The card feels pretty meh in utility and flavor. I thought the legendary spell and the legendary scientist were supposed to go together, but this doesn't really seem to fit the theme of Kangor's Endless Army. That aside, this card is low enough cost it could actually see play since it has the mana cost flexibilty and can be easily paired with Blessing of Kings, Spikeridged Steed etc.
It can be good in my Quest Heal Paladin :)
if this was a priest card would be like 2 mana 2/3
I mean if you buff this its pretty good.
Now that I think about it, Quest Pally could make great use of that. Gives time to complete the quest and dont forget About all those buffs the class currently has (and will have). And it has lifesteal so..
This then lay on hands 16 health gain and draw 3 cards + black guard 16 damage to random enemy minion, of course you'll need a black guard on the board for it to work but still pretty good combo :D
Good for control or a late game comeback, but besides that it's a very underwhelming card. Totally boring and uninteresting. It's better than The Glass Knight, i suppose...
I don't think it's that powerful. It might see some play against aggro in the early game, but it will probably be killed off very fast (3 dudes are not that hard to put on the board). It will heal you for 6 in the early game, but if you can't keep it on the board and buff it, that's it. Can you elaborate on why do you think it would be so much more powerful with 2 atatck?
Well, it would heal you for 4 every time it damages something (not counting buffs, which would make it straight up ridiculous, and which are fairly safe to use because of the Divine Shield), have a lot of trade capability, plus all the healing card boosts this card already gives. Basically, everything that made Shielded Minibot an excellent minion plus Lifesteal and a very powerful effect. Not the most healthy thing for Hearthstone...
you mean heal you for 2 twice since it have 1 attack for a total of 4 in its life time.
If it need another card like healing card or attack buff, then it is not worth using, early game or late game
See, that's the problem. I don't think it WILL damage a lot of things. If you play it on curve, it's probably gonna be killed in your opponent's next turn. If you play it in the late game (If you're alive, that is), it's gotta be followed by some other card or heling effect. I think I'm just disappointed that it's not that powerful for a legendary. Also, I have a preeetty good feeling that aggro paladin decks will find a way to run this card, and we all know they don't need any more help.
I was thinking on the best case scenario (for the defender), when your opponent bumps 3 1/1s into it. It would heal you for 2 health 3 times.
But here’s the thing: Crystalsmith Kangor isn’t MEANT to be played as a 2-drop. You’re supposed to wait and play him with a buff like Spikeridged Steed, or bust him out in a later turn with low health for a massive heal. If you play this only for its body, you are losing a huge opportunity.
I see your point. Don't get me wrong, I would LOVE for this card to see play like this, and a new control paladin deck would be awesome, but I still don't think it's strong enough as a late game play, specially with Shudderwock shaman and Malygos Druid around. BUT there's no way to actually know until the set is realeased, and I HOPE I'm wrong on this and Crystalsmith Kangor actually turns out to be really good. :)
exactly, this card is their attempt to keep on pushing more combo which means it will only be good for a specific type of deck really limiting player with a low budget
Kinda like Sonya Shadowdancer
Good synergy with Uther of the Ebon Blade (if weapon dont gets oozed)
Kinda okay synergy withBenevolent Djinn
So... I use both in my homebrewed control quest pala (ik it is not supercompetitive deck for now, but who knows). I think Kangor might see play if control(ish) palas back in meta. Why not mech btw?
Good question. Why not mech?
Because... this isn’t a Mech? I don’t understand your doubt here.
