Managing the Collection Manager - The Hearthstone Team Has Tips For You!
Stop being a noob! Today you'll learn how to use Hearthstone's collection manager brought to you by Blizzard.
Quote from Jesse HillNavigating the Collection Manager is now easier than ever! Looking for that specific 4-cost minion to pair with your Oaken Summons Druid deck? Trying to recall the name of the Deathrattle minion your friend keeps beating you with? Even if you just want to sit back and admire the shine of all the golden cards you have amassed, just enter these keywords into the search window and you’ll be piloting your collection like a pro.
The Collection Manager search feature allows players to look through their collection in ways that best fit their needs. Allowing you to specify and narrow down to what you are exactly looking for, these search functions will help to make sure you are always finding the right card for your specific situation.
Numerical Search Tags
- Attack:#
Only show minions who have an attack value equal to the specified number.
- Health:#
Only show minions who have health equal to the specified number.
- Owned:#
Show all cards that you own of the specific quantity.
- Mana:#
Only shows cards of the chosen mana cost.
Keyword Search Tags
- <Golden>
Only shows those awesome golden cards you own.
- Mana:<even/odd>
As players who have built decks with Genn Greymane or Baku the Mooneater may have noticed, this command will filter your deck to only show cards that are even or odd cost.
- Artist:<Name>
Show cards that feature work from the specified artist. You can include full name or just first or last.
- Missing
Show all cards that you are missing. This works much like when entering [Crafting]mode. However, this command will also show you cards that have a deck limit of two, but you only own one of.
- Extra
This command will show you all cards that you own that exceed deck limits.
- New
Filters cards that are tagged as “New”. Very handy after opening packs!
- Rarity:<Type>
This command will show you all cards of the specified rarity. Card rarities in Hearthstone are Common, Rare, Epic and Legend.
- Type:<type>
Show all cards of the specified type. The different types of cards in Hearthstone are spell, minion, weapon and hero.
- Has:<word>
This will filter your collection to only show cards that contain a specific word, phrase or combination of letters. For example, has:rav will show you all cards with those three letters in that order.
Searches can be combined as well! For example, if you wanted to find each Golden minion with 3-attack, you can use the example below to show each of your cards that meet this critiria.
With these keywords and search functions, managing your cards has never been easier. So, crack open that collection and search in style!
Choosing specific sets is a feature that has been in the client forever. And it can be combined with any of the filter options listed in this article
By the way, contrary to what this article claims, not all search filters stack (and as noted by others, some are more fragile than others). For example, you can't type "Missing Legendary" to see all the legendaries you don't yet have despite both filters being valid by themselves.
The filter works fine, as soon as you click "Crafting" after entering it
Both filters independently work fine without having to go into Crafting mode, so you shouldn't need crafting mode in this case nor is it intuitive to keep tinkering with modes. I think what you're seeing is "missing" portion of the filter getting dropped when you go to crafting mode, but I'm not currently home to check.
That might actually be the case. Didn't think that one through, I guess.
Wow I didn't know about extra, I've been using mass disenchant to disenchant my extra cards
Would be really nice to have these commands listed somewhere in the client, like typing "HELP" would bring up the list of commands.
Jajaja
huehuehue
Because it's Blizzard.
I think it would be cool if we could just look at cards from specific sets. I'd like to be able to only look at say... Naxxramus, Journey To Ungoro, and The Witchwood cards - maybe be able to click on 4 AND 6 mana to see only those particular cards ( I know you can type Mana:4-6, but I might not want to see 5 mana cards). You would need wider-ranging options like that for tournament mode anyway (the rules would be endless). A complete list of key-words in one spot and more buttons should be in place at a minimum, but I think being able to group cards together in different ways will open up more ideas as to how certain cards might interact that hadn't been thought of before. What with collections only getting bigger everyday, we really need a better way to index and sort our collections - rather than just clicking an arrow on the right side of the screen ad infinitum. It could be as simple as a drop-down that's filled with icons that represent different filters or a longer search bar that we can fill with specific keywords: set:BRM,MSG_mana:2,4,6_deathrattle_rush. Then you would see all of the cards that fit any of those criteria. I don't know, that might be too complicated for some and I don't how you could implement that on the phones, I'm just throwin' ideas out there. :)
An in-game drop-down of the search commands would be nice, but I think it already does much more than you think. You know you can already combine commands, right? And there's no need for a "longer" search bar. You can already enter pretty much as much as you want. And you can already look at just specific sets too. It's the button at the bottom left. Honestly, they just need an "or" function as well as their current "and" system. That would allow for pretty much everything you've asked for.
Is it just me or is HearthPwn comment trees recently become garbled? I am seeing quoted responses above the root comment. Getting hard to follow threads.
Do you have this guide on other language?
I play Hearthstone in Spanish.
If people don't have intuitive way directly in user interface to see these options, or better yet click preset filters instead of typing, it means this feature sucks. They were trying to raise awareness about it before, and now again, meaning that they know people waste a lot of time trying to search collection, and they still don't make it effective, just point to sucky half-solution.
Sweet! The only missing search tag is "Help" to see these all in the collection manager itself.
this is old news... bad thing is that there is not info on the client itself... so you have to dig (and know what to dig for...) for glossary...
Is it? I don't have my sound on very high typically, but I thought he says will.
No, you were correct

I just wished that there was a search for "Golden" so that all us plebes can quickly find "where da dust at?"
