Quote from DaxxarriThe Monster Hunt has begun!
The Monster Hunt is The Witchwood’s new free, single-player mission content.
You’ll take on the role of one of four veteran monster hunters who are venturing deep into the Witchwood on Hagatha’s trail. Each of these heroes (or anti-heroes as the case may be!) has their own favorite tricks—a special hero power or ability that you’ll need to master if you hope to survive the hunt. Each time you go on a Monster Hunt, you’ll attempt to defeat a series of up to eight monstrous bosses. With each victory, you’ll build a stronger and stronger deck with the items you find—though if you should fall, you’ll have to begin your hunt again with a fresh deck. The trail ahead won’t be easy—the forest is full of fiendish foes! Each hunter also carries a grudge against a particular foe they’ve crossed paths with before—a nemesis, if you will. These are unique bosses that only that hunter can track down to fight.
You’ll want to go on a Monster Hunt with all four heroes because each offers a quest that, if completed, will earn you a The Witchwood card pack! Each quest completed will unlock the next quest in the series, but hunt swiftly—these quests are only available for a limited time*. If you can complete the Monster Hunt with all four hunters, you’ll finally have a chance to face off with the source of the evil in the Witchwood: Hagatha!
If you can defeat Hagatha with the power of all four heroes combined, and free the wood from her vile curse, you’ll earn the gratitude of Gilneas and the Monster Hunter card back!
Tess, Darius, Shaw, and Toki aren’t the only ones with an interest in the Witchwood! Learn more about each of them and the other dreadful denizens of the Witchwood in the Mysterious Missives series:

I think that Frenzied Trapper is maybe one of the best cards. Tess Graymane 8/8 bossed defeated from first time. I am just amazed how last boss (Captain Shivers) put two Fel Reaver and I just burned whole his deck for 2 turns.... And On turn 5 Trapper, which put 5 hunter secrets, he has no chance to do something. The other boss was pretty easy with tess when you put Freeze Trap early on board. Than you just get freeze trap every turn with your hero power, and bosses can't put any minion without returning it to hand.
If you can't get into a game, restarting's been working for me. That said, restarting between every game isn't super convenient, but it's better than not playing at all.
Cool adventure and bosses, great heroes, free packs,a nice card back and lots of FUN.
Thanks blizz!
Well, Azalina is the new Trap Room. As in - an unbeatable, absolutely bullshit boss unless you're Darius, so that's nice...
Tess is actually unplayable. You basically pray that you get jades - those are the only playable cards she might ever get.
Overall, feels just like Hearthstone always feels.
Don't know what you're talking about, I beat her as Tess first try without Fan of Knives. Personally, I had more trouble with Ivan
I won against Azalina with Toki and it wasn’t that hard. Toki comes with a lot of spells that are good for clearing small minions. Also, Tess is not unplayable, but it does depend a bit on the spells you can get copies of with her hero power. Jades are awesome for winning, but getting discounts for the spells that you create can be pretty good as well. At least that was my expirience so far.
Tess is really good with spell damage, I just won with her without jades.
For me the hardest one is the green guy that revive your minions with 1/3 that causes 1 damage to all characters. He is insane, actually Hagatha says that he was the one responsible for protecting her when she was about to die, really interesting story by the way.
Aaaand it's broken. GG Blizz.
would be great if can enter games actually all the time error messages
small indie company potato servers
Loads of fun and frustration. Now is the time to get in and play for the broken mechanics, before Blizzard fixes them!
Got sticky hands, the treasure that makes every single nondeck card cost 1 less.
Went against the boss that made every spell have echo.
Got sinister strike on first turn.
Proceeded to laugh his health down to 0 from 45.
10/10 balance, plz gibe more blizzard.
also works really well with the pebble you get if you use your HP without spells. Takes a while but I find the idea of stoning a spookyghost into submission quite hilarious
I dunno, I liked the mental image of Tess slashing the ghost down with a flurry of fast attacks while smiling with sadistic glee a lot better.
Hell, I did that with just the rock from Tess's hero power on turn 1 (treasure reduces power to 1 cost, rock costs 0, echo for the win).
Quite hilarious indeed
The Millrogue boss made me wish I had never been born.
fuck that guy for real
Monster Hunt presents: How it feels like to play against Mill Rogues... Okay, this is much worse.
But somehow, I find Azalina to be even more broken, because she has a card that steals all your damn minions. If you're not prepared for that you're done. How should I even know this card exists and I have to prepare for it? Well, so much for game design and balance, Glinda was easy btw.
Edit: I made a dumb. Ignore below.
Tess can't discover Boss spells.
Brushwood Centurion played Hack.
Next turn I tried to discover it and only had Whirlwind and Cleave as options.
I mean, yea, Adventure boss cards can be strong, but it'd be fun.
