Hearthstone Update for February Contains New Events, Possible Balance Changes
A new patch has been confirmed for next month which at the very least will contain some new "cool" events Ben Brode has confirmed earlier today via Twitter.
- If the team decides to make balance changes, that is the earliest any will happen.
- We wonder if this will include the arena-only cards for future usage.
Is there anything specific you'd like to see changed in a possible balance update?
Quote from Ben BrodeBeen reading discussions about balance; we have an update coming next month which includes some cool events, and that is when any balance changes would happen. We'll be sure to announce any changes as the patch gets closer. See you at the HCT World Championship next week!
I'd be happy with any epic or legendary getting nerfed just for some dust relief. This expansion (and the last one) have been rough as a F2P.
It has only been rough for f2p players in the epic department, for the most part. Aside from the DKs in KotFT the extra legendaries added in Un'Goro, KotFT, & K&C included plenty of bad legendaries (including most of the Un'Goro quests). Having extra bad legendaries doesn't mean that f2p players need to craft them, in fact they are free to avoid crafting them so in that regard there are no extra burdens placed on f2p players.
I know they're going to nerf Corridor Creeper, but I also hope they nerf Bonemare. Bonemare should be like North Sea Kraken. An amazing high-cost arena card, but not an auto-include in constructed. And it should be 9-mana. I wouldn't be sad if Scalebane had a stat point or two removed, but it's not in the same league as Bonemare. I can't believe it was even released at 7-mana let alone gone this long without a nerf.
I though some streamer has already explain why corridor creeper was good. If u dont know, its because patches exist as the first main case. Patches atm is still a bigger problem than CC itself. Bonemare is more or less balance, 9/9 for 7 mana is rare but u still need a body on board. If it does get nerfed, I dont think ur way is the best choice. Cobalt scalebane is justified, no reason for change.
Voidlord is nostalgic in comparison with Obsidian Statue. If you play them directly for its actual cost; and later resummon them through N'Zoth, the Corruptor or so, it's reasonably fair.
But its when you can summon them out twice as fast with Barnes or Skull of the Man'ari that can make it frustrating to play against
the combos with it are the problem, not the card
That said, you do have a point -- the recruit cards are far more dangerous, both in the current meta and in terms of design space.
Yep problem isn’t Voidlord it’s Warlock being given to many ways to cheat out big demons.
The only card I am looking forward to get balanced is Stoneskin Basilisk.
This card is destroing my Arena experience pretty hard :(
Cheap poison is so tilting in Arena.
That isn't a reason to nerf. They would fix that by adjusting the offering rate.
Nerf Cube and Creeper!
Get ready for the nerf to more basic cards!
Could the balance changes possibly be buffs? Warrior and Shaman are both in dire straights right now...
Corridor Creeper is an insane card too, but no deck is oppressive, even though there are many lopsided matchups around.
They haven't made buffs since the beta, no? I think it's about time for some, but they seem to really shy away from it for some reason. Probably because you can offer a full dust refund for someone who just crafted a card before it was nerfed, but you can't make up to someone who just dusted a card before it was buffed.
EDIT: I suppose they could just reduce the crafting cost to be equal to the disenchantment reward for a couple weeks. It would be an easy fix.
