New Main Button Being Added to Hearthstone
Thanks to a post on the Hearthstone facebook page, it looks like a new button is being added to the main screen in Hearthstone.
We are not yet sure what it will be for, although it is worth pointing out that the current buttons we have are all for various play modes.
We have confirmed that the new Heroes will be chosen via the collection manager, which means Zhang Dong's statement that there was still more to come appears to be accurate. We are indeed getting another large piece of content! What are you hoping for?
Clarifications
Quote from BlizzardThere are currently no plans for a co-op mode. (Hearthstone.de Facebook)
Will new hero portraits be usable in arena?
How does this selection process work? In the settings or when you click 'play ranked'
It'll be a part of the collection manager. - Zeriyah (Source)
Tavern Brawl Art
Some new art has been posted on the @PlayHearthstone Twitter account. We aren't sure if it has any relation to the new button, but it is worth mentioning.
"There is no such thing as bad publicity except your own obituary."
;)
I hate it, as well. But E3 is coming up and Blizzard just wants to show their players that "hey, we've got stuff on the way" before they reveal it there.
Really? Teasers are my favourite thing that companies can do. It provides us with a chance to speculate about new features, and if done right builds hype about the final product. For example, most people seem convinced that this is a tournament mode, but we don't know, which means we can discuss what else it could be, and is more interesting than - 'Hey, tournament mode coming. More info at E3 lololol'.
The best example I've seen of this are the developers of a game called Awesomenauts - every patch now they release little teaser images and drawings that reference something that's coming. Then, after 2 days of speculation, we get told - hey, it was a cool new skin for this character, or hey, this character is getting fixed.
Teasers, when done right, are the best way to build hype. It's just too bad the first teaser had such a negative response. If they'd started with this we'd have way more excitement around it.
Lets hope its a place where people who pay play with others who pay and those who dont get to take on others who wont pay. Aka me.
Is'nt arena already a variation of that format? Yea it's dumbed down, but so is the whole game.
No. Arena is a form of draft, not sealed deck play.
that would be really awesome! oO
"Trade cards" with other players would be really nice =)
That will never happen. It will simply encourage people to create many farm accts, and then "trade" cards to their main acct.
yeah, that is if no constraints are added, like have to have been in the game for 1 year, and you've been friends for like half a year. but yeah, it will always be ways to bend the rules :/ with stream snipers like ghosty, among others, the community isn't the right one i guess xD
Any ideas when this patch will be out?
After E3. Blizzard will be at E3 for the first time in years. They will have Hearthstone announcements at that time.
I was hoping it would be sooner :) during today's maintenance maybe...
I don't get how a tournament mode would be interesting for a daily player like myself who never plays in tournament
Am I missing something? Can you guys explain please? :)
the rewards might entice people to play. hopefully you don't get blizzard points, but in-game prizes like packs, gold, cardbacks, etc.
I was going to say some time of 2v2 casual/ranked mode, but then "No co-op mode at this time." Oh well. Tournament mode IS next best, I suppose. :)
vanilla mode all basic cards going up to legend :D YUSSSSS
Well hopefully it's a completely new and original game-mode or a tournament-mode.
I'm hoping for like puzzle mode or something, but that doesn't sound too likely.
