faerie Dragon is a decent 2-drop AND a dragon which trades well with higher cost minions...I think it fits
Well, first off, thanks for the comment and the critique. I went with Faerie Dragon not only to get more Dragons in the deck to be able to take advantage of the buffs of Twilight Whelp and Blackwing Technician. But also to have something to play on turn 2. Especially if Twilight Whelp doesn't get drawn, it's something to play. And just have them bite the dust for Volcanic Drake, possibly. Definitely agree aggro would be a tough matchup.
Not saying it dosen't fit it's great the problem is the times Faerie Dragon is the only early minion and you are sitting on a buch of buffs, not saying it should be removed just that the deck will need more early drop so the Power Word: Shield and Velen's Chosen get stuck in your hand with nothing to play them on.
PS: I love this kind of priest deck (the one without soulpriest circle combo) and have tried to make similar decks with tons of value and lot's of big efficient cards a ton of times "without the dragons" and everytime you get behind on board and realize priest has no comebackmechanic and loosing board often means loosing the game.
Can't know for sure untill you play it though :)
Definitely know where you are coming from with the priest games, had my fair share of hopeless games with zero board control. We'll know April 2nd. High hopes for this deck, thanks for the insight!
